Remember rushing outside to watch a 3 engined DC4 flying over head arriving in Brisbane from overseas. Stood under the wings on engine starts ,to listen to the symphony that came out of those massive exhausts. Met the previous owner a few times and shared the joy and the frustration he endured owning an aircraft like this in Australia
I'm glad this old darling's found a good home and receives loving care. Seeing many DC-4s get scrapped out in the California desert is a painful memory of the early 1970s, when no one valued the airplanes as historical artifacts. I'm happy things have changed.
