That 1st Anderson fight is in my top 3 heart breaking loss category. Chael put on a clinic the entire fight. It was almost as if Anderson was letting him beat the piss out of him to give a false sense of security and snapped on that 🔺 like it was nothing as to say "I could've done this at any moment during the Fight." To me, that first fight w/ Anderson was on pace to be the biggest upset in combat sports since Tyson vs Buster Douglas. Joe Rogan had us damn near believing Anderson Silva could walk on water! No one was even competing w/ Anderson at the time and Chael Sonnen comes along and states he was going to win (said some outlandish things!) and that was that. The promotion to that fight was insane! I'm not even exaggerating when I state it was similar (and would have carried the same magnitude) of Joe Namath predicting his Super Bowl win over the Colts. Chael threw down w/ the best and pushed him tot he brink! He literally won 22/25 minutes of that fight.
