That is not true at all! It's just an extremely old, out of date, myth. Maybe 20+ years ago it might have slightly been noticeable, but modern fluids are so refined that they have absolutely no effect on the taste of a cigar. The theory has been tested several times by many different people, some with super refined palettes, and almost everyone comes to the same conclusion that it just simply isn't true. You can find several test videos on the UA-cam. I personally use a Zippo because I prefer a soft flame and I've never noticed anything taste wise. Most of the only people that still try to claim that it effects the taste are the "cigar snobs" that believe the only correct way to light a cigar is with matches or a cedar still. In short it's just simply not true, please don't get caught up in the BS. Also great job on the cutter! It's a cool unique design. Definitely something to be proud of!
