I know it's 3 years later but that was actually intentional. Back when this theme was introduced. TNF only started Thanksgiving and ran to the end of the season. So it was very much a holiday season kinda thing.
War song actually maybe something like out of World War 1 and World War 2 due to the sound of bells clanging which the stakes were high politically and humanity wise
And hear comes number hohoho as he takes the field. Santa was a d1 varsity front lineman in his highschool years and has now made it to the North Football league. He will be starter for tonight. And what’s that folks, looks like someone stole someone’s cookies before the game.
I think they used those because when the theme first started being used there weren't Thursday games until week 8 or 9 and at that point Christmas season was around the corner
Its not because NFL Network used to do Thursday Night games a long long long time ago exclusively. Eventually they split coverage with CBS and then NBC and used their music even for exclusive NFL network games. CBS used a theme that was kind of a miscture oif this and their own Posthus Zone theme in 2014-2015, NBC and NFL network had a totally differnet but still good theme. FOX eventually had Thursday games and had all theior own production. Now Amazon has all Thursday games. NFL Network still has a few exclusive Saturday games starting now late in season and back to their own exclusive production as well and this theme is back as I saw with Broncos and Lions. Pretty good theme.
I can imagine this theme on a snow game in the biggest game of the regular season, two extreme powerhouses, both heated rivals, going at it in the biggest game of the season for division supremacy and a first round bye, the sound of pads clashing like gunshots fills the cold winter air as the barrage of points begins for both sides, were onto the final play of the game, the away team went for 2 and got the home team on the 1, with the home team pinned and the away team thinking they’re gonna win, this is where they shine, the qb hikes the ball, scrambles away from three line men and throws the biggest deep ball of his entire life, the receiver, undersized and slow knows this is one shot, he leaps up 30 feet into the air and outmuscles the 6’2 defender for the touch down
I always wished for a Brett Favre and Peyton Manning Superbowl. Either Green Bay Packers or Minnesota Vikings vs Indianapolis Colts that would make my Superbowl dream match up come true. But alas it will only remain a dream. 😢

It was 2 years ago in the North Dakota state championship my senior year. ball at their 50 with 25 seconds. I was a safety and they played this when we ran out on the field for my final drive ever. they lost 7 yards, which included my sack to win and end my senior season. Miss it.
As a Ravens fan, this reminds me of that late 2000s early 2010s team with ray Lewis, Ed Reed Joe Flacco leading the charge on offence passing to Todd heap and Dennis pitta. then Billy Cundiff kicking in everything and when we needed to punt Sam Koch would get the job done. I am very happy to have the Lamar show but that is what this song reminds me of.
📺When I hear the "Christmas Bells" mixed in the main part of the theme song, I don't think about opening presents at Christmastime; I think about watching the NFL on Christmas Day; giggle!🤭
I'm happy that Fox/NFL Network brought this theme back for NFL Network exclusive games. Those include the Thursday Night games that aren't airing on Fox, and all of the NFL Network Specials (those games that air on Saturdays in December).
Including the only game I care about this season on Thursday night... The first one (minus Bears and Packers.) Bucs at my Carolina Panthers! #KeepPounding, baby.
I've only watched Thursday Night Football once, and that was this year. Plus, I hate CBS's football broadcasts. FOX has higher quality images and their graphics are very minimal so half your screen isn't covered up with crap and you can actually see the game.
This hits different on a cold November night around thanksgiving
No longer here
Dam bro you gave me chills reading this comment.. i miss those days i HATE amazon prime Thursday night football and that stupid ass theme song
I miss this
Christmas too
Yeah just listen to it outside. December, January 🙂
Sounds like an epic Christmas song
Sounds like Reel Steal

The bells sound like Xmas time lol
tru
My thoughts exactly
I think they used those because when the theme first started being used there weren't Thursday games until week 8 or 9 and at that point Christmas season was around the corner
Funny, cause there's gonna be football on Xmas this year!

Football has THE best theme music...period.
try any of UEFA's themes. WAYYYY better than any "American" football theme.

I miss the fucking bells.
Yes!
The bells just put one in the mood for the season. Football and Christmas, can't be better.

AGREED!!! I MISS THOSE BELLS
I still miss the bells !!! :'(
So upset this isn’t the theme song for Thursday Night Football anymore. BRING IT BACK.
It's NFL network theme's now
The Thursday night is a new one remember

except this is a thursday night theme and Thursday night lw only gets snoozers..... This year should be more interesting
This sounds like the game I went to last year Packers Vs. Bears the oldest and most historic Rivalry in the NFL.
@@johncase8534 Right? Always Sunday Night Football though

They don't use this one anymore?
No, they have a new one that they use.
Because CBS now owns the broadcast rights, so they use the CBS theme instead.
i hear this one on NFL Network occasionally
Okay, thanks Rusty.
This theme has always reminded me of X-mas music. All 4 networks have good football theme music.
Hi
Every time I hear the beginning I too think of Christmas time. A Thursday night game with snow and under the lights somewhere in the mid west
And because it was tnf it was probably an Andy Dalton Bengals playing a Brandon Weedon Browns....and we'd still watch!
Or in the northeast like New Jersey
Love this track. I listen to it before heading off to the gym to get myself pumped.
Now this is football music, not the new lame tamed no balls one on prime
This isn’t football music. This is war music🔥
When this starts playing, you know someone's about to get their ass kicked
this should be on EVERY playoff game for the NFL PERIOD!
Factsss🔥
AWESOME!!!! Can't get enough of this song... Theme...
When I was a kid, the bells reminded me: “Kid shit is about to go down.”
Always loved this theme

This makes Thursday even better then it already is:)
This would be perfect for the Christmas tripleheader.
This theme close to Christmas was perfect. Probably one of my absolute favorites!

BRING THIS BACK!!!
it all starts today…
It’s sad that we won’t get to hear this again. The Amazon prime TNF music just isn’t the same
WE'RE BACK BOYS!!!!!!!!
“It’s an NFC powerhouse night the Packers and Saints, Thursday night Football next on NFL Network”

This was the best when the Browns played a team during a cold thanksgiving or Christmas Day 😢

Unnecessarily hard
Why does this go so hard ? Needs to be a sample.
This is so much better than the basic remix of the NFL on CBS theme they have now.
They didn’t have to go so hard for a Thursday night
But they did :)

My favorite theme music, just brilliant listen to when I need my football fix, Rock the Bells!!!
