I never tire of watching you or Bonny. I love text pages, coffee dyed, neutrals too. I've been dyeing a lot of paper using oak leaves, blueberries, dandelions, avocado pits, etc. and having fun using the papers in my collage. Thank you for the inspiration.
Oh that sounds amazing Susan! Mostly I stick to coffee dye but I’ve done eco dying and batch dying with iron and tea and one very vivid beetroot dying session 😁 love it all!!
@@pennyrosejournals It's all good----I love coffee dyeing. The oak leaves and galls yield wonderful neutrals and I've been able to get some super nice grey tones using vinegar/rust to modify. I'm in northern California so I'm coming into warm weather, it's paper dyeing season for me!
I have several phones books and I will definitely use them for collage. I also use the phone books for pressing leaves and flowers. While looking for something else I just found 3 phone books in a closet. One of them is a smaller size (6 x 9) which will be nice for collage.
For those of you who don't get phone books anymore you can use a catalog or those "home" freebie magazines.
I’ve been finding some very interesting and cool ephemera at the antique malls here in Chicago but I also found really old and weathered books that will be great for making collage fodder. I love your scraps and can’t wait to get back home to start on my own phone book 😊
Oh the books sound amazing 😁 I am excited for you to get into it too. It’s so much fun 😊
I started my phone book recently but digressed again, back into making painted papers from book pages. I extract pages right after finishing reading them. I bought these books on sale at my library exactly for that dual purpose - read first and then paint or dye and stamp, stencil or doodle on (to be eventually used in JJs or as “wallpaper” on my numerous storage solutions). But i will get back to the phone book for sure, promise.
I started gluing my painted papers and paper onto the phonebook page. ❤
That is a great project. Dual purpose!! Entertainment and fun. I like it 👍
I love this phone book idea. Unfortunately they don't deliver them where I live anymore.
A magazine will be just as effective, something with less glossy pages. Or even a newspaper. Phonebooks are great because the paper is thin and the spine is very forgiving but anything will do really. Even a paperback book.
@@pennyrosejournals Thank you. ❤️
I am using my phone book with collage to create pockets. I started collaging in the phone book with scrapes after a project was done. I was wondering if I could glue them PVA or Fabri tack. My hands hurt after a while using a stick. What do you think?
Love your video. ❤
You can use any glue you are comfortable with. I know Bonny has used PVA in hers. It might cause a bit of buckling on the pages if it’s too wet but I can’t see how that is a bad thing really. We are glueing in a phone book. No one should be looking for perfection 😝
I really can't wait until your book is full and you start using the pages! 😄🩵💚
It might be a bit of a wait I’m afraid. Although I am getting through it quite quickly at the moment, I think it will slow down as my scraps diminish.
