I wonder how many people in this crowd realize how lucky they are to have seen Itzhak play in person. World class violinist and musician right there. I recommend checking out his performance of Tchaikovsky’s violin concerto in D, my personal favorite classical piece and the best (imo) performance of it to have been recorded. Really displays his talent.
My favorite Israeli violinist. It was a special privilege to hear Itzhak Perlman perform twice at the Schermerhorn Symphony Center. The Grand Re-Opening Hatch Show Print from Perlman's stirring & legendary 2011 performance with the Grammy Award winning Nashville Symphony Orchestra, around six months after the devastating flood, remains proudly displayed upon the wall above my desk.
Also, Itzhak Perlman's stirring performance of our National Anthem has inspired me to compose a symphonic tribute to the miracle at bats throughout the history of Major League Baseball...
Para chegar a este nível de profissionalismo, é necessário iniciar bem criança, e dedicar-se com a certeza de que um dia irá tornar-se um/a virtuose.. Parabéns e obrigada. Lindo o hino francês. Adorei tudo.
There’s a man who can do anything with that piece of music but decided to keep it simple… simple is best. Singers take “Note” lol that was pretty fantastic
I absolutely love Perlman, his playing and his personality are equally wonderful. But, even as an intermediate violinist I can easily tell the playing is a little off. I have nothing against Perlman, with age and in front of a loud crowd instead of a silent audience performing isn't the same. However, it is undeniably a little depressing and sadening hearing Perlman's violin no longer sing like it used to.
Chris Hayes Hi, I really feel sad too. But I think it is because not only by aging but also of nervousness... I couldn’t imagine how people got stressed to play anthem in such huge number of people.... his left hand was absolutely tremored.... anyway, he is still a legend for me.
It was probably really cold, thus the lack of control, and as far as the sound - remember you’re used to hearing him in beautiful halls. Here he is close mic’d outdoors with zero reverb. A virtuoso with a Stradivarius only goes so far, for that beautiful tail to the sound you’ve gotta be in the right space
Hey Adam.... Why don't you practice your entire life, win 16 Grammy Awards and then see what YOU think when some shithead tells you you're getting old. You're probably a fucking Marlins fan. What an asshole comment. If they gave out awards for asshole troll comments, you would win it. The prize is a well deserved kick in the balls. Hey Adam... from a life long Mets fan.... Fuck You Adam.
@@mannye any musician can honestly say that yeah perlman is aging and his technique has slightly deteriorated because of it and that's just how it is for everyone. dont gotta shit bricks over truth. perlman's always been one of my idols and inspirations but he won't ever play as good as he did when he was at his prime. just because he's aged doesn't mean he lost any respect.
@@Miguel-ks2mc You know as well as I do that that kind of "truth" is well and good in a room full of musicians, but on a public forum like this where the vast majority of people watching are possibly hearing this man for the first time can and does come across as petty and spiteful. Despite his age and whatever natural deterioration he has suffered, as we all do, he is still amazing. So, yes... I will "shit bricks" all over that crass statement. Not yours. Wow Amazing performance!! But it could be better if his performance was accompanied by a Cello because the Cello is more powerful enough to play the bass line in the national anthem.
LOL. I'm not saying Heifetz is better because the "music critics" say so. I'm not saying Heifetz is better because he's more famous. In fact, Perlman is probably more famous today. Tsampika Biniari is it and do much for him he didn't like it that much, and he didn't think it was very good. And that he needs to play better than Itzhak Perlman to be allowed to think that it's not good?
shit got real when he pulled out the double stops.

He seemed a bit nervous in this performance but still managed to blow the crowd away. Incredible!
not nervous, this man comfortably performed most of the hardest pieces to play. He is old now so possibly less control and a bit of wobbling
Prob just cold
Yes he confessed once that he gets nervous on stage
So much respect for Sir Itzhak Perlman. Awesome performance.
Respect. I have never heard the Star-Spangled Banner being played on a violin. it's beautiful.
Markus Ohayon you tube Anne Akiko Meyers.
Markus Ohayon I have, I play it at my school for games and stuff..... but itzhak slayed it! He sounded incredible

EXCELLENT.
Reminds of the movie the Alamo when David Crockett was playing the violin!! Awesome!!!
But what happened to the cadenza? Better yet, couldn't Perlman have played Paganini's famous "Variations on the Star Spangled Banner"?

I would have loved him to play a small klezmer accent on one of those notes :s
With a hoedown, "Shave and a Haircut" ending.
sound like he is awsome on the Vilion
Stunning performance. Wish he'd played it a little slower so we could savor his playing....
i dont, he played the time right, thats the proper way. timing timing timing. hes a legend
refreshingly up tempo

What booing? There was an airplane that flew overhead, maybe that's what you heard? lol

Citi Field is right by the airport, it's common to have airplanes randomly flying by during a game. Nothing to do with the national anthem.

He added a classical music touch to it (for example, the double stops) I’m pretty sure you don’t like classical music. Do you?
How dare YOU
U.S. should changed its anthem. Star-Spangled Banner has no musical value... it does not even have a nice melody and is very boring.
