Such a cute scene from "Les Girls". One of my favourite Gene Kelly movies. Quite underated. It was such fun watching the lovely girls all so talented. Kay Kendall passed so young and in her prime. Terribly sad. Gene Kelly my all time favourite still looking delicious even 44or 45 years old. He always looked at least 10 years younger! Gorgeous man. Love and miss you Gene. 🌹🌹🌹
So many lovely comments about the late Kay Kendall and all too correct . If only she had lived i believe she would have been one of the movie greats she had it all , the comic talent , the beauty and those gorgeous legs .............if only .
I Absolutely Adore KAY KENDALL. She was the best. I've often thought about how many films & great roles she would have done, had her Fate been different . She was destined to be a Superstar. Obviously, her destiny would be otherwise. Instead it would be the world's Great loss. Dying of leukemia Sept.6, 1959, at the age of 33. I found her beauty & talent amazing. She was equal to Carole Lombard as one of the funniest women on the screen. Rex Harrison has a somewhat nasty reputation I've read , but as her husband, he proved his strength when it came to the Lovely KAY. Perhaps thru Online exposure & especially UTUBE, more people can discover this Brilliantly Talented Actress.
Beautiful, and hilariously funny.... a combination that only rarely appears. And that extraordinary profile! How great it would have been to see her in scads MORE musicals, for which she OBVIOUSLY has great affinity. Her drunk scene in Les Girls, where she's singing the Habenera from Carmen is just about my favorite thing in the entire film. What a loss.
You're Just Too Too? So Young Kay Kendall. In another roll Kay Kendall and a trumpet. London to Brighton in an old jalopy. Cue Tommy Reilly or was it Larry Adler? Harmonica.
I love Kay Kendall in “Genevieve” but not “Les Girls” ; banal script,over-acting and terrible songs, apart from the Taina Elg number which sounds like Marni Nixon’s voice,anyway.M.G.M. lost it’s grip after “Hit The Deck” but “Gigi” did help restore the magic.
Gene Kelly choreographed the "So Gone About The Gal" number for himself and Mitzi Gaynor. It's the highlight of the movie and why it's remembered today
Sorry I disagree! "Les Girls" is quite delightful. The Girls were so different and lovely. Gene of course always so very good in everyway. What a smile!!
@@susanlloyd7395 For me this 'Just Too Too' number is the highlight. Of course 'So Gone' is wonderful, but this is two of the most delightful minutes in a musical film.

Her final film, 'Once More, With Feeling', in which she co-starred with Yul Brynner, was released posthumously, in 1960.
Outstanding rendering historical Hollywood experience ever ! Merci beaucoup from Paris France. Always Do Wear yur facemask in every situation !
From what I've read, Kay Kendall was never told what her illness was. That decision was made by Rex Harrison.
They're delightful together.
Too cute I love the classic films.
second most beautiful woman in all creation. kay K
Love her ...
Beautiful!
Wow, never saw this, and I thought I’ve seen everything Kelly 🎵

Genevieve. With Larry Adler on harmonica. One of my top five favorite movies.
M/S Kendall was dubbed by Betty Wand, and M/S Elg by Thora Mathiason.
Charming
I adore Gene Kelly.
HIs wig is so obvious at 1:29-1:35.
@@dannybex So what?
@@dannybex Kay married a truly bald man-Rex Harrison
@@susanlloyd7395 What that has to do with anything is beyond me.
@@susanlloyd7395 Just making a point.
Absolutely believable as lovers
