As she mentioned US Citizens (Non-Filipinos) can travel to the Philippines Visa-free for 30 days. Once there in the Philippines, you can go to Bureau of Immigration (some branch offices are located at major malls like in Cebu or Manila) and apply for another 30 or 60 day extension for around $30-$80 USD only. After you apply and pay necessary fees, I believe you would have to come back same day or next day depending on if there is enough time in the day you applied to see if they approved the application extension then they will stamp your passport. You can do this process repeatedly. some are able to extend up to 6 months or 3 years. Applying at the shopping mall makes it more convenient than going to the Main Office in Manila which is cumbersome and confusing process.

@@brucehatton9013 So upon arrival you will only be given 30 days visa free stay. You do not need to change your return flight. Instead you can “rent” an onward ticket that leaves within 30 days (costs about $15). You need this as it is a requirement to have an onward/return ticket that leaves before your initial visa expires. Airline or immigration personnel might ask to see this. Once in PH, you can apply for a visa extension (before 30 days expire) at any immigration office.

Anyone reading this I would appreciate the answer if you know. I don't understand the return ticket. I am planning on doing 2 month extensions for up to 6 months. How can I set a return date for 30 days? Will the airport let you contact them later with a new return date or are we saying the return ticket date of 30 days or less is still needed and if you stay longer you just lost your money on the return ticket?
Nice video. For retirees who want to stay longer than 30 days, you Visa can be extended at the Bureau of Immigration. Another way is to apply for a One Year Multi Entry Visa at the Philippines Embassy in Washington DC. You can stay 58 days at a time.
Hi Jocelyn, for a unvaccinated American adult traveling to the Philippines, can the mouth saliva test be used instead of the nose test? I expect to travel to Taiwan (first layover) and then to Manila and then to Zamboanga. Do I need to get repeated tests at each of the airports? Or which ones? On the return trip would I just get the test at the Zamboanga airport and then be free to return to America with no other mouth test? Thank you for answering my questions!
Hello, I would also like to know the answer to this question. What are the rules if I decide to enter another country on my layover in route to the Philippines?
Don’t know about nose test. However regarding some of your questions: - if unvaccinated, you need a negative antigen test within 24 hours prior to your departure from your country of origin - as long as you stay at the airport during layovers, you do not need another test - if you leave your transit airport and enter that country, this country now becomes your country of origin and your negative test must be within 24 hours prior to leaving this “new” country - As you are a US citizen, you do not need any test coming back to US.

I plan to stay in the Philippines for 40 days but I am a Filipino and a US citizen. Do I still need to get a visa?
No
No need to get a visa. As she said, you have 1 year to stay as an American citizen but a forner Filipino citizen.
Hi po. So I have a US and PH passport. I am a dual citizen but only my US passport is valid, my PH passport is currently expired. Does that mean I have 1 year visa-free stay? Since I have an old Philippine Passport?

My citizenship is the United States

So upon arrival you will only be given 30 days visa free stay.
Thanks how and where do I rent a ticket?
@@lilys5095 renting an onward ticket for $15 sounds perfect. I am US citizen. I want to go to the Philippines and stay much longer than 30 days. Under the new rules, how many extensions can I get and for how long? If you have a link to the renting of the onward ticket that would be very helpful. Thank you

Similar to the Philippines if you are not born or neutral citizen, po. Valid Passport, immigration card, and vaccination card. Some countries do require testing.

That is ok.
as a dual, thanx for the vid. good to know bc i'm moving to PI.
I just booked my wife a flight for this coming April. She is dual citizen but only has a valid US passport. She is fully vaccinated. From your video I take it that she's good to go. Correct? I don't want another episode of what happened 18 months ago when she tried to go home due to her mother passing away and was turned away after one leg of the trip. That cost me $1800 that I couldn't get back.
She should be fine. Have her bring her dual citizenship papers.

Kids are not required to be vaccinated. Kids below 15 y/o follow the protocol applicable to their accompanying parent or guardian.
@@lilys5095 Thank for the information Ms Lily. We are planning to go to the Philippines by June. Hopefully things will go smoothly in our travel, especially dealing with the BI in the Philippines. 🙏
Question: in older videos, the unvaccinated could either do a 48-hour or 24-hour test. Is the 48-hour still valid? All I heard in this video is 24-hour? Please verify and confirm. Thank you
It's 24 hrs now
Huh? Have to provide negative test to depart but can be tested on arrival? The conflicting information is mind boggling. I'm going to Philippines in May.
Do you need travel insurance?
Are there official Ph websites that can provide info like this? Trying to make a printout in case Ph reps gives me a hard time. It seems to be rampant these days- IAC with the news anyway.

Can you stay more than 30 days in the Philippines even if you traveled multiple times within a year.
I took the 2 Pfizer and a booster does tht count as fully vaccinated or no?

Nice video. For retirees who want to stay longer than 30 days, you Visa can be extended at the Bureau of Immigration. Another way is to apply for a One Year Multi Entry Visa at the Philippines Embassy in Washington DC. You can stay 58 days at a time.
Another way is to just stay.
However regarding some of your questions:
- if unvaccinated, you need a negative antigen test within 24 hours prior to your departure from your country of origin
- as long as you stay at the airport during layovers, you do not need another test
- if you leave your transit airport and enter that country, this country now becomes your country of origin and your negative test must be within 24 hours prior to leaving this “new” country
- As you are a US citizen, you do not need any test coming back to US.
