Nice bro, Thailand is a very beautiful country, very expensive, you have a better life, the people there are warm and kind, very loving, you have the best life, and Thailand is better than America, brother. There are even countries close to Thailand, such as Japan, South Korea, China , Indonesia , Philippines you visit them too 😊
Must be nice. Very jealous. When I visited, granted I was on vacation, but I definitely got the distinct impression that attitudes there, even around Bangkok, were just way more relaxed, casual, guards-down than my normal experience anywhere in America. Talked to a French dude in my hotel - same take. You emigrated from San Jose, right? So you'll know what I mean when I make the contrast to the pervasive and perpetual default hostility that exists around the SF Bay Area. Man, I really need to set up a 2nd home over there and start spending more time there ....
Glad you are happy in Thailand. Hopefully it's not just a year and a half honeymoon period 👍☺️🇹🇭 Anyway, you've arrived in the Buddhist country. Our life is short. I would like to suggest that you try studying and practicing Dhamma. Sustainable physical and mental happiness. 🙏😇😍

Great video im a 37 year old moved to Dominican Republic in 2020. Also moved from former soviet union at 7 years old to Toronto but left probably same reasons as you... i havent bought in d.r yet because i want to see Thailand first but i like small town life and Thailand seems like another Toronto let me know what you think... Great video
Hey, that’s a very similar story. I’ve never been to Toronto, but Thailand has very large cities like Bangkok, and tiny little village towns. It all depends what you’re looking for. Come, check it out and see what you think.
Never even crossed my mind. There was nothing that I needed to bring here anyways. I mean if you think about it, what do you really want to bring to another country? You can buy new clothes, you can buy new furniture, there was nothing I wanted to bring with me.
If I was going to move to Thailand and sell/give away my possessions I could easily do that except my Heavy Metal records, cds and shirts. They would have to come with me. 🤘
I actually gave all of my records to one of my friends. I only had a couple dozen. Once I started selling things, it was just easy to let everything go.
makes me think , yeah i have bought a ton of stuff , but most of that i dont need other than to save money by doing stuff myself (talking tools here) if i go to thailand it will be because i have gathered enough money to never have to work again , so why would you want to have tools that you whont use but once every 3 years or so going to take me some time sorting stuff out and getting rid of other stuff

Thank you for sharing all that. I really appreciate it.
Well done video, I’m considering retiring in Thailand and this video makes me want to come there sooner rather than later
Do it!
Going to a temple will make you calmer. And kindness will make you happy.
I couldn’t agree more.
great insight, I'm sure it has improved your health and well being ! Matt
Yes it totally has.
Good attitude Serge! Throw yourself in the deep end.
Arms flailing!
@@LifewithSerg I was a bit the same but I had done a 6 month stint in HCMC a year before to get my feet wet. First time in Asia. Best to just go with the flow, be yourself, be aware, be relaxed...all good!
Buddhism in Thailand contributes a lot to achieve calmness .
I'm in Chiang mai, full of old andcgrand temples and monks who are willing to have a chat if you initiate it.
I’m looking forward to finally going to Chiang Mai next month.
And respect crimes seems to be low petty theft is rare the west has lost their way.
If you feel stress and very high pressure from working.escape and moving to Thailand or Sea.Asia.This is life you can choosen.and my recommend going Cambodia,Philippines,Laos,Vietnam.must be good for recovering your heart.❤Cheer Serg.Have a nice day.
A different plan on visiting some of those other areas next year
love your honesty
Only way to fly. Thanks.
Nice bro, Thailand is a very beautiful country, very expensive, you have a better life, the people there are warm and kind, very loving, you have the best life, and Thailand is better than America, brother.
There are even countries close to Thailand, such as Japan, South Korea, China , Indonesia , Philippines you visit them too 😊
I will go visit next year. Yes
Yep, after 42 years in Cali, it was time for me to bail. Glad you had a great time in Thailand.
Have a nice day 😊🫰❤️🎊🎉🇹🇭
Thank you! You too!
I’m moving there next year, thank you for sharing Serg 🙏 will be easier for me I can understand Thai but speak not too well though lol .👍
You’re one step ahead of me if you have that kind of a grasp of the language. You’ll be speaking it in no time.
เป็นกำลังใจให้ ครับ
I’m happy to hear that.
Glad you are happy in Thailand. Hopefully it's not just a year and a half honeymoon period 👍☺️🇹🇭
Anyway, you've arrived in the Buddhist country. Our life is short.
I would like to suggest that you try studying and practicing Dhamma. Sustainable physical and mental happiness. 🙏😇😍
Great idea. Thank you.
@@LifewithSergMeditation is the worth peace of mind.
My life hasn't changed yet, oh that's right, because I haven't moved yet.. but will be eventually 🤣
Dave in Thailand! Woooo
I like to retire to Thailand with my wife in the future. This video makes me more convinced, I like Thai culture to :)
Hey, that’s great. This place definitely has its shortcomings, but there is no utopia. I hope you have a wonderful time when you move here.
@@LifewithSergAgree, Thank you. Enjoy yourself :)
Thumbs up 👍 Serg
Many thanks
Welcome to Thailand!!
Don't forget Motor Expo next month, please make a nice vdo. 😂😂😂
Oh yes. Will do it again.

Profound message! I am still not good at dealing with the unexpected. Anyhow, it teaches me to believe and have faith in God. Btw, thanks for reminding me to clean up my closet. I usually don't collect stuffs but I still have too much clothes 😂
Awesome. Go clean it out! You’ll feel much better.
Hi Serg. During your 1 year and a half in Thailand, Have you ever tried American Fried Rice "Khao Pad American" 😄😄😄 If not, you should try it. Almost every restaurant have this on the menu. 👍👍.
I actually have not.
Travelled Thailand numerous times over past 30 years and that is a new one for me as well. Let me guess, hot dogs in it?
@@FOCUSonASIA13it’s fried rice with ketchup, raisin, small cubes carrots, peas then dish together with fried egg, sausages, and fried chicken. My favourite dish when I was young. Probably because of raisins and ketchup 😂
That is a mix@@Tarnrop
Japanese have a similar fired rice with ketchup not sure of the name@@Tarnrop
I need you try "Thailand Dark Side"
Maybe open you eye..!! Hahaha 😆
What makes you think I haven’t tried it? 🤫😬
I have wanted to make the move from Antigua to Thailand single early 2020. But I have absolutely no money.
It’s never too late. Make a plan and start working it. I’m confident that all of us can accomplish anything in our lives that we set our minds to. I wish you nothing but the best.
@@LifewithSerg Thanks.
Nice vlog !
You can experience your no 1 to 5 in any country in.SEA countries.😊
Yes true.
หอบทรัพย์สินมาอยู่ไทยแล้วบอสท่านนี้ดูเหมือนจะชอบเมืองไทยเป็นพิเศษครับผม
Yes love it.
Some people like Philippines, but for me Thailand it’s the best in Asia. But Japan too lol. For living Thailand have everything. Beautiful beaches. Good health care. Good food. Cheap rent. And a lot of culture, the only thing I don’t like it’s. Too far. Lol
Ha ha that’s funny.
another great vlog. very meaningful. what made you finally take the plunge? i think i am reaching there but fear of unknown is very real. thanks
Go watch my video, titled “the truth about why I moved to Thailand might surprise you” it explains all.
time to binge watch ! lol happy friday :-) @@LifewithSerg
how can you sustain your life in thailand
I’m building my police pension, saving private pensions, stocks and shares. Get the house paid off and I’m there as soon as possible. Uk life is not what it used to be… and sadly never will again.
Sounds like you have a really good plan.
@@LifewithSerg it’s my wife 50th so hope to be over next year, live to meet up in Bangkok. My wife Japanese and we considered Japan or Thailand as our retirement base.
😊 The best way, Serg, to master thai language is to marry a pretty thai girl.
Oh I dunno about that. I’ve held off marriage for 52 years. 😂🤣
This is interesting volg for thai people.
May I talk about this volg on my utubechannel?
May I share small this clip on my channel?

Great video im a 37 year old moved to Dominican Republic in 2020. Also moved from former soviet union at 7 years old to Toronto but left probably same reasons as you... i havent bought in d.r yet because i want to see Thailand first but i like small town life and Thailand seems like another Toronto let me know what you think...
Great video
Hey, that’s a very similar story. I’ve never been to Toronto, but Thailand has very large cities like Bangkok, and tiny little village towns. It all depends what you’re looking for. Come, check it out and see what you think.
@@LifewithSergliving in Bangkok dont you want to able to live close to a beach so you can swim daily.... also traffic and air pollution issues?
did you ever explore the viability and costs of shipping your stuff over to Thailand?
Never even crossed my mind. There was nothing that I needed to bring here anyways. I mean if you think about it, what do you really want to bring to another country? You can buy new clothes, you can buy new furniture, there was nothing I wanted to bring with me.
Love
Thanks!!
5 years until I retire to Thailand
It will come soon!
Where is this park? The name please.
Look in the written description below the video, there’s a Google Maps link there. It’s called Benchasiri park.
1:58 Hi Serg! What park is that? Not many parks in BKK allow skating.
I put the Google Maps link in the written description below the video. It’s Benchasiri park right next to the Phrom Pong BTS.
What kind of Visa are you staying on? Tourist Visa is only 2 months.
Yes. I’m not on a tourist visa.
❤❤❤❤❤❤
😊🙏
makes me think , yeah i have bought a ton of stuff , but most of that i dont need other than to save money by doing stuff myself (talking tools here)
if i go to thailand it will be because i have gathered enough money to never have to work again , so why would you want to have tools that you whont use but once every 3 years or so
going to take me some time sorting stuff out and getting rid of other stuff
Oh man, I had a HUGE tool chest so I could work on stuff at home. Loved it, but don’t really miss it.
What Sheriff's Department did you work at? I'm a Federal Officer at the VA Police.
Oh nice. Never been to VA. I worke
Ok Serg, stay on the path.
Yep. Thanks.
What kind of visa u get to Thailand
There are many different options, and what works for one person isn’t always suited for another.
Serg do you still speak Russian? My daughter moved from Thailand when she was 5 and forgot all the Thai she knew.
I still speak Russian, mostly fluently. However, I think I now have an English accent. Lol.
@@LifewithSerg that’s what people say about my wife that she doesn’t have Thai accent anymore.
2400 USD/month is enough to live comfortably in Thailand?
For me it’s plenty. For someone else it will be too much, and someone else not enough. We all has different definitions of “comfortable”.
If you live like Thai middle class, that amount is more than enough.
