@@perz400 depends on how you drive it but yes it could be a lot better going from 807 down to 500 and driving lightly
@@perz400 I would say yes, and the Challenger also has a cylinder deactivation. As long as you do not call up any power you are partly with a 4 cylinder on the road. Of course, such a large displacement always has a high basic consumption, but this can be pushed down a lot thanks to modern technology and a relaxed Foot

Dodge is like yeah we’re ending production of the Hellcat motor but first here’s a couple thousand “limited edition” variants. Lol I love it!
Pagani did it first with the Zonda. Though there's a big difference between a small boutique Italian manufacture that sells multi-million dollar rolling art pieces and a large corporate entity that's running a platform left over from the Daimler takeover from the 90s.

I saw the Hagerty documentary about the original black ghost. Very good story about the man who raced it. I got emotional.

It was a cool story. And the story about the man is true. Unfortunatly the story about the car is not. Its one of the biggest scams in automotive history. Really sad.

Ford is much smarter: they will sell us Mustangs as long as the public will buy. Nobody is clamoring for an electric Challenger or Charger.
I guess some people like this but IMO I think a more "balanced" ride is more fun on the street. My c6z06 with 505hp was just about as perfect as I've driven. Well maybe my 350z or '05 Mustang (after installing an Eibach suspension). The problem with all that power is the constant throttle modulation as you attempt to keep traction. But hey, drive what you think is the most fun for you!!

Dodge knows that you'll be doing burnouts with those as soon as you leave the dealership, and that you'll have to buy new tires soon anyway. :)

The upgrade is pretty reasonable price wise from Dodge. They should not have built this special edition with all seasons, as they offer a better tire from the factory.
These last hellcats are going to be almost an instantly great investment...people will be kicking themselves for not buying one

Got me a last call scat pack and loving it. You will have more fun, driving the scat pack than the hellcat and a scat pack has plenty of power.

one thing i dont like is when special editions/ higher trims dont have their own special badges. it should have a ghost emblem on the fender where the hellcat badge normally is.
An external badge would be nice. This car only has one under the hood
The original Black Ghost from the 70s had an African flag badge on the fender. I was disappointed that they didn’t do it for this model, it would’ve really added a nice touch, especially for the ridiculous price

Love the satin silver wheels wish Dodge had offered that with all the HC's...just waiting on my 23 HC Red Eye in bright RED and the first mod I'll be making is taking those black wheels off having them glass bead blasted then coated with a bright silver paint then clear coated.
They did offer the silver wheels on all the hellcats for 23.
I rented a Charger Scat Pack WB on vacation last year. It was an absolute blast to drive. My goal is to try and rent a Hellcat this year. However, if I had to chose between a Scat Pack and Hellcat for myself, I'd choose the Scat. The Hellcat has outrageous power that is no doubt fun, but I feel like the Scat Pack was the perfect amount of power for the street. I was able to keep it in Track mode and I always felt in control of the car. I could break it loose if I wanted, but it wasn't losing traction at speed like in this video lol. And it was still plenty fast. Best case scenario would be a Scat Pack daily and a Hellcat for the weekend!
Scat is perfect power? Lol I gap them like stock WRXs. Power means nothing when you weigh as much as a house. Go drive a real car.

Scat Pack is definitely more usable power. Hard to give up that Hellcat whine, though.
@@defyyourlogic487 I mean it's all subjective. I enjoyed the Scat in a different way than you enjoy your 240i. I don't race, it was more about the experience. I've driven other performance cars, but the V8 sound and big body of the Charger checked the boxes for me.

The loud turn signals to me is a good thing. How many people forget their turn signals on? I see it all the time. Never on Challenger owners though. lol.
So sad that they are ending this vehicle. I wish I had enough money to purchase one, more as an investment than anything because they will go up in value.

To answer your question does the Black Ghost belong in the last call lineup? ABSOLUTELY!!! This car was a Detroit street racing legend and as far as I know, undefeated and the original car still runs well and all original.
This would be the one I would buy if I could afford one! Meanwhile, I love my 2022 R/T Blacktop for a daily driver.
I'd get the Dodge Challenger Hellcat Red-Eye Widebody Jailbreak in either Toxic Orange Pearl w/Black trim/accents or Sublime Green w/Black trim
I don’t see how you can compare this to a gt500. Hellcats are pretty much meant to do one thing: go fast in a straight line. The gt500 is BOTH fast in a straight line and can hold its own in the corners.
They compete in the same two-door muscle car segment. There's always differentiation in a segment, otherwise everyone would sell the same car, just in a different color.

Where there's a will there's a way! I was driving my stock 1995 Geo Metro the other day and I ran up against one of these Black Ghost Challengers and he took off fast and so did I. I actually beat him 3 straight times. Give the credit to God if you must, but that Geo proved that it's not afraid to take on the so-called fast cars. I am proud of my car and of myself for not giving up.

I don't like how they are ending a great car. They are difficult to find and the dealers are continuing to bend people over with inflated mark ups. I bought a 2021 challenger scat pack. Had to buy a 21 because they quit taking orders for the 22 and it was months later before I guess you could order a 23. Never have figured out how to order or find a 23. The 21 I found I really like but the dealer charged me $500. More than the original window sticker.

Its a cool story but its not true. Biggest scam in automotive history.
You have to learn how to launch these cars. They are not easy and it takes a lot of practice. Launch control is not the way to extract the best times. I can consistently do 0-60 in 3.6-3.7 in my 21 Hellcat and 3.3-3.4 in my 21 Redeye on stock tires and on unprepped, but clean surfaces and all documented. This has taken time to master, but it can be done, especially after owning 4 of these cars. So 4.5 to 60 is probably correct for someone who has no idea how or the experience, to properly launch the challenger.

Two things you did that I've never done with my Redeye, drive in ECO and turn TC off, don't care about mileage because I'm in love with the Whine, and with TC on, the car still breaks loose at 70 mph punches.
