Your final solution of using the white to link the outside of the box to the inner was correct. The gold was just adding too many colors to the palette and it did not have the vibe you were going after. Kudos for persevering to fulfill your vision.
It turned out really cool in the end! I think there were just too many competing ideas at first- I worried when I saw your initial mood board about that- but once you went with the stripes coming out onto the blobs it really came together.
I love the end product that you came up with. You are so right, you have to go with your gut and make it feel right. As a result, your artistry has shone through; brava.

Hi Danie, my creativ beast yelled excited, when you promised something glace finished for the bubbly shape cut outs from plywood. In my mind I saw exposid pouring in black white und burgundy red.. I newer minded it to layers different bubbly shape but that give them the flouting look. I'm fascinated by the paint pouring techniques and now I have a idea, what I can make to cover the wear und tear of top my cupboard .The cupboard belongs to a set off a storage solution in my hallway. The ikea style straight boxy laminate furniture, in a nice wood look. That could be a easy weekend project . Now I'm thinking should I go bold with my favorite colors or more in natural colors that fits the wood, for a marbelston look?

The stripes flowing out into the outside was a last minute stroke of genius! This is a truly custom piece because it was made to fit in with Eilish’s passions and that is very cool. Off topic, I have to note that your fall decor colors go with the color scheme of Taylor Swift’s Midnights album. Two of my favorite creative women loving a similar vibe.
Nothing I would put in my room, but you fullfilled what she wanted in a stunning way! I liked the idea of the creativity overspilling from the beginning and are glad you decided to paint it black and white instead of gold! I'd personally prefere it if the layer underneath it would have been completly mattblack but thats just a tiny detail. And the upholstering turned out so great! :)

Rather than go on and on effusively about how much I loved every step of this project and how each of the different iterations you gave it was gorgeous instead I am going to recommend that you auction off tickets to be an audience who just sits behind a screen screaming positive motivational things at you. Like a really introverted cheerleading squad. I would bid on those tickets. I don't even live In the same country as you and I would still come out to yell "oh my God you're doing great!"
This really inspired me to some day make a Mimic chest... I have no idea where I would have it or what I would do with it. But I really want a Mimic chest now. xD xD xD
I love watching your videos and I have been subscribed to your channel for years, but for some reason I can’t see your new videos on my feeds unless i look for your channel. So every week I look for your videos so I can watch them.
So for the tufted look all you have to do is drill holes in the wood where you mark them out. As you place each button you pull the fabric so it's nice and smooth. You won't get that loose middle area that happened to you and yes you would staple as you go. You put one or two staples to hold the fabric and the rest is added as you smooth the fabric. Then you put any type of fabric in the back normal a thin black one to cover it up. If I'm wrong and it was not lose I'm sorry it look that to me on the video

Ugh I can feel your pain and frustration!! But honestly it turned out soo good! In my mind I thought the red should have been darker, a little more dusty darker red! This way it feels more old circus vibe with the stripes, and less goth. BUT YOU PUT IN AN FREKING WHOLE ROOM DESIGN ITNO ONE PIECE OF FURNITURE! no wonder you were so stressed out about it! Usually your pull the design together with furniture, wallpaint, lighting, curtains & decor! You had to work all that into one piece of furniture what usually is done with a whole room! But you did incredible! ❤️
Would've made the stripping a little more zebra-ish by making them a little more narrower to Look more like the actual Zebra stripes especially inside of the chest ..... However, "t Love it>>> Anyway😍... I Would've kept it>> Too 🥰...Love the initial color & that velvet seat and those Feet are so good then the puzzle overlay was great loved it edges with gold...Looks so Kool Everyway you Actually painted it did worked but was Diffinately a Different take each time on some absolutely fabulous ideas each time You just overthink Yourself as each time you painted it it Changed the perception of the 🧩 piece completely Which I Just Loved about Your imagination

As I sit looking at TWO old pine boxes that I've had for years and very functional beat up. Add in my gkids stickers. I would love your creation that doesn't match my house. I have been considering turning them into Wabi Sabi rocks. My home has been mid-century modern for decades. Moving to New Mexico added in a bit of local art. Oh how I want an Adobe house! Even an Adobe tiny house. But hey, I made a 10x10 zen garden between my she shed becoming tiny house and a triangular storage shed becoming a bathing garden. That could turn my 840 sf house into a giant greenhouse with a couple skylights. Ahhhhh dreams.
