Tutti e due hanno fatto una cover...non è la loro canzone..ma comunque sia Chris che Jeff li adoro e hanno interpretato magicamente come solo sanno fare.
I really like jeff's bluesy, contemplative version of this song. He sings it with a mixture of sweetness and determination. I also love this performance by Chris. He translates it into his own personality and manner of expression. That's the sign of a proper artist and mature person. That high D he belts out at 4.49 is incredible. Really, how can anybody doubt whether he has recovered his voice? He is an awesome singer as a middle-aged man just like he was an awesome singer as a young man.
Always remember this night, seeing a legend walk onto that small stage. So real but almost unbelievable. Glad I got to see him in person before it was too late. Lifes short, be nothing but happy...
I keep discovering these little gems of Chris that I haven't heard before ... He NEVER disappoints, and always surpasses anything I can imagine him doing ... He is definitely sent from a Greater Power than ever any of us could ever imagine right now. But we will all join him one day in the great beyond. Can hardly wait for heaven, Chris Cornell ... I know you are there.
So happy to find this! I was at this show. I drove from VA., and it was the day before Thanksgiving. It was the first time I had seen him acoustically and man did he deliver; coming out a half hour early because his opener was sick. I remember thinking, I would have been rolled out on stage in a hospital bed to not miss opening up for him if it were me and I wished it had been me! He was mesmerizing for the next three and a half hours!!! It's funny, my only knowledge of this song prior, was Lindsey Buckingham's version, which I always liked a lot. I guess he had been telling us all for a long time, the only way he knew how... still it is so very hard to take, but he finally recieved and answered the call ☎️
Such a beautiful tribute..such wonderful souls shining brightly now together in the night skies...how blessed to have met in this life beforehand and to find each other again now for all eternity~
There is one hell of a jam session up there for the amount of incredible musicians that left us. Alot of them way too early. The impact they have on us singing about things often we can relate to. Getting us through hard times. Helping us enjoy monumental moments. The power of the musician will always be stronger than w give them credit for. RIP Chris and friends.
He was so awesome. Chris could sing anything. God rest your beautiful soul Chris 🙏🏽🕊 The Beautiful Keeper ♥️🌹♥️ forever in our hearts ♥️ prayers always for your family 🙏🏽
Thank you for this. My jaw dropped at his guitar licks! Just love the man and am happy he lives on through his music, profound lyrics and phenominal vocals. Put his whole heart and soul into it all.
nibbanafamily hope you are well in these crazy times. Something I neglected to put in my comment two years ago upon coming across this gem is, Thank You for sharing it! Being at that show was an exhilarating experience, which became a cherished memory that thanks to you, we can revisit over eight years later. I don't know how many times he did this song live, but it was the only time I heard it and that's pretty dang special.🎼❤️
I see everyone here from Jeff, but does anyone remember Porter Wagoner's version. I'm pretty sure he was the first to ever record it sometime in the late 40s-early 50s.
rip, "Satisfied Mind" How Many Times, Have u Heard Someone Say, If I Had Money, I Would Do Things My Way. But Little They Know, That It's So Hard To Find One Rich Man In Ten, With A Satisfied Mind. Money Can't Buy Back, All Your Youth When Your Old A Friend When Your Lonely, Or Peace To Your Soul The Wealthiest Person, Is A Pauper At Times Compared To The Man, With a Satisfied Mind. When My Life Is Over, And My Time Has Run Out, My Friends and My Lovers, I Will Leave, There's No Doubt But One Things For Certain, When It Comes My Time I'll Leave This Old World With A Satisfied Mind But One Things For Certain, When It Comes My Time, Oh Yeah I'll Leave This Old World With A Satisfied Mind mind mind, mind mind, Satisfied Mind.
Not to take anything away from this version, I love Chris Cornell's works, but let's give credit to the correct original artist Porter Wagoner.....not Buckley or Cash.......
+jcfish0314 Who cares who wrote the original song? Jeff Buckley's fans know he didn't, the rest will google it and will find out but whatever, just take it as it is, a tribute to a great artist that's it. A lot of people play "The man who sold the world" as a tribute to Nirvana even if Bowie wrote it and again, what's the problem with it?
Here are the chords for Jeff's version : tabs.ultimate-guitar.com/tab/jeff-buckley/satisfied-mind-chords-61382 Chris' cover is in the same key so should be easy to figure out. Cheers.
Rusty_Cage what chord shapes is he playing here when he dips down to around the 9th or 10th fret? I know how to play the f shape a chord at the fifth fret with the Hendrix thumb style like Chris is doing here but I don’t know what else he’s doing, that’s all I know
Rusty_Cage Rusty_Cage Rusty_Cage 0:15 is the first chord, 0:21 is the second chord, 0:24 is the third, and then at about 0:37 he does like a rapid succession of 3 or 4 chords as he goes higher up on the neck of the guitar, 0:40 is the next chord as he turns around, 0:43, 0:53 is some crazy shit i don’t even know. If I can figure out those time stamps then that’s pretty much the song I think. It looks like he’s starting off on A and then he goes down to the G on the third fret later but I don’t know what he’s doing when he’s going up higher on the guitar. I know the shape of the opening A chord, he’s doing an F shape at the fifth fret and putting his thumb on the low E string, I thought that’s what he was doing around the 11th or 12th fret but it sounds like shit when I play it.
@@josephjanssens6404 Ok, i figured it out some time ago but i can't remember from the top of my head. I'll get back to you when i can sit down with my guitar after work.
Hold on...How can a tune covered once by Jeff Buckley be a Chris Cornell Jeff Buckley cover? Huh? That's insane. They both covered a Hayes and Rhodes song. If I play a Chris Smithers' song that Bonnie Raitt once played, I'm not doing a Raitt cover! I'm covering a Chris Smithers tune. Yikes!
Say hello to Jeff....thank you both for sharing your soul and music....💔💔
To #JeffBuckley & Chris Cornell 🤘🏼R I P *Legends* 🖤
Tutti e due hanno fatto una cover...non è la loro canzone..ma comunque sia Chris che Jeff li adoro e hanno interpretato magicamente come solo sanno fare.
It’s Porter Wagners song, and was also done by Marty Stuart and Johnny cash, along with the great Jeff B!

Well said. He really was in his second prime when Soundgarden reunited, the high D's near the end are truly incredible.

Cornell + Buckley. DAMN
A couple of dream brothers.
rcampbell1981 Because they’re waiting for you like I waited for mine but nobody ever came
Saw Chris last night. He played this beautifully and he transcends music.
🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲

😢😞💔💔
This hurts a lot. Miss you, dude
It makes me sad watching this and hearing Jeff's voice in my head overdubbed by Chris's voice..quite beautiful.
Still find it hard to except that I'll never see this man again or hear him live. Best voice of my generation.
😢 Such a loss... Beautiful man. Amazing talent. You will be missed!
Justice to this masterpiece.
God, do I miss this man.
Chris never fails to astonish me
Dream Brothers. This made me smile and cry today. Jeff is the G.O.A.T. and Chris was right up there with him. R.I.P.
GOD Bless Jeff and now Chris! What a beautiful rendition of Buckley's tribute! Later...
OH!!! I forgot to add...,"these are the two (2) BEST male vocalists in the past 20 years!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bar NONE!!!! Later...
@@KorieG Layne Staley shouldn’t be overlooked.
Jeff and Chris 💔
I am certain he'll be singing with Jeff now...rest in peace Chris
I love his delayed reaction to the guy who said "Big Dumb Sex." He's always so funny at these acoustic shows.
he said "play something sexy" lol
Such a beautiful tribute..such wonderful souls shining brightly now together in the night skies...how blessed to have met in this life beforehand and to find each other again now for all eternity~
Found Memories of playing this tune with the bro..Chris does this song a soulful and meaningful justice.
Fucken awesome, yet again he nailed it and then some, amazing.
Not many find or even heard these brilliant songs from the past especially country
Beautiful versions in a continuum from gospel legend Mahalia Jackson to Jeff Buckley to Chris Cornell. May they Rest In Peace.

Chris came into this world, and did what he had to do! And then he left! Chris's Spirit lives on in his music. ❤️🙏❤️🎶🌍✌️💯💫
Chris was so COOL and a Great Talent! We Miss Him! WooF!!
I’m so glad I found this. Two of my all time favorite musicians Chris and Jeff. ❤️❤️

Meu sonho assistir um show do Chris, mesmo de longe... 😓

"Satisfied Mind"
How Many Times, Have u Heard Someone Say,
If I Had Money, I Would Do Things My Way.
But Little They Know, That It's So Hard To Find
One Rich Man In Ten, With A Satisfied Mind.
Money Can't Buy Back, All Your Youth When Your Old
A Friend When Your Lonely, Or Peace To Your Soul
The Wealthiest Person, Is A Pauper At Times
Compared To The Man, With a Satisfied Mind.
When My Life Is Over, And My Time Has Run Out,
My Friends and My Lovers, I Will Leave, There's No Doubt
But One Things For Certain, When It Comes My Time
I'll Leave This Old World With A Satisfied Mind
But One Things For Certain, When It Comes My Time, Oh Yeah
I'll Leave This Old World With A Satisfied Mind mind mind, mind mind,
Satisfied Mind.
Thank you @Tammy Hauck for including lyrics! I’m sure everyone here knows sometimes Chris randomly has his own version of pronunciations lol
His personality satisfies

It still hurts all these years later. Same with Chris.

Loved Bob Dylans version on the Saved album.

This cover takes on a new poignancy now.
Cornell...satisfied or couldn't get no satisfaction??? Generation X Deaths are numerous musically...
Thank you for your time than you can thank me for mine and after that said forget it. Bag it man
:')
Nothing "HD" about this. Song is fair, but both sound and video are borderline crappy.
Jeff who? It's a fucking Porter Wagoner song
Buckley.
Porter didn’t write it lmao
