Claude Debussy composed “Danse sacrée” in 1904. He was commissioned by a harp-making company to write a work for the new chromatic harp. Debussy’s “Danses sacrée et profane” (a two-movement piece) is one of the most anticipated of all of Debussy’s compositions.
