  • Paganini's I Palpiti played by the great Ivry Gitlis. He is such a great master of interpretation and style, this rendition by him is amazing. Just audio, no video, but just the music alone has the power to change the world :)

    David Oistrachs Aufnahmen halfen mir dabei.
    Gitlis sein Paganini ist unerreichbar!

    this man is great i know that.... breathtaking playing, it is just not boring. if everybody sticks on the notes they see in the music, then after a while, everybody play exactly the same, then we don´t need newcomers anymore... "you gotta improvise the work you see in the music...", you gotta be the Jazzer in classic. I like this a lot. If Beethoven wasnt in that Opinion, he couldnt be Beethoven.

    No one can play this one awkward harmonic note in the double harmonic variation that is a combination of a 4th and 5th harmonics imposing an extremely awkward stretch. Everyone else plays it as double 5ths instead. Paganini's technique remains unmatched

      I'm not sure if he does it or not, but try checking out Roman Kim's I Palpiti! ua-cam.com/video/dBkUyAJ93to/v-deo.html He does some crazy stuff with his violin, and he's even invented a technique or two, I think.

    i am also fan of gitlis listening, but i dont like people comparing violinsts. so many differents styles and ways are great, and for me there is no better or worse ... as long as it is special in a certain way .. like Gitlis :D

  • @Rufetia
    @Rufetia 16 років тому +3

    I personally am not a fan of Gitlis' wild tempo changes, sudden changes in dynamic, or abbrupt changes in tone color, but for Paganini it seems appropriate. Probably more so than Szeryng...and Szeryng is one of my musical heros.

    • @manfred4766
      @manfred4766 2 роки тому

      Szeryng play is simply " correct ". That means, probably much influenced by the strict Flesch school, that he doesn´t use the whole freedom in agogique, dynamics, emotions etc. So his Paganini is quite steril. He demonstrated this in the 3. VC, which he played in London.

    • @bookiification

      That's it for me too. I don't know why. There is something in Gitlis's play that makes it so different from those of other world class masters. I don't know what it is. And then I watched his interviews and a video of his personal life. I fell in love with his personality and humane view of everything.

    • @billmarrufo
      @billmarrufo 4 роки тому +1

      I guess not many people would agree to that asertion, but it´s been a while since I have been comparing the sound of the two and I understand and join you C C and Draziw777. Perhaps not every single piece or interpretation of Gitlis is superior to JH but in general I find more feeling, he makes his violin cry.

    I don't know why people warble on about how great this guy was. Almost everyone I've ever talked to about him not only had bad things to say about his playing, but about his complete lack of professionalism offstage. The latter element aside, why do people like his playing??? The crass inattention to the score? The strident tone? The fact that he rushes like crazy, as if he's literally playing fast because he has to pack up and catch a train in 2 minutes? Just my opinion. But it irks me when I see a lot of praise for this particular violinist. I always get a truckload of "f*** you"s and "get some class and grow some tastebuds" comments from his staunchest defenders, I have for many years and will continue to. But this guy was just never much of a musician, no matter how long his career lasted. There was a comment on another UA-cam Gitlis video not long ago that said "In the year 1990, nobody knew who Gitlis was. It wasn't until he started getting old and elderly that he started getting more attention, as one of the last survivors of the Carl Flesch class." Makes sense.

  • @MrDeastwood
    @MrDeastwood 6 років тому +2

    Recorded too fast , the pitch is not normal

    • @adrianeatonya3079
      @adrianeatonya3079 4 роки тому +4

      It's actually normal, according to the original score, which stated the violinist is to tune the violin a semitone higher, hence to sound in B flat.
