You could tie the end of the copper wire to your truck and floor it and then you will rip that copper wire straight through in half a second.

This is more like it. I was searching for an instructional video on the non-environmentally obsessive (but undoubtedly faster) method for removing the sheathing for scrap wire. One of two methods came to my mind; 1.) melt it as you seem to be doing. 2.) maybe a aluminum tub or metal horse-feeder tub filled with a unique 'volatile chemical liquid that would melt away the plastic while leaving the copper relatively undamaged. Of course, with the second method wearing protective gloves and very deliberate movements during the procedure would be advised, in case the liquid chemicals are dangerous to direct skin-contact.
Do you guys have any suggestions on what types of chemical liquids I could use to melt Romex sheathing while not ruining the copper? Maybe even submerge the entire operation in a porcelain tub in the backyard? I do know that different materials have different melting-responses to different chemicals. And I'm sure there would be a way to do this, if you know what to chemical liquid to use for such a procedure.
But burning works too from what I've heard from acquaintances in the trades, friends, and those who's creative self-reliance I do trust...
Honestly peeling the sheathing by hand w/ a blade or even one of those rotary strippers IS WAY TOO SLOW OF A PROCESS in my opinion

I was thinking of getting a box of razor blades and bolting all 5 that come in a box together and making some sort of sandwiching stripper that you cLamp down or some how weigh the razor blades down on the wire when pulling it. I figure having a bunch of razor blades will make the kinks and hard bends a lot easier to deal with. Also running wire back and forth over an edge will smoothen the wire out before stripping it. Mounting a drill with a spool on the end using that to pull he wire through isn’t a bad idea either .

This could totally be an infomercial…..
*Not only will this system separate just the copper wire, but it will also separate your front porch from your house, which in turn will free up some space to build a new porch AND a whole new separation system! But wait it doesn’t stop there; over time, it will create more separation as your wife is tired of you spending so much time building porches and separating copper wire! The benefits just keep coming! But wait, there’s more! It also comes with many sub-sets like the separation between your shoulder joints, ankle joints, knee joints, muscles, tendons, etc! It’s a must have for anyone who’s looking for something after they have found everything else!! Act fast and receive a 15 minute psychotherapy session with our best consultants absolutely free!! Try clamping a utility knife blade over the hole on a slight angle. (Hammer it in first, its holds better)
I set up a whole system like that, goes though very easily, without needing to pull hard at all!
And once you get the right position you don't need to reposition it for a while.

@@guslulou8428 Still alot more work than needed. There are ways to strip wire that take away pretty much any physical labor. My dad invented a wire stripper that uses a drill to move the wire through a hole that has a razor blade in it that cuts a line straight down the insulation as he runs the drill that pulls it through the hole. He can strip hundreds of feet an hour. I'm only on here looking to make my own device so I don't have to borrow his
