I have been waiting to see the 2020 RT. Your excitement is contagious. You made the move from 2 wheels and not riding to 3 wheels and riding again for us seamless. Our 17 F3 Ltd is a trustworthy friend. Looking forward to Spyder demo days!
Thanks again for the 2020 RTL tips. I must spend an hour a day (on and off) thinking about mine, and I don't even have it yet. I'm sending a memo to the dealer to make sure they don't cut the zip ties. I guess we 'early adopters' will just have to live with it until BRP catches up. And we both know that "When you walk away from your bike and don't turn around and look at it, you bought the wrong bike" (not my quote). I have watched many many 2020 RT videos, but every time I watch you, I learn something new, and important. Thanks so much. Ride safe and I'll see you this summer when I bring my two RTL's in for an alignment. -JackinSpokane.
I love when a bike leaves you thinking about it, even when it’s not in front of you. This RT definitely has me thinking of her a lot..! I doubt one could walk away from one of these with a few look backs. Lol Thanks Jack!!
Really appreciate the in-depth rundown on the new Spyder. There are already a couple of local questions about the saddlebag fit for one thing. Just reinforces my reluctance to buy a first model year of anything. I want one ALOT, but my '18 RTL is treating my quite nice and I've got her set up about how I like her. Got a trip to Florida from Las Vegas in my spring plans so I don't want to offend her. Ha..! Hope your weather improves so you can get Kelly out on the road, but that might take a little warmer weather, eh? Be safe, you two...
Thank you for the great video. I would have been raising heck with the dealer when i noticed tie wraps on the vehicle. once again a very informative video.
Trying to absorb all of your Spyder tips for future use. Lol!! I know the rain sucks. Off and on all day here. But remember our motto. ALL GOOD THINGS MUST COME TO AN END Stay safe and dry!!!
Wow there are some awesome improvements...brp did it again👍 Very, very cool bike😎 Love that new look, thanks so much for showing a few more details and tips...love it👌😁Thanks for your time.
I always find the engineering of stuff interesting. Neat stuff. I hope you get some good riding weather today. Full moon is tonight, BTW. Peace and love.
It's good to see Shawn BRP are continually improving their products & investing alot of money to ensure their future ... As I always say Can-Am Rocks!! 👍😁🤘 Beanie
@@Frankietomatoes6189 Yeh I bet you're hanging out Bigtime mate ... In Australia you can Ryde all year round but the Heat's are killer!! Ryde safe brother 👍😁🤘 Beanie

Bummer I thought you might show a tip on how to get the passenger seat off. Just got my 2020RTL and that pass seat don't wanna come off. push down on tabs and pull forward on seat don't seem to work.
Are the rubber boots for the passenger hand holds side specific? Maybe they were installed on the wrong side, if you swap them it might cover up the gap, just a thought.
@@TheSmoaksVlogs Have they come out with the new rubber boots yet. My wifes new RTL the four bolts holding the handle bars on have rust tarnish on them. Ever hear anything about this?
Many, many months ago (around early March) for the very limited first run units that were produced with the effected panels. We only had 4 units, one being my demo shown here, and we ordered a ton of RT's..! Thanks John!!
How much drain on the battery is there if you have the ignition on and kill switch activated. If you pull into a rest area or park somewhere and wish to listen to the radio or play some music for a while, have you got say half and hour or an hour play time before you run the battery down too far, assuming you switch off headlights etc.Or is it not recommended to have ignition on for extended times.
It will have considerable drain on the battery..! 2010~2017 RT’s could be put in (audio only) Accessory Mode by pushing and holding the Mode button while turning off the ignition. I’m researching how, and if, this can be done for 2018~2020 models... Thanks Brett!!
Update 3/2/20: The accessory mode was removed as of 2018 due to the higher powered amp drawing too much power from the system when the engine is not running... Sorry Brett!
@@TheSmoaksVlogs Thanks for the fast return I was looking for a PDF downloaded version. I have a 80" led screen in my shop and it serves as my TV /computer monitor and its perfect for viewing the service manual for my old week eyes. Also do you know when BRP is going to ship the RED ones? I had ordered 1 in November and now my dealer can't get BRP to give them a delivery date.
Shawn, just curious if BRP has sent the new parts yet to address the fitment issues you discuss in this video? I am holding off purchasing a new RT until this is resolve satisfactorily. Any updates or insights would be appreciated.
Dang, as much as we like out 2015 RT-S Special Series, I think we're gonna have to give the 2020 a good hard look. Hopefully the trade-in / resale value will do us good!
Is there a rear panel for the F3 Limited as well if you want to remove the top case? Also, my "unlock lever" in the case is loose as in not attached at all, should it be attached like in the video? Mine is plastic.
Yes, you can order a color matching rear panel for your F3L, but unlike the RTL's you'll need to install an antenna relocation kit if you want to use your AM/FM radio, as your antenna is attached to the trunk. If you don't use the radio, you can leave it disconnected while using the panel. The lever should not be loose. My son was helping me get a loose taillight coupler re-attached on a new 2021 F3L yesterday, and we had an issue getting the the rear trunk latch to correctly connect and tighten. Because we simply held the trunk assy pivoted forward while working on the taillight, we found that it had moved too far forward on the front attachment for the lock to drop into it's locking slot. Sliding the trunk assy back just a bit allowed it to fall in and lock down tightly. Hope that helps..! Thanks Debbye!!
Not to change the subject, but I just re-watched the Avengers and noticed for the first time that captain America was riding a softail slim at the end of the movie.😎✌🏻 bummer about the rain, hopefully Sunday will be dryer.
Most likely not. All applicable bulletins for your Spyder will be promptly mailed to the registered owner by BRP. All bulletins are VIN specific and not controlled by the dealer. The dealer can only see an applicable bulletin when running a VIN Inquiry on your bike when in for service or repair... However, you can call or visit your dealer and have them run a VIQ on your bike at any time. Thanks Nancy!!
I’ve been watching your Can Am vids for months now Shawn and lovin every one of them. The only problem out here in Hawaii is getting one here as there aren’t any Can Am dealerships at all which is driving me nutsso !! Would Pro Caliber do a shipping out to here ?
Good afternoon SHAWN, I own a 2011 Spider R/T Limited with a tear in the seat, is the seat from a 2014 R/T a direct fit from bike to bike? I found one on ebay but before I buy it I would like to know. THANK YOU
I have a subjective question unrelated to your video. I just finished my msf course today on the 900 ryker, unfortunately there was only one spyder f3 and I was unable to ride it. What are the differences; ie brakes, throttle control, acceleration. I'm not asking about comfort features more mechanical things. I know the ryker is smaller, is handling drastically different? My biggest concern is lack of storage on the ryker. Any input would be appreciated.
The Spyder F3 pretty much does everything the same as the Ryker. The Spyder will feel substantially more refined and stable, with much more powerful brakes, but not quite the quick acceleration. Where the Ryker makes you laugh in your helmet with crazy fun, the Spyder is more serious and comfortable. The F3 & F3-S is only going to add the smallest amount of additional storage. If storage is important, look at the F3-T & F3-LTD models, or better yet, an RT model..! Thanks Tommie!!

Yes, they are side specific, but that’s not the issue. There was a change and the boots didn’t get adjusted for that change...
