I was hoping that the actor who plays him would be the one of the cast members who they would keep on, because despite the storyline the actor and his character Carter has been very highly praised and loved by fans and viewers of the show. I wonder if they did this to the character deliberately knowing that they wasn’t keeping the actor on?!? The way they’ve ruined his character in such a short amount of time so he couldn’t be redeemed just feels off.
I bet we’re going to see Gareth more on the show, because as we saw he started to open his eyes to all the BS he’s been told over the years and seems to realize that JP was telling the truth. Him even telling Carter not to do it and told him repeatedly to lift JP up when Carter didn’t listen to him about not taking JP into the river.
And one thing I don’t get is how the cops didn’t find Kitty in that house when they searched it? It’s all taped off as a CS when Beau tracks her down there and she said she’s been there for weeks. The cops know that Carter was or could have been staying there and it’s all taped off after the whole Carter/JP and river situation, yet they don’t find her or her father who seems to be the one who is watching out the window and is the one who called the cops. There was no other way in or out that property besides that door we see by the looks of it, yet neither of them are found by the cops who clearly searched the house itself because it was taped off itself along with the side of the river and other areas as we see from the Beau showing up scene and seems to have put an end to the whole CT with what he accidentally does to save Kitty.
Carter did @tck Gareth he was clearly telling JP the truth about what happened to him and he didn’t know what was going to happen to JP. I’ve noticed that he’s also been eyeing up JP anytime we see him so it looks like he might be getting a redemption arc and we’re probably going to see the deprogramming from this storyline shown through both him (Gareth) and Lucas and he’ll likely be JP’s new love interest. They can’t just wipe out this whole storyline with the time jump and not show how the people who get involved in these things how they get better after going through all that, in Gareth’s case for years since he himself was a teenager!
I hope they have in a lunacy 🌚 arc, where he goes even more insane, not even following the Bible ✝, but his own delusions.
It would work well as a side story with him not being a main character anymore as well.

Oh for OA’s Carter you know this isn’t the right thing to do you know you were brainwashed by Declan when you were a Kid you’re being ridiculous. I feel sorry for John Paul and especially Kitty aka Ivy I heard she’s the one who called the police o by using her Father’s phone and the way Gareth was being towards all this seemed like was feeling guilty. That scene when Carter said to show him a sign that he did the right thing I’m hoping BB will be his little playmate and try to talk sense into him about being Gay is not a sin. Also as a Christian myself it took me 13 Years for me to get used to my Aunt Holly being Lesbian and I finally decided to get used to my Aunt Holly and the entire LGBT community (I never even also marched in a parade before but I’ve always wanted to and even experience a Gay bar or club) still being Gay etc. is not a sin and Carter’s totally lost it I just hope now he’ll seek therapy when he’s locked up and will come back in the future and reunite with John Paul. 🥺

I just can’t…. This storyline is 💩 and 🗑️. This would be believable if this was maybe 20, 30 years ago… Why isn’t Ivy’s story frontline instead of this? Hers is more relevant now and interesting. Her story needs to be explored. Lucas getting therapy over the root cause of his actual problem. His problem was never coming out, it was trauma caused by his parent’s trauma. But that isn’t being explored? Just a minor detail and is being framed as him having trouble with his sexuality. No wonder HO is going to 3 days soon… They aren’t picking stories that are relevant to today and letting others either go be the wayside or become some side story. Who did they consult on this?
