  • It’s a beautiful day!
    My euphorbia is leafing out, the callindrinia spectibalis is spectacular and, yikes! I’ve got some aloe mite!
    We’ll check out some recent projects and talk about heat and how to keep your succulents safe.
    Enjoy the walkabout and I’ll see you in the garden!

      It's been devastating, scary and so sad...hope you weren't directly affected Paige, luckily here in Port Elizabeth situation is tense but under control, but i agree, these daily videos of Laura's have been a hugely welcome relief from the horrendous videos doing the rounds here.

    On the pink Jasmine if you put some kind of trellis for it to climb up you can train it to climb up and it will be gorgeous

    Me watching Laura Eubanks touring her garden is equivalent to me visiting both an art gallery AND a botanical garden....
    Maybe cut back the pink jasmin to like half the size, and than add the cage?

    Hey Laura, if you chop off the Sea Dragon’s flower stem, pop the stem into your garden of death. Sometimes the flower stems of big Echeverias will grow roots and then babies along the stem. It’s magic!

    Love WW's! Ideas -- Maybe plant those front porch aloes/agaves in the front yard under your tree (take out the aeoniums). I still say the front yard barrels would look so good with some portulcaria afras somewhere nearby -- maybe in the flanking front porch planter with the sticks on fire? They don't need much maintenance. I am in love with the variegated millia in the backyard in the pot -- I have never seen one here in L.A.

    Can you believe it's mid July 2021? Already? Remember mid July of 2020? Go scientists. It's so uplifting in light of the 2020 human pandemic (please no more) to observe the life cycles of succulents rolling along always wanting to survive and thrive. The constancy of nature is very grounding and full of serenity. Those gutters are amazing I want more eye level succulents in all those colors, shapes and textures. You could make a million more cornucopias easy.

    You should put that aloe that's in the pot, in your front area where you have your aeoniums. He will have lots of room to grow.

    The wind chopped my ghosties (4 branched out of one stem), which I was letting them do a bonsai look. I reset them in the same pot with the stems. Now, they're taking off and the original stem's have tons of babies. It looks amazing!

  • @shereeralph3802
    @shereeralph3802 3 роки тому

    This was a fun walk about Wednesday! 😊 Have you considered putting the large "pouty" aloe that is in the pot on your front porch, into the front garden? It's winter here, but I'm getting so much inspo from what you are doing... and I'm still getting leaves to propagate to build up my stock to do some tapestry inspired work. 😁 We are in a subtropical climate, so I have to watch how long the rainfall makes them wet in summer.

  • @robingrunzweig1880

    pink jasmine: find a trellis that will fit in that pot: the jasmine wants to climb, that's what it does, and if you keep cutting it back you will miss the magnificent bloom again in the fall (smells amazing! i have a massive one that climbs and cascades over a wall)... so happy i found your channel... for all who would like, please hold one of my mama aeoniums in your thoughts as i will be burying her later this week... i allowed her to bloom a GORGEOUS bloom stalk, she kept many, many, MANY bees very happy through our summer (orange county, ca), but alas, she is finally passing on and i will bury her in my green trash sometime this week, sigh... but the babies live on!! thanks for this video, love your walkabouts!

    Weee...got in 4 minutes into dropping!
    Question: I agree with you about the bloom sapping the energy from the soft succulents (because I saw it happen to my imbricata and titubans), but is it true as well for aloes? Do the blooms stress require as much energy from aloes as they do from the soft succies?

    • @LauraEubanks
      @LauraEubanks  3 роки тому +1

      Generally speaking, aloes don’t suffer the bloom stress of many soft succulents.
