Awesome shooting backstop. You have metal target that will be perfect to shoot at. Cannot wait to see the savage in action on the range. 👍🏼👍🏼, thanks for sharing
One of the best things I found was a hand seeder that’s stiff plastic instead of cloth. It holds about a gallon, maybe gallon and a half. I don’t have to worry about it spilling and it’s so much easier, for me, to spread seed by hand.
Roger that! I used if first time yesterday, worked like a charm... except I would have been a great video but the audio didn't work!!!! uugggghhh, the things us UA-camrs have to deal with!!!! lol
Looking Good. It ain't easy grading those #3 level. The turkey will love those Oats and Wheat seed. lol. I sowed twice as much seed as called for just to get a stand so they wouldn't eat all my seed. I used Rye grass seed for quick coverage. The turkeys don't seem to eat as much of it.
Do you think you will need something like a straw mat for the slope on the back stop to keep it from eroding before the grass gets established? I know you have problems with highly erodible soil there.
yeah, depends on how lucky/unlucky I get with mother nature. Probably will settle some, but I can always run a couple loads out there with the dump truck when it dries up some..
Kapper liked the circle design looked liked eyes and nose super long tongue 🐍. Was that to see if were paying attention or just turn out that way? 😄. Don't understand why U-tube keeps changing video settings to occasionally and after last update I can't read replies to comments unless I log out and log back into account and then it starts again.
It would be fun to see how by old 30-30 would do at the distance... I ain't ever had a scope on it, but at that distance I nay need one. My eyes are a few years older than they were last time I shot it about 18 years ago when I quit hunting. All because a 15 year old kid tried to kill me. I almost beat the hell out of his daddy, thank God the preacher was there to stop me...
Why would you put a "Loud" gun range on an area you want to use/lease for hunting ?? First two or three shots and there isn't going to be a deer in 30 miles !. To sight in rifles we used to send people about 20 miles to the public range.
Not so... Deer are quite accustomed to shooting around here.. Not to mention they don't really know just what it is, so if it isn't right next to them, it has little effect. A few people said the same thing last summer when I shot pistol out back. That very evening the deer were back out on the pond dam (right near where I was shooting) eating the grass as usual. I don't particularly 'like' doing it, but I have more that I want to accomplish and don't get around as good as I'd like so that Is why I build it all right in my back yard. thanks.
Grant, by the time I walk back to the house after shooting, deer are in the field browsing next to my gun range. Deer get accustomed to shooting just like they do to the sound of my diesel tractor. A lot of non-hunters and city boys are not aware of this.
Great design and finish product Kapper
thanks man, appreciate it!
Mr.Kapper that is a awesome job you did! Thumbs up 👍

thank you! Looking forward to it!
Beautiful job Joe, you will enjoy that area for many years. 2 thumbs up from here brother !!
Thanks bud, appreciate it!
Awesome work Professor Kapper!
Thanks man!. Slowly getting better.... Sometimes I'm a slow learner!! I think I've over 300 hours now between the rentals and this one!!!
Nice looking project! Very well thought out, as usual. Super smart to go with the 4 in 1 bucket on your Kioti.
thanks bud. That bucket is now a 'must have' on any tractor IMO...

yeah, I agree, I've had quite a few of those, but they break much easier for some reason... I always grab one when I see them in the stores though :)
Good job man like it .
thanks Leo. Getting a little better than last year eh?? :) My 'practice' is staring to pay off!
Nice job! I bet you can't wait to use it.

LOL, those who have watched them eat all of their fresh seed know better! :)

How did it work out with the water draining ?
Worked out well, I think I may have had to tweak it a little for more pitch, but now it drains nicely. Thanks. Hope to see you on some future vids.
2 years later, how did it hold up in rain? How deep did you go with your gravel?
Still works fine no doubt. I think I only laid about 3 inches of gravel. thanks.
@@kapperoutdoors how deep was it to begin with?
That came out really nice, how wide is that bucket?
6 feet, thank you.

thanks man, yeah, lots of issues with comments and such with YT
I'm late to this party, I know. Couldn't help but to think the dandelions will handle most of the coverage.
Wait, you're using wheat seeds?
Very nice range 👍
How is it holding up against Mother Nature?
Still doing well, weeds took hold of the backstop so it is stable. Just needs to be bush hogged a bit and I can use it any time! Thanks.

looking good, the new will wear off of this project quickly. at 600 yards plus your just lobbing bullets in to the target,
I have other plans as well.. Shooting new challenges like smaller objects....?
That turned out nice joe
Thanks Mike!
I checked my phone battery when your video said, "low battery warning." Even though that isn't my low battery alert.
