Define 'merciful' again? And look at the effects in the movie, half the universe gone but did it solve anything? Wow that makes so much sense! I knew he was wicked especially since he said he after he snapped he used the power of the stones to destroy themselves that way he wouldn’t be corrupted by their power.
Thanos definitely had no idea there was a celestial in Earth. His sole purpose for wiping out half of all intelligent life was his flawed belief that by doing so, he would balance the universe, but it instead had the opposite effect. As shown in Avengers: Endgame, instead of making life better, everyone was suffering. The heroes gave up, everyone was depressed because they lost people they love. It is also said that Gamora's people died out because their society couldn't sustain with half the people wiped out.

Are you serious , celestials will have no effect, the infinity stones are nothing in front of those immortal beings @@simulatedstring9029
I don't think the stones work on celestials though cus he didn't have any comment on losing any celestials since Thanos erased half so half of them should be erased too and the fact that it seems that no celestials were erased during that time makes sense that they can't be erased@@simulatedstring9029

If Thanos knew about the celestials, then he should have used the stones to get rid of them instead
He accidentally saved the Earth.
@@dnsonae Exactly, hence why I said if he knew, as in even if he knew, murdering half the universe still isn't justified
in the comic Thanos is just pathetic and stupid, he wants pop control to stop over pop when he could of just use the infinity gems to create new galaxy's and planets that can support life. the guy is just a simp for a woman that will never love him

@@simulatedstring9029 Marvel had no idea what to do after Thanos. Hell, they couldn't even fit the blip into anything besides maybe one line here or there. It might as well have never happened. The world should be in a state of absolute panic: half the planet gone (that would cause chaos), they reappear (more chaos), a titan sticking out the planet (never addressed after Eternals plus would be even more chaos). The MCU has absolutely failed at their world building.
Everyone is the hero in their own story. ❤
If only the avengers knew before taking action
5 years is also enough time for the Eternals to think again.

@@Ishane37yeah…. Thanos knew that and as such was a waste of time
I never thought of thanos as a villain, but a misunderstood Hero
More like an anti villian
He didn't know about the Tiamut, either that or he didn't care. The stones have the power to do literally anythinng once they're all together. If he was really a hero, he could've just deleted the Tiamut. His whole goal wasn't saving the universe from overpopulation, or from the emerging Tiamut, he was a bastard, who wanted to play god, and got mad when it didn't work.
I guess galaxtous is also a good guy, slurping up celestial eggs to stop the celestials from over populating and threatening the one above all.
@loudwhispre9406 tiamut helped create the stones in the comics. He wouldn't lose.

But villains will sacrifice all of his loved ones for everyone.

Yeah they do, and innocents suffer, you guys should really realize that whatever Thanos' 'Endgame' is it's no salvation, just sacrifice for a personal gain, dude wanted to impress death, so he committed Genocide in her name, you call that 'love'? Well that love cost the lives of many that are not even involved, that's the 'Mad Titan' not because everyone doesn't agree with him, but the pursuit of the said Titan for a gain which had driven it mad out of the obsession of Death.
@@zaej4317 I meant in the movies not in the comics, if you look at it at face value movie Thanos wanted half of life to mercifully dissapear so the finite resources would be enough for everyone, he sacrificed his loved ones for it. Ion know anything about comics neither do I care 😘💅
Define 'merciful' again?
And look at the effects in the movie, half the universe gone but did it solve anything? Crime was rampant, Hawkeye went rogue taking out his anger over gangs, Captai Marvel even mentioned that she had to deal with several crisis in other worlds, and missed several conferences, same with Rocket and Gamora, because of how many there are to deal with.
He didn't need the throne, he didn't need planetary slaves, and he gave it all up after he did that.
@@dnsonae yes he didn't want the throne he wanted peace.
Thanos didn’t know all of which planets had them, that’s why he needed to do it to every planet. One celestial awakening would have screwed the universe. Also thanos main reason for the snap was the celestials

Thanos I think wasn't actually a villain, he was a hero trying to save the planet earth from what's coming forth but since humans were stubborn to listen then he had to do it the hard way which makes it seems he's a villain. To this day, I feel Thanos was never a villian...he just did what he wanted to the wrong way.
i disagree. his plan was the most time effective, none-biased and direct way to solve all problems(the ones he sought to solve). how much time would it take for the celestials to emerge and destroy the planet? how long would it take to travel from planet to planet? how long would each planets culling take? aside from those questions there are many other unknowns.
