“I screamed at my skin please stay younger, where did the years go when I was feeling stronger” Hearing those lyrics for the first time will forever be my favourite part of any song
"I''ve been thinking what you said is true, our lives are reds and greens and shades of blue, our colored pasts reveal what is true, nothing that I said to you paints a pretty portrait of us two, we're different shades of blue." This part ^^^ speaks to me...
I screamed at my skin, "please stay younger" Where did the years go when I was feeling stronger? Right out the window when I was driving your car In the rear view I saw my heart It spun and landed in the front yard Of a place I knew before I knew it, distance crossed my mind Divides my spirits, half for faith and half for better times So how long is four years? it's an eternity I suppose Infinity beckons me to a simple place to hide Lay down And cover your eyes so bright from awful morning light I'm so scared of death, not fond of life And facing my fears doesn't feel right So, I'll carry on tonight Lay down And draw the blinds, the past is always on my mind So call me at midnight Or call me anytime I'm patiently waiting The past is on my mind I memorized the nuances Of conversation held that night I memorized every detail of your skin We were spread so thin Could've seen you in the basement Could've seen you in the hall But it doesn't even matter Cuz it was nothing at all Could've seen you in the basement Could've seen you in the hall But it doesn't even matter Cuz it was nothing at all I've been thinking what you said is true Our lives are reds and greens and shades of blue Our colored pasts reveal what is true Nothing that i said to you paints a pretty portrait of us two We're different shades of blue
Seems like they're reminiscing over a past lover / friend. Someone who has become distant, but who they still feel a connection with. Hence, "Call me at midnight, call me any time. I'm patiently waiting, the past is on my mind..." Then at the end of the song, he seems to make the conclusion that they simply don't fit, and that he needs to accept that in order to move on.
@@h0g_27 what genre is it? The singer ruins the band because he's not on pitch. It sounds like he's singing too high for his register. And his singing does overpower everything else. My point is, it kind of doesn't matter what genre is because the the second vocals are just bad.
@@howardmcmillian5764 well that's what I mean. The vocals aren't good by most people's standards. But in emo, it doesn't matter. The genre is about expressing your thoughts and feelings through music, no matter how your voice sounds. To me, he sounds raw, honest, and vulnerable. Expressing his emotions and feelings through the song.

Right out the window when I was driving your car
In the rear view I saw my heart
It spun and landed in the front yard

I knew it, distance crossed my mind
Divides my spirits, half for faith and half for better times

Anybody know what guitar Howard is using?
What tuning is this song?!
It's in FACGCE but the original song is pitched up a bit because they put a capo on the 2nd fret
This is the dankest
What does this song mean? Can anybody tell me?

am very sad i got the news we back 2017 this band is not making music anymore.its unfair band like these is totaly vanised our generation
how the fuck do they sound better than the recording
Well, i kinda miss you, but i guess thats okay.
he rolls his eyes so much lol
Shit I thought this was Modern Baseball at first.
I am so scared of death, not fond of life.
Dang this blows. So bad.
the second with the blue jacket ruins the band
howard mcmillian how so?
Marietta wouldn't be Marietta without him. This is a very niche genre of music, and if you don't like it, you won't like his type of vocals.
