    In Classical Chinese, it's common to refer to oneself in third person, and it really does the exact same psychological trick.

    The I Ching is not only an extension of you, it is an extension of the living Universe. Another term for the "Universe" is "Universal Consciousness." They both mean the same thing.

      Absolutely! One question I do sit with, albeit one seemingly impossible to answer, is whether the I Ching is part of the manifested universe of toil and growth, and if we could transcend ourselves, would the states of change even be a part of our reality anymore. These are BIG questions indeed! 😀

    The living Universe does not care what question you ask or how you ask it. It will use the I Ching oracle to tell you what you need to know regardless of how you phrase your question.

    I'm just learning I ching and I've started asking questions on the app, but I want to ask these questions in real life, so I ordered i-ching coins. Is it okay if I ask the same questions when it arrives?

      Thank you so much for sharing! Wonderful that your coins are on their way. I think they sounds like a good plan. Reset your questions with the coins, and then work with whatever they give you for your question. Best of luck!

    When doing divinations for myself, I almost ask this way: "What do I need to know about_______?" When divining for others, I usually ask, "What does John/Jane need to know about________?" The living Universe knows exactly needs to be known, and conveys that information to me through whatever oracle I am using.

    I disagree. When we use an oracle to converse with the living Universe, the living Universe always knows perfectly what information we need to know about any subject matter. Therefore, my question when using any oracle is usually, "What do I need to know about................" In this way, I get a perfect answer every time. The Universe will always tell you exactly what you need to know, regardless the exact nature of your question.

      Thanks James! Hence my note in the episode that you could simply cast the coins and still get a powerful answer. 🙏

    Thank you! How about ‘When’ questions? When will I get a job for example? How do the hexagrams tell the timeframe? thanks!

      That is such a great question, thank you. I have seen some resources where dating is possible yet not part of my own practice so cannot advise there. What I do try and do is time box the questions I ask to create greater focus. For example, if you ask 'what about my health?', for what period does this relate - our health now and at 80 years is a very different thing. So you would then ask 'what about my health this year?' And then changing lines can break a time period question up into phases of time, as I do for the monthly overviews. Hope that helps a little?

    I have a great question 😉 , where do I go from here if I want to continue learning about the I Ching?

    • @IChingCafe
      @IChingCafe  Рік тому +3

      Now THAT is a great question! Ha ha. It depends a lot on what you are looking to do. There are many channels and books with what I call academic and technical approaches that are wonderful for that kind of learning. Schools wise, this is an area of short supply, especially online learning. South America (Brazil especially) seems to have a lot going on in terms of courses and classes. From a practical perspective, the best way is to get busy and do the doing. Grab some friends and get them to write some great questions and play, work with it, and learn. It's the way I learned really. 😃🤓

    I ask yes or no questions all the time, and the I Ching answers them just as easily and clearly as it answers any other kind of question. Roughly half the questions I get from clients are yes/no questions, and the I Ching answers all such questions with the greatest of ease. No problem. Not ever.

    • @IChingCafe
      @IChingCafe  10 місяців тому +1

      I am delighted to hear that! 👍

    • @jamesnammack7535
      @jamesnammack7535 10 місяців тому

      Then there is no practical reason for you to tell people that there is something wrong with asking yes or no questions. The reality is that there is nothing at all wrong with it. The I Ching or any oracle answers yes/no questions just as easily and accurately as it answers any other kind of question. This taboo against asking yes/no questions is nothing but rank superstition.@@IChingCafe
