@@brocockboy good to know. Problem is, that not all americans seem to realize, that not all footage of these starlings is taken in america, which can get really annoying. This video here for example is, judging on the other bird sounds in the backround, is from europe. It just bugs the shit out of me, how all the american people quickly become loud about killing them. I get it, they are a real problem over there where you live, but here where i live, they get fewer and fewer every year. It's just frustrating, how many people seem to be unable to look outside their own beckyard. Hope you understand my reasoning here..

Nesting Time to Starlings means killing off as many of our native birds as possible. Have shot and killed hundreds of these Starlings, and we now have a population of over 2 million in the US. Non Native and highly invasive. Daniel

starling population is declining like most other birds in north america. some birds have also started adapting to starling behavior. if you want to be helpful to the ecosystem without killing them and thinking that it's helping (unless you are just intending to clear your very local area temporarily), try putting out nesting boxes for your local bluebirds, woodpeckers and martins.
"Despite their success and large numbers, the European Starling is now in steep decline, like so many other species in North America. The current population is half the size it was 50 years ago -- down from an estimated 166.2 million breeding birds in 1970 to 85.1 million (Rosenberg et. al. Science 2019) . The species is also declining in Europe." from Cornell University
"Shooting is not an effective way to manage starling populations overall. The number of birds that can be killed by shooting is small relative to the size of the flock. However, shooting may be helpful where only a few birds are present, and in supplementing or reinforcing other dispersal techniques." from Seattle Audubon
