    I have a deep complexion (dark skinned Black woman) and I could use the contour/bronze section as eye shadow 😅 I have seen many people taking about how this should have come in light, medium and deep.
    I wish the eye shadow had been released separately-I would have gotten that.
    Wow! I really like my Dior lip oils and honestly, I have a few other brands but mainly use the Dior. Anyway, I kind of thought I was over lip oils but these Guerlain ones certainly have caught my interest! I am very impressed by the tint! I did get annoyed when you first said it was plumping but got happy when you said there was no sensation❤
    I wonder what the shelf life of her new eyeshadows will be. I will faint if it’s six months like our friends over at Dior😢
    You looked so beautiful and the palette works well for you. ❤

      Thank you so very much! So these are 24 month shadows but they’re not actually clean beauty, they are just talc free so perhaps that is why. But I still think it’s ridiculous that Dior slaps a six month lifespan on theirs. That is just lazy chemistry. They could do better than that but they choose not to.

    GenX/Millennial Cusp here. I am definitely not one-and-done. I have been playing with this palette for the last few days, and I'm still deciding how I feel about it. I have light to light/medium skin, and I'm able to use the contour/bronzer shades on my face and for blending out the eyeshadows in the crease. The formula on the bronzer shades and blush shades is pretty fantastic, in my opinion. I'm a bit perplexed by the eyeshadows. My more successful looks with them have been cool-toned and smoky, definitely not "no-makeup-makeup," like this palette is marketed.The "Everyday" and "Soft" shades are very meh on me, but the deeper "Casual" and "Statement" pack a punch and can be sheered out. The topcoat shade "Dreamy" adds some nice dimension and sparkle. TBD on this palette, for sure!

    Gen X and love eyeshadow! I work with many Gen Z and can attest that they don't wear eyeshadow looks. Isn't that normal, though? I certainly didn't do my make up like my mom ( she wouldn't have dared wear all that 80s purple and blue!). I don't think one is better or worse, or that anyone should be made fun of for the difference (like I've seen on some IG posts). Wear what makes you feel pretty, or artistic, or original!

      I absolutely agree with you. When I was a kid we did kind of a one and done blue look or purple look or whatever. Very true. And it changes with the times. Right now one and done is quick and that kind of goes with TikTok the same way that they say hemlines rise and fall with the economy. It’ll switch back.

      I think you really make an important point here in that part of the joy of applying makeup for a lot of people is it intricate eye look. Kind of like telling a chef that he should just use store prepared meatballs when the joy might be soaking the bread and forming the meatballs and making sure that they are the same size. It’s just not gonna go over well with so many people. So I absolutely understand that.

    I think I'm a millennial born late 1980's ? I like to do complete eyeshadow looks but only for fun and normally don't have time for it so 98% of my looks are neutral simple looks. I'm very excited about this pallet because I feel like it will be perfect for the days I hit the snooze button to many times and now I only have 10 to get ready. It's very convenient it has a bronzer, blush and a one and done eyeshadow in one. I can grab it with out having to think.

    I’m Gen X and I do love eyeshadows and I’d actually like a really good face palette, kinda of laid out like this. But somehow I’m not wowed by this one. Eyeshadow color looks nice but I think the highlighter should be a little more highlighter and a bronzer color would work for me as I am about same as you. Don’t really love the blush color. I really liked the mini blush palette she just released which was more peachy in color.
    Now the guerlian lip oils, be still my beating heart… problem is I ordered already 2 Westman lip suede lipsticks…. I COULDN’T RESIST 🫣 But these oils are beautiful ! I can’t wait for your lip oil video💋❤

    I love the shades of shadows as a mature adult 😂😅 but I do feel she could of added different shades to accommodate us all. Just be inclusive already Geesh! That’s probably my biggest aggravation with many companies especially higher end. I have one daughter who is Mexican and Spaniard so she has a very light Snow White complexion. My youngest is very tan.. I’m light to medium, at my palest right now 😭😩 my mom who is very tan. We are Hispanic so it’s frustrating to me. I’ll see if I’ll keep it. It’s coming today. Great review, sorry for rant, 😅 love the 2 shades you chose! Can’t for a comparison review 🫶🏼

    • @NotFitforPrintBeauty
      @NotFitforPrintBeauty  7 місяців тому +1

      Not a rant. These are your honest thoughts. I am absolutely listening. Exactly. We have every shade of skin in one family. Same in my family. My father is very olive toned. My daughter drew a picture of the family once when she was in preschool and she had my dad drawn as dark brown and the rest of us different shades. So This is just a fact. One shade does not fit all and I always wonder how this fits in with the budgets that these large brands are making. But you make such an excellent point. People don’t want to buy large pallets where they can only use a few of the shades.

I don't need that new Natasha Denona. I work most of the days from home and for officeday I can pick out of all I have as long as it is not too bold. I work at a bank. For travel I go two weeks camping in France as my vacation and do a citytrip. So for travel I don't need a lot and nothing special. I can always use my Hourglass Jellyfish palette and get a mini Natasha Denona eyeshadow palette. It will fit in my bag. I don't get the bronzer in this one. The deepest shade is too dark for pale me but to light for everybody above medium. The blush is fine for me.

    I think I'm a boomer but I'm right on the edge between that and whatever comes next - I can never keep them straight lol. When I do wear eyeshadow I am still down for full glam, bring on the metals and the glitter lol, OK, maybe not for the occasional day I go to the office, but if it's a special occasion, bring it on. Same for highlighter - I still like to be seen from space lol. For the lip oils - I don't mind the honey fragrance as long as there is no minty smell, I hate my lip products reminding me of toothpaste. AND are they as silky smooth as my holy grail, MERIT that I am wearing as I write this? I still pretty much wear those every day. I'm super stoked for the lip oil comparison, if at all possible, I'd really appreciate knowing which ones are plumping, minty or tingly cause that is all a no for me. Sounds like the Guerlain ones might be OK though. Oh as well are these nicer than the new Haus ones? Sorry for all the commentary lol, lip oils are my thing - or at least trying to find ones that can compete with MERIT. Every since ND pulled out of Sephora Canada and I no longer pay attention to her products sadly.

    • @NotFitforPrintBeauty
      @NotFitforPrintBeauty  7 місяців тому

      Do not be sorry. I love your commentary. I am really trying to formulate how to do this video in my head. And I think basically, yes, we need to put them into perspective in terms of which ones are plumping and which ones are plumping with mint etc. Which ones are smooth, which are sticky Which are thick, which are more like a gloss etc. etc.

  • @sallyjones9702

    I’m a baby boomer 😮 and I still work full time which involves travel so this palette appeals because according to ND the eye shadows are designed to be applied with fingers! Yes!!! When I have time I go the whole hog and do light/dark/ shimmer/blend blah blah blah but sometimes a quick swipe with a finger and nice brush for a quick blend is all I want.
    As far as lip oils go? If I want to condition my lips, my Laneige overnight mask meets all my requirements both day and night. These lip oils remind me of a gloss which used to be in a glass tube with a roller ball in the 70s and 80s. It was a similar effect with very little pigment and lots of shine. So far I haven’t been tempted at all to dip my toe in to the lip oil trend.

    I'm not a Natural Look person. Starlette was too light, gave it to my daughter. I've heard a few say it would look good on mature skin (eye wise) which is ironic as the appeal of "cleaner" is more to younger kids. I believe it's smaller than the MIDI yet...you can swap out shades as I like options (and getting rid of that 1 shade we always hate) so I ordered it. Our skin tone is close so always good to hear you weigh in. I like the fact that I think it's smaller than the Midi palettes. I notice I always use the smaller palettes than the huge ones. Ps kept that Glamazon to go palette, limited shades yeah but easy to use, works well ...can add one from another if I want and perfect for travel.
    Compared to the other face palette, actually I love the Cream Blush in that one that I've heard ppl complain about. It's smooth, you can build it...stays on. Creamer is better and no talc is nice.
    Thanks for the review!!

    I’m gen x. I like 2-3 shades in an eye look-- but I also love a good one and done. The older I get I find I look better with 1-2 shades. Simple looks prettiest on me. I really only buy quads or singles now for that reason- my bigger palettes collect dust. Every time I pull out a Natasha midi palette I love the look I get- I have to put them right in front of my drawer so I remember to use them. I don't know why they want to put fragrance in that lip gloss. The palette looks okay, but I think that eventually I will take the 3 shades with aluminum powder out of the I Need.A Nude palette and then put some of these eyeshadows into that palette. And then just keep using that one. I am Gen X and usually just use 3-4 colors in the same basic ways per look. I seem to get the most use out of quads.

    I’m a millennial and I just ordered this palette. I think some of my generation likes the “clean girl” aesthetic that this caters too, and I feel I’m in both camps. I love quick and easy looks but I also can do a full eyeshadow look as well. I’m in my mom era tho, and need something easy and I love that this is talc free so I’m 💯 on board. One thing though, I wish this wasn’t marketed to be suitable for all skin tones, and that she came out with at least 2 versions. I am extremely fair so this will work for me and almost might be a bit too pigmented but I’m sure a lot of people would have the opposite problem.

    Hi Rebecca! I'm your fan from GEN X. I like eyeshadows and i like an effortless look (even we actually have to put a lot of effort to achieve it 😁). There is a trend (especially in East Asia) and techniques to use less vibrant color to achieve a bigger eye look and younger look. I think this new face palette is the palette for it. The shades "Soft" and "Dreamy" are so pretty and so easy to achieve an effortless look. Also, it's really amazing that Natasha can create a pink/peachy color and the look is totally different from her previous ones (e.g. the peachy / pink shades in INAN or retro). I really like this palette because the design and the color story make me very happy by just looking at it. 🥰

    Hi Rebecca! Thank you for investing in ND’s face palette and Guerlain’s new lip oils. The ND face palette is ideal for your skin tone - and if my skin tone were warm, I would go for it. Unfortunately, I have a fair-cool skin tone. IMO, face palettes should be customizable and refillable. Ideally, the eyeshadow unit would come in a fair and a deep version, and the bronzer/blush/highlighter shades would be available in cool-fair, cool-medium, warm-fair, warm-medium and warm-deep versions. Such a system, however, would be a costly impractical investment - especially nowadays, with so many brands struggling to attract/retain a critical mass of customers across generations and demographics - there are few brands like Chanel, which managed to survive through COVID and through 2-3 years of repetitive “red” collections (that suited no one, even Kristen Stewart), and in spite of a limited range of demographic targets (i.e. promotion pics mostly show white blonde women in their 20s). As for Guerlain’s glow oil, it looks very dewy and the shades are pretty and feminine - I prefer and adore Guerlain’s lip balms so I will pass on this too. I thank you again and I appreciate seeing you demo both of these products, and hearing your thoughts.

    Hi dear Rebecca, loved the video, and the products look so beautiful on you!!!🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩This lip oil is on the way, i waited for a 25pct reduction action at Douglas here in NL, i did choose the lightest shade, what's it called, i believe 258. The ND palette is on the way, i did not expect to order it, since i decluttered almost everything from these more, not so soft for sensitive eyes, type of brands. But different formula, and i was on Beautylish, i thought lets give it another try, i love easy stuff, and that there is bronzer and blush included. You're right about the bronzer shades, should have been much more inclusvie when i see your swatches, and your really a light to medium, not to light and not super medium skintone as well. I am more light than light medium, cooler undertones mostly. Interesting, a new formula, however i would have loved if she would have made a 2nd palette for deeper complexions. I did see some reviews, but not from our friends with deeper complexions yet, or maybe new ones are there. Anyway, a super good video!!! I would love to see a lip oil comparison! Lipsticks, comme ci, comme ca, but lip oils, lip balms, coloured or not, lip gloss that's all i wear! Super good video, and that lavender shade is also cute from Guerlain, Rebecca! Sending you lots of love!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤

    I'm medium tan and ordered this from her website on launch day but still waiting for it to ship. I'm worried this isn't going to work for me after seeing reviews. I'm quite disappointed that she gave the ability to pop out the shades but didn't give people bronzer and blush options to choose from upon ordering. I don't think it would have costed her that much money to have a few palette options ready to ship with the same packaging. I'm also not happy that in her campaign she specifically says this works on all skin tones. In my opinion, if you can't use the shades how they are intended then you can't say that it works for you. Hourglass is even doing a better job at trying to be more inclusive. Every skin tone deserves a natural nude makeup look that complements there skin tone perfectly. These brands make so much money off of fooling us. Anyway I'll see how it goes when the palette arrives. I appreciate your review🤗❤️

    GenX here and I have ZERO interest in clean beauty. I’m not opposed to it entirely because I don’t want to consume asbestos or lead but give me everything else! I’m an 80s/90s child, I can handle the preservatives and all the stuff tossed my way😂 What I want is high quality makeup, that’s all. I love pigment and depth, but if this is going to be her new shadow formula, I will probably look to other brands for eyeshadow purchases.
    I like complex eye looks BUT let’s define what a complex eye look really is. I can use several basic shades and that’s not complex in my opinion. I consider complex that involves lots of vibrant colors with cut creases and lashes. Sure, one is done is less complex but using 2 or more shades isn’t complex either. This palette is a no for me. I really hate everything about it, which is a huge statement from me because I normally love all of ND’s products even if the color story doesn’t work for me . I still appreciate her artistry and vision but this looks like something from Tarte or Too Faced. I think I read that the shadows can be used with fingers, but that’s not going to work for me. I’m not sticking my fingers into my palette then my lids, nope, can’t do it. That’s why I have makeup brushes. Maybe this palette is geared toward the tweens invading Sephora, who knows.
    Lastly, I’m not even going there with the bronzer/contour shades, which will not work for anyone deeper than light medium. I’m almost glad she didn’t make a deep/dark variation, as I would have been compelled to purchase. This is a disappointment from the great Natasha Denona even though the shadows look pretty.
    As much as I love lip products. I have yet to try one single lip oil! I don’t know what is getting in the way of me picking up one at least to try, even an inexpensive lip oil. Maybe I’ll try one during the sale. Can you refresh my old memory and share some of your favorites❤❤❤

When you said this is kind of like a tarte or too faced palette from Natasha I stopped and thought for a minute and I can actually kind of agree with that to be honest. I see your point. And it does seem to be geared towards 14 to 22 years old I like it because I just don’t work that much with shadow. I’ve never been an eyeshadow person. But That just makes me luckily on trend. You know like that person who wears the same pair of pants for 20 years and therefore they’re in style once every seven years or whatever.

      @@NotFitforPrintBeauty Yea!!! I’m excited for the lip oil video!!! I put a bunch of them in my sephora cart last night and noticed that some are very pigmented, look like gloss, or look like an oil. I don’t realize soo many options existed. The new ND palette does seem to be an entry product to the brand. I just can’t see myself using this for my current lifestyle. I have to admit, I LOVE LOVE eyeshadows BUT most of my looks are very basic with quinces and quads actually being my most used palette style. I wear alot of neutrals and just easy looks that don’t require much thought, which is one of the reasons I love ND palettes, ease of use. You know no one talks about her layout in her larger palettes, which is why I find her palettes sooo wonderful to use because so can create looks from any quad or row within the palette and the looks turn out fantastic PLUS come together quickly. Try that with a large PML palette, things can go bad very very quickly😂
      I understand every launch isn’t for me whether it’s color story, formula, layout etc., and I appreciate how many different palettes ND puts out in the year, so I’ll just cozy up with some of my favorites from her brand and wait ever so patiently for the next palette to come around that I happily add to my cart with glee.

    Good morning! My ND palette is out for delivery so I should get it today. I waited to see a review before ordering. I have similar coloring to you so I thought the shades would be perfect. I plan on using it when traveling.
    I’m 59 with hooded eyes. I love eye shadow but cannot do complicated looks anymore. The eye looks you did in this video are exactly my speed these days. lol

    Did you ever try the Clarin's lip oil? Cherry is the most popular (one I like), it reminds me of the red one. I use lip oils every day, I like a bit thicker consistency to stay on longer than 20 minutes. I was just curious 🤍

      Oh Cindy, I did but it was so long ago. I need to draw from the memory depths! But this Guerlain, it is exactly what you describe.

    Gen X here! 🙋🏻‍♀️ I used to do simple one and done eye looks with mascara in my 30s and 40s….but as I’ve aged I find that even a very simple shimmer across the lid needs some crease and outer corner definition because my eyes are now hooded. I’m team 2+ shades if I’m doing eye makeup!
    I’m with you! The Guerlain Kiss Kiss balms and oil packaging is just so pretty! The gold cubes with no sharp edges gets me every time. They’re just so pleasing to look at and hold. I love the balms but I don’t do plumping…so I’ll stick with them!
    The Lavendar Glow is beautiful on you as is the Poppy. They do look different on your lips.
    I don’t but eye/face palettes anymore, I just don’t use them. To me, esthetically this palette looks drab to me. It’s the cheek products. They look like kids makeup in the pan to me. I’d definitely buy just the eyeshadows to try the new formula if that was an option, but since it’s not, I’ll pass on this palette. It’s just not for me, but I love the way the shadows look on the lid!
    Have you seen that YSL is re-doing their Candy Glaze lip products 😱. They are my absolute favorite thing so I’m scared…and it looks like they did away with the clear pink (#2) which is my favorite. Everyone seem psyched, but I’m nervous as always when a favorite is redone! 😩

    • @NotFitforPrintBeauty
      @NotFitforPrintBeauty  7 місяців тому

      When a favorite is redone, it is totally anxiety producing. And I mean it. We come to rely on these products and refill them. So there is reason for worry. I do believe that. Regarding Natasha, I think you are echoing the thoughts of many many people. The new formula is intriguing but not intriguing enough to grab something that looks not quite one size fits all.

    • @cindyp5132

      I agree with more than 2 eyeshadows! With light skin, light hair & light eyes I need definition & obvious contrast. And I'm the same with face palettes; I just don't use them! Did you try the Clarin's lip oil?
      Ps... No snow this year (yet) in the foothills 😢 even in Asheville on Monday it was 70°?!

      @@cindyp5132 I have tried the Clarins lip oil! I have the yellowish clear one and one with a silver shimmer. Both are gorgeous! I like that thicker consistency that means it will stay on your lips awhile. I need to try a red one!
      I can’t believe you all haven’t gotten any snow at all this year! We obviously haven’t in Charlotte either. Today it’s currently 68 and humid/muggy because it rained yesterday and will again today. Blech!!

    Two pretty products! I’ve become brand loyal to Givenchy recently for the nourishing formula and colors. Excited to have talc free from Natasha. This palette is getting a lot of hate. It’s good for light fair that have been left out of palettes and appealing to working professionals and mothers that have to get going in the morning.

    Gen X.❌️⭕️

  • @MarniMedia
    @MarniMedia 7 місяців тому +3

    I was born in 1978, so I'm technically Gen X but really on the border with the Millennials. I just think that this palette was a misstep from Natasha Denona -- nobody from any generation seems particularly thrilled with it, and she's not really a brand that appeals to Gen Z. The nice thing about ND is that while she sometimes releases odd palettes or products, she also takes risks like with the Yucca palette which at least stood out from other things on the market. But with this palette, the colors and layout are giving "free gift from Estee Lauder in the '80s," and it's just not interesting enough to even tempt me. Nevertheless, I always love watching your reviews, so thank you for doing them! 🙏😊

      I choked on my Coke zero when you said free gift from Estée Lauder. That is hilarious. And you’re right. It almost feels like this is doing that whole Jack of all trades but master of none thing
