"The Holy Spirit makes prayer effective, natural, and real. When a believer is praying in the power of the Spirit, there are no mistakes to be made. But when the flesh becomes the lord of the house, demons will take over. About eight years ago, I visited a church and during the time of prayer, I watched some guys being aggressive in their prayers. But after a few minutes, their prayers changed, and it was as if they were playing a dancing game before the Lord.
Then, the Lord suddenly opened my spiritual eyes, and I saw an open vision. It will shock you to know that demons also come to the place of prayer to enjoy the prayers of blind, ignorant, prideful, disobedient, and self-magnifying Christians. In the open vision, I saw a demon standing behind these enthusiastic guys, and it was dancing behind them in the church, mimicking their movements. I was shocked watching the vision and the praying guys at the same time. From that time on, my attitude in prayer changed."

Wow, this is informative. So if you don't repent of your sins your prayers are ineffective. They don't affect demons in any way.

Do not be anxious. Do you know that you're free but the devil wants you to be afraid and think that you're still in captivity.
What you should do is to confess your sins. Most of the sins that the devil uses to hold people back are Idolatry, blood guilt and lust. Confess those sins truthfully and cry to God to cleanse you with the blood of Jesus. Ask Him to dismiss any accusation in the spiritual realm that the devil is accusing you of. Pray this prayer everyday and ask Go reveal the the exact sin that the devil is accusing you of. He will reveal through dreams. After you know the exact sin, repent and declare that the covenant of peace through Jesus speaks for you. The moment you accepted Jesus your sins were forgiven. By confessing your sins, you are released from captivity.
To defeat satan you need to confess your sins and repent. You're more than a conquerer in Christ Jesus.
