Knocking the ridges down is the hardest part for me.

Thoughts on using wedges / gap spreaders with mosaics to maintain the right spacing sheet to sheet?

Hi. Yes yes yes. Especially the marble. Use anything you can. But, how far do you go ?
I will also use a Dremel tool with the diamond wheel after curing, to straighten lines (cheating 😀)
      Preparation is #1

Can you talk about how long one needs to wait until the plaster is installed and the pool is filled up... can the pool be filled just a few days later?

Thanks David for the good question, my understanding is that Normally 21-28 days after the last tile in installed you can fill, but seek advice from adhesive manufacturer. Plaster is normally filled 24hour after installed, making sure 21 days has gone buy to allow for curing of glass adhesive/grout/waterproofing. Tenting is strongly recommended for all stages.
