Bozman is a genius with this event. It’s like he knew it didn’t matter who got to the stairs first, or hell, who was about to finish, that this was an endurance test. Look how many people were behind in the run and beat people who were in the stairs a hell of a lot longer. What an event!
We STILL get goosebumps watching it. All the feels! Thanks for checking it out, Lars. Have you been watching our new Run the Test series that takes you behind the scenes into the programming of the CrossFit Games? An episode about the Capitol event will drop on Feb. 5! Time will tell! We can't wait to see what Boz and the crew have in store for the athletes this year. Will you be able to join us in Madison this year? Or tune in from home?
@@CrossFitGamesTV From home this year. I lived in Madison - stayed for 20 years after college there - but left last year. The capitol and State Street and the Capitol Trail around parts of the lake are great spots to have events where everyone gets together to support from the sidelines. It's a really athletic area overall I'd say.
Wait this happened already, I seen it live! Ok ok yes this was awesome! It was good when the women did it, The community and the athletes got into this event for them at the end!
45:00 Based on the way this ended with constant oversights and too much focus on "this is tough, this is hard, they are struggling" and how the men's Top 5 were all spoken of but the women had the most exciting battle. I feel like Sean Woodland should be the *only* commentator with occasional checks to these other guys cause HE is the ONLY one who speaks what's ACTUALLY happening AND he's excited for competitive wins even when it's 5/6/7. Now watching through my second CrossFit Games and it's like Sean Woodland is the only dude who's actually watching what we're watching. The others can be so distracted, maybe they're nervous but they go *OFF* the rails with the science side of things.
Just my experience but the commentary is so important because keeping up with first place is difficult due to the nature of the events and the sport itself.
Boy! This was painful to watch! I can feel the agony in all these athletes. They had nothing left in them. They left it all in the competition. Amazing! Inspiring!
You're at the wrong box. While the support might never be exactly like this, the support i received at my box was helpful in pushing me to finish my workouts in the past. If your community isn't supporting you, there are many other boxes that can be incredibly different. Find the right box community for YOU.
Get Chase off of commentary. This year was his absolute worse year. At 1:21:40 he goes to to say how Hayley Adams won’t let anyone pass her on the stairs; when 30 seconds earlier about six women pass her. That was one of many wrong things on this broadcast.
Abstolutely nothing to do with mentality. She’s in the bottom in strength of the all the girls there so those strongmen implements are already gonna be tough on her. On top of that grip strength is almost impossible to back quickly so if it goes in the hussafel carry, youre just doing intervals
@@CapEmpire I know, but she was just 3 metres away from the finish line, so those moments are when you have to push even harder. she was way ahead from the rest of competitors, so she didn't pace herself properly (lack of strategy).
@@CrossFitGamesTV the coverage could be better just by having a few additional cameras to focus on different competitors who aren’t leading the event. Everyone is invested in different athletes from the semi finals - would be good to through the field during an event.

01:04-01:20 Heat 1 Start, Bottom 20 Men and Women

@@sportsbettingeducation yeah who wants good souls? What this world really needs is more smug d-bags
@@sportsbettingeducation Yeah, by all accounts he's a great guy. Less of that, dammit!!
Wow loved this event, the grit to get those bags up those stairs and having everyone cheering on till the end was amazing
😁😁
Yes it was, so exciting

indeed, this was the most special moment. reminds me of the experience with Scott Panchik last year
Loved this event! Seeing that pure exhaustion at the end on the stairs was amazing. All of the athletes literally giving everything they had to give.
We couldn't agree more, Benny The Jet!

This workout was epic
Agreed.
@@CrossFitGamesTV You have to do this again next year. As it will be the last chance before the games moves location again.

@@CrossFitGamesTV Hey thanks! I will definetely take a look!

do you think id R. Froning decides to compete again in individials he would finish top 3 at 36 years old? and beat the 21-22 winner?
I think if he goes individual it’ll be as a master 🤷🏽♂️

However, the comments that all CF box gyms provide this type of support, unfortunately is not true.

was this event held in Washington?
Madison, Wisconsin
Commentators talk some crap 😂 “3.5miles is a monumental distance”…bro that’s a warm up for an easy run at best.
Ik this was a year ago but the context of the workload before and after the run makes it tough. I agree a 3.5 mile on its face is lightwork though

David goggins would destroy these athletes. His mental fortitude is beyond anyone and everyone

Her strategy was to push herself early when she knew she’d excel to make up for her weaknesses during the carries. She did amazing!
