    There are many people who bash shugden practice and the thing that gets me is these people claim they have compassion yet they treat shugden practitioners as heretics that doesn’t seem compassionate to me
    For anyone who is here to bash on shugden practitioners let them practice their practice they aren’t practicing with malice they are practicing with positive and right intention
    Thank you all and stay blessed

    Although this is a very short video on how we can start our practices with regards to DS prayers, but the information that is being shared in the video is very detailed. Not only does Pastor Shin explain about the components and also teaching us the different prayers that is covered in the video, she has also explained the logic behind each part.
    Covering the mudras, and even what we should be visualizing when doing the different parts of the prayer. Explaining each part in great depth and knowledge.

    Beautiful teachings! My practice is slightly different, but is essentially the same. Maybe it's just nothing more than semantics, but I prefer the word "rely on" rather than "propitiate" Dorje Shugden. Other than that, I rejoice in your (our, right?) beautiful practice! Thank you for sharing this precious practice!!! Thank you!

      BabylonMister Hi there... I am just a beginner in this practice. Whatever that you are practicing, I wish you a great enjoyment and that you may gain greater clarity in your spiritual path. By the way, what makes you think that the word "relying on" DS is more appropriate than "propitiation"? Perhaps the word propitiation might denotes some kind of negative circumstances if we do not "appeasing" the Deity well?

      Hi, Jacinta! Sorry I'm responding so late...I don't go on FB that often. Thank you for your kind words. Well, I think it's a tiny technical difference not really worth mentioning, and probably it's just semantics. But, as a linguist, I note that "Propitiate" means to "win or regain the favor of (a god, spirit, or person) by doing something that pleases them." (Webster's Dictionary). I regard Dorje Shugden as a stern, protective father who goes out of his way to make everything perfect for me, so in essence, I rely on him like I would rely on my father when I needed help. I never felt the need to win or regain my father's favor. But then again, I guess it's like Mother's Day or Father's Day here in USA. We give our mothers a card and some flowers, and that delights them, but they really don't need it. They just appreciate our loving gesture, and we in turn, enjoy their happiness, so we keep up the tradition. To propitiate just sounds a little "cold" or "distant." Maybe it's just me... lol. I've only been practicing for 16 years in this life, so I'm a newbie, too! Sorry for long post! - where are you from? (if you don't mind me asking)

      BabylonMister 16 years... OMB! I am just a newly hatched chick though. I started to follow Rinpoche teachings back in 2014 only and am trying to grasp basic Buddhism practice. I am Penangite. Living in the north of Malaysia, roughly 4 to 5 hours away from Kechara Forest Retreat. Let's not talk about it. Oh ya, rather amazed on how you differentiated the two words. Relying sounds more practical to me and propitiating might be a proper word to use for such a holy yet wrathful Deity. We do need to connect with Him everyday like doing our daily sadhana. After all, purification and merit generation is part of our practice right?

    Should I get an abhiseka from Lama to practicing dorje shugden?

    • @tsemrinpoche
      @tsemrinpoche  6 років тому +1

      Hi Tau Lah,
      You do not need abhiseka (initiation) from a lama to practise Dorje Shugden. You can start on the practice of Dorje Shugden here with this short prayer: www.tsemrinpoche.com/tsem-tulku-rinpoche/buddhas-dharma/a-short-prayer-to-dorje-shugden.html
      Thank you,
