Melvin Taylor played a private party as my 50th birthday present from my brothers. He's a heck of a nice guy as well as guitar monster. I've been a fan of his ever since he cut his first album with Lucky Peterson. It turns out Melvin & I grew up listening to a lot of the same music. All those influences and yet Melvin has such an individual sound. He has an original approach to the music that we both love. Maybe that partially explains why I enjoy his playing so much.
