To answer your question does the Black Ghost belong in the last call lineup? ABSOLUTELY!!! This car was a Detroit street racing legend and as far as I know, undefeated and the original car still runs well and all original.
I rented a Charger Scat Pack WB on vacation last year. It was an absolute blast to drive. My goal is to try and rent a Hellcat this year. However, if I had to chose between a Scat Pack and Hellcat for myself, I'd choose the Scat. The Hellcat has outrageous power that is no doubt fun, but I feel like the Scat Pack was the perfect amount of power for the street. I was able to keep it in Track mode and I always felt in control of the car. I could break it loose if I wanted, but it wasn't losing traction at speed like in this video lol. And it was still plenty fast. Best case scenario would be a Scat Pack daily and a Hellcat for the weekend!
@@defyyourlogic487 I mean it's all subjective. I enjoyed the Scat in a different way than you enjoy your 240i. I don't race, it was more about the experience. I've driven other performance cars, but the V8 sound and big body of the Charger checked the boxes for me.
I guess some people like this but IMO I think a more "balanced" ride is more fun on the street. My c6z06 with 505hp was just about as perfect as I've driven. Well maybe my 350z or '05 Mustang (after installing an Eibach suspension). The problem with all that power is the constant throttle modulation as you attempt to keep traction. But hey, drive what you think is the most fun for you!!
I don’t see how you can compare this to a gt500. Hellcats are pretty much meant to do one thing: go fast in a straight line. The gt500 is BOTH fast in a straight line and can hold its own in the corners.
They compete in the same two-door muscle car segment. There's always differentiation in a segment, otherwise everyone would sell the same car, just in a different color.
So sad that they are ending this vehicle. I wish I had enough money to purchase one, more as an investment than anything because they will go up in value.
Where there's a will there's a way! I was driving my stock 1995 Geo Metro the other day and I ran up against one of these Black Ghost Challengers and he took off fast and so did I. I actually beat him 3 straight times. Give the credit to God if you must, but that Geo proved that it's not afraid to take on the so-called fast cars. I am proud of my car and of myself for not giving up.
0:37 Shame they never did that with the Challengers. They did it in the grill but the Dodge across the hood was classic 70s-90s Dodge with that typeface.
Love the satin silver wheels wish Dodge had offered that with all the HC's...just waiting on my 23 HC Red Eye in bright RED and the first mod I'll be making is taking those black wheels off having them glass bead blasted then coated with a bright silver paint then clear coated.
This video just convinced me to keep my 22 scat pack and not get a hellcat because of all the money I'll save and probably will go faster with some slicks on the back than most all challengers.
You have to learn how to launch these cars. They are not easy and it takes a lot of practice. Launch control is not the way to extract the best times. I can consistently do 0-60 in 3.6-3.7 in my 21 Hellcat and 3.3-3.4 in my 21 Redeye on stock tires and on unprepped, but clean surfaces and all documented. This has taken time to master, but it can be done, especially after owning 4 of these cars. So 4.5 to 60 is probably correct for someone who has no idea how or the experience, to properly launch the challenger.
Two things you did that I've never done with my Redeye, drive in ECO and turn TC off, don't care about mileage because I'm in love with the Whine, and with TC on, the car still breaks loose at 70 mph punches.
The worst part is that 5-10 year range where these will all be cheap and even more teenagers in Milwaukee, Detroit, LA, phoenix, etc. will be getting in massive debt at their minimum wage job to buy one, just to crash it into a family within the first 30 days.

As far as lap times are concerned, the GT500 will certainly be faster, straight ahead is something completely different. So one day he decided he would do donuts in the parking lot, almost hit the superintendent police called dad took the car away and he had to walk the rest of the time until he graduated. Should really be illegal for a 16 year old to drive a hellcat.
Make a video of which 💪🚗 is better like the jailbreak break challenger or the black ghost. Redeye challenger widebody jailbreak is my dream car i am 14 years old i live in Africa Ethiopia and show me which one is better. ❤❤❤❤
If you drive without your seatbelt in this car does the light and jingle go away after a while? My mustang lets me drive without my seatbelt because after about 10 minutes the light and jingle go away.
I don't like how they are ending a great car. They are difficult to find and the dealers are continuing to bend people over with inflated mark ups. I bought a 2021 challenger scat pack. Had to buy a 21 because they quit taking orders for the 22 and it was months later before I guess you could order a 23. Never have figured out how to order or find a 23. The 21 I found I really like but the dealer charged me $500. More than the original window sticker.
If I had the money for a muscle car, I would always prefer to drive a hemi v8 instead of another one. The Mustang, or even the ne Corvette Z06 with its completely new high rev flat-plane v8 may perform better on the track, but will never reach the deep bubbling and torque of such a large displacement. The 392 Super bee would also be enough for me, I honestly find the loud supercharger whining less beautiful than the pure v8 sound. And almost 500 hp are already more than enough. In addition, this great look and design language make the challenger for me the currently most beautiful muscle car there is. It's a pity that Dodge says goodbye to these legendary V8 engines for its muscle cars in the future and then you only get to hear a tuned leaf blower.
Would be cool if Dodge went a step further and designed a 'Black Ghost' logo just like they did with the Hellcat. Sure, it doesn't come with a stickshift like the OG Blacl Ghost. But these two, I think would be the cherry on top to justify its outlandish price. Six speed. Custom Black Ghost logo for exclusively other than the OG DODGE that sits on the front. And maybe I'll sacrifice everything for a overpriced Hellcat...
Like someone would ever daily drive one of these and use that trunk... nitpicking IMO. Also, you should check out AutotopNL review of AEC tuned Hellcat xr widebody. That thing is great at destroying tires. Nice review!
