I just got into fragrances almost two years ago and now really love vintage fragrances. I’m a man but I love them so much it dose matter if they are male or female targeted . I still haven’t tried this. But I love Kouros, Lapidus Yatagan,Aramis,Aramis 900, Cabochard, Elizabeth Taylor passion for women white Diamonds, Lauder for men, Rochas femme boss number one. Please keep doing retro and vintage fragrances

Great video review. It’s definitely NOT a fragrance for young men under the age of 30. It’s a very mature, sophisticated, sexy classy fragrance. And super masculine, for mature men who are confident about their masculinity. It’s not a fresh or clean fragrance, being even a little dirty, animalic. Young guys are drawn to light, citrusy, fresh clean fragrances like Davidoff’s Cool Water or Bleu De Chanel. Me, like many men over the age of 40, like deep, heady scents that match their level-headedness and maturity. Antaeus for Men is definitely that.
Love the content. Brilliant job. Bought my 2nd bottle today. Had to back it up. I have never had a signature sent, but with a decent collection I think I’ve found it in Antaeus.

It’s not overpowering once it dries down. I find it gets better as the hours go by, but not something I would spray right before jumping in the car full of people. Once 30-40 minutes passes it’s good to go and by 3-4hrs it’s in its sweet spot. I remember when I first bought it me and my GF hated it when it was just sprayed on the tester. Then after looking at other options and back at the Chanel section smelt the test paper from 20-30min earlier and it was amazing. We both hated it when freshly sprayed but ended up being a fav once dried down.
This is when a perfume is well made! The dry down tells us if the fragrance is well made and of good quality. When only the head notes are great and the dry down disappointing then we should keep our fingers away from that perfume. Unfortunately nowadays people have no patience to try perfumes on the right way and give them time to develop on the skin. People want satisfaction fast and that leads the perfume companies to making perfumes that convince in the opening notes immediately but then are a mess in the dry down... perfume needs time to mix with our skin chemistry and time to settle down on our skin and that is something people just tend to forget when purchasing new fragrances... xoxo
It’s a sales tactic employed by lots of brands nowadays. They know most consumers spray and smell right away then quickly move on to the next one if it’s not initially appealing. So a fragrance that opens nice will by default sell better even if it dries down is terrible or has no staying power.
I love this perfume. For me, it is my absolute favourite, totally. After reading the list of ingredients, I know why. Those items have an ecclesiastic theme. Antaeus brings back my childhood memories of grand church services and incense. A brilliant perfume. I love it.

Probably my favorite bottle design of any fragrance. Very nice, quality fragrance, masculine. However in my opinion it smells of a cologne from the past, very 80’s I can see this on someone in their 50’s. I personally couldn’t see myself wearing this at least not anytime soon.
If you want a stronger Antaeus you can go for Diva(Emanuel Ungaro),At the beggining it's aldehidic mossy but wait 10 min it transforms in a dark earthy rose and a beautiful little animalic honey.Diva in my skin turns really masculin and its formulatet also by Polge
Seems you've just been reviewing the old version of ANTAEUS, and not the reformulated version. The fact is that the vintage spray is silver. The reformulated version houses a black spray.
Antaeus is good but definitely smells dated. It's like a cross between Kouros and Drakkar Noir to me. Egoiste on the other hand is timeless and could easily pass for a modern niche fragrance. It is very expensive smelling. I'd say Egoiste is probably my favorite fragrance ever created for men.
Because its not leathery to me… at least not in the conventional way. But also, magazines just copy and paste any text the brand marketing teams churn out. Very little to no thought whatsoever goes into the articles written by those magazines. Xoxo

Got the Antaeus from Nordstroms last Saturday--amazing! I think I can wear this to the office with only one spray to the chest. I'm picking up the rose note only after a few minutes. Between this and Pour Monsieur(of which I've used half the bottle already), I'm gravitating towards this one. For now, at least!

You mean in the scent intself? If it smells like makeup?... Perhaps a little bit in the far dry-down. I can see it blend the powdery touch with the metallic vibe and those two might give off a makeup compact vibe of sorts...
Hi there. I have 50 ml bottle. The batch is 2020. I have seen the new bottles. 100 ml 2021 batches. Are 100 ml bottles weaker than 50 ml? More water down...? Or not Please what is your experiences with Chanel 50 & 100ml bottles? Cheers
They should not be different in terms of concentration and intensity from 100ml to 50ml within the same concentration. However, if the bottle is vintage, it could have aged differently or could have been influenced by light or humidity or heat differently and hence smells now more or less intense or even off in the top notes.
I have vintage bottles of Polo and Drakkar Noir Cosmair editions. Vintage Quorum. They project better than new ones but they have problem with longevity. Maybe because the time or less synthetic ingredients. I don't know why is that. Anyway I will buy Chanel Anteaus 100 ml 2021 batch. I hope it's probably the same juice inside as my 50 ml bottle wich is from 2020. Anyway I have seen more than ten times your reviews about Pour Monsieur edt. I bought it few months ago. It's amazing earthy scent from the past. Much better than Eau Savage and Pinaud Clubman. Thank you man for helping me

Yep, bath gel is gone. They still make the EDT, the deo stick, spray and after shave lotion in some countries.
