Lost my mom to dementia a couple of years ago. Started to watch this vid but will have to come back to it at a later time. I am going to love. I am just going to love it on a stronger day. :)
Wow. Talk about a song that really hits you. I lost my Father Jim Rosenkrans IV in March. I'd been taking care of him for the last 7-8 years. eating dinner together and watching movies every night. And taking him to his appointments, and whatever else. So, this song really hits me. He really loved your music. He turned me on to you guys. Way back at The Weathervane, in Frederick, Maryland. Heck, back when it was just Pete. Roaming around the room, playing slide guitar with pieces of pizza. And then at the folk Club of Reston/Herndon. Where my Father turned that whole group of people onto your music. He would always take me, and my Sister Gin to any show of yours he heard about. It would be the highlight of the year pretty much for him. He really enjoyed your music, and it gave him great joy to both hear it, and to share it with others. Thank you so much for that. Those were some of my favorite memories of the two of them. We lost Gin 17 years ago today, so I will be visiting them both today at Mt.Olivet. I'll be sure to tell them all about the great new stuff you have been releasing. I am sure they would have loved to hear it. hopefully you two will make it back down here sometime again. I didn't hear of you playing Vinyl Acres, until Martha told me about it. I wish I could have caught you guys then. Great song. It is so cool to see you two still jamming, and still producing such wonderful music! Keep it groovy! Jim V
Jim - such a coincidence...we're driving to Virginia now...Pete's driving and I'm catching up on comments here. We're playing the Folk Club of Reston Herndon tonight! It's at the Amphora in Herndon. Would love to see you there. If you go, please say hi. - Maura
Yeah, I just called someone at the Folk club, and they say you guys are playing tomorrow. I am waiting to hear back on whether there are any tickets left or not. If so, I will see you there! Though if you are playing anywhere tonight, let me know!😸
Thank you, Kennedys, for a very beautiful and timely song. The video illustrates what many of us baby boomers will be facing in the coming years as we strive to insure the safety and well-being of our parents.
My parents Chris and Terry miss seeing you at Swing the Teapot! I'd like request "one heart one soul" or one of your "originals" for my mom for Mother's Day!
I took care of my most beloved gal in 2001 and 2002, until her death on Craig Marshall's birthday, May 19th. I wonder if Maura and Pete are on any recordings on UA-cam of Nanci Griffith's "This Heart".
Was able to catch your show this last Friday, I'm the lone caregiver for my 92 year old dad, so a large heartfelt thanks for this song , you sang it so beautifully. Seeing some live music is like a mini vacation for me, and this song made it extra special. Love you guys, see ya next mini vacay.
@@TheKennedys Thank you. You mentioned this issue at a show. i went through the experience with my mother and then my aunt. Strange, my mom became helpless but instead of fleeing, my love for her became a pure beam of light. Just as in your song.
@@gaspersignorelli3724 Yes, it was the same for my mother and then for my father. I think that beam of light is meant to help both the patient and the caregiver, and it allows us to focus on what is most important in life - the experience of being alive and of being human - so we can rise to our better selves. -MK
Great song with a great message. What will become of our elders if we don't take care of them as they once did us.
I JUST LOVE THIS SONG ✌❤ from HAMPTON, VA
Beautiful.
Wow best video sharing friend greetings know me from malaysia 👍👍

@@TheKennedys That would be awesome! But, isn't the Folk club on Tuesday?
@@leadfootproductions6824 Right you are...my mistake. We're driving down today but the concert is tomorrow!

Heartfelt.

Very good song and great video too.
Thanks so much!
Now I really understand why this song is so relevant at this time and always. Catchy beat and sung beautifully as usually.
Thank you for this song. For over thirty five years our father was in the record business. In his eighties he couldn't remember any of it.
What did he do?
Love this song. Maura’s voice flows like fine wine!

I help my mom everyday. Put my career on hold for it.
You’re a good son, Zach.
@@TheKennedys would you read my post on your latest stream? I have been trying to get a hold of you and now you respond to this.

The Kennedys always great.
A beautiful song, Maura and Pete. Having been a caregiver for my mom who had Alzheimers, this is especially poignant to me.
Great ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🎸💋🎹♥️
What a great song.
Thanks so much, Gasper! It's always an honor to take care of our elders when they need us.
