Any tips? I'm Going soon. I was thinking of Hiring a photographer is nothing too professional and expensive. I am horrible at taking pictures, anyone you know or can suggest to hire?
@@perlahernandez653 I dont know about photographers, I havent been lived there for last 10 years, just visited time to time, but I would suggest specifically staying in a cave hotel, which is a different experience. Hot air balloons are nice but overpriced, also safety of them are questionable, but they are generally safe. Göreme open air museum and Ihlara Valley are a must see. You might also want to think about taking an archeology tour. I suggest to make some search about them. Also check Kızılcukur Valley for sunset scenic point, its nice.
Exactly! That's Mesopotamia, fertile crescent, first civilizations in the world such as start of farming. And yes before Roman Emperor Constantine accepted Christianity as official religion of the empire, the first Christians were persecuted thus first Christian churches were built in caves, hiding place for Christians. P.S. Please, beware It snows really heavy in the winter in Cappadocia if anyone think about visiting during the winter. It was an awesome and magical video especially with Claire's beautiful smile. Thank you.
Cappadocia PERFECT-Visit Turkiye it won't disappoint you. buying food in Supermarket is smart, you know usually do not rain this much there, this year is unusual , they have Lots of rain, so did we in San Diego California, they are calling it Mid-stream , record snowfall in California mountains actually solved our water problem . unlucky, we stayed there 1 week, we loved it

That's definitely a place to spend 1 month (no exaggeration!).. As our savior -Atatürk said; ''Without a doubt, Antalya is the most beautiful city in the world.''
To see Cappadocia in all its splendor again is priceless. Harriet and I were there in the Fall of 2017 . We were lucky . We had the weather on our side. Enjoyed the balloon ride and the caves. We did have a guide to get around with. Well worth it. You are so right, using a guide is the way to go and you have the local economy showcasing what there is to see. Go to any otobus station in Turkey and buy a ticket to Nevşehir. If you are in a big city, you can find couple buses in a day. Depending on your location, it would probably cost something between 10 to 20 euros per person and your journey would take about 4-8 hours. When you arrive in Nevşehir otobus station, there are small buses to take you to Kapadokya. They cost something like 5 euros. Be careful not to fall into tourist traps. Or just share a taxi. Kapadokya from Nevşehir otobus station is less than 15 kilometers. You can even walk if you are broke or have free time. What I am trying to say is you could travel to Kapadokya from İstanbul less than 30 euros. Plane was unnecesarry in my opinion.
Maybe so and thanks for the suggestions. Our plane ticket was less than 30 euro and we had big luggage so walking 15 km is not an option unfortunately.
@@RhettandClaire Ahh Ok than. 30 euros for a plane ticket is sweet deal. Have safe travel guys. Love your videos. By the way, Do you consider visiting the black sea region?
Hi Rhett & Claire, loved the video ✨ Recently returned from Cappadocia. Its just stunning!! 16:46 Which drone have you used to capture aerial footages?
Thanks guys for another great and informative video. These have been so helpful for our planning. Sorry that some of it was a bit disappointing but seems like you guys still had a wonderful time and kudos for the great attitude. We wanna do similar stuff to you...hikes, sunrises, some of the museums etc. If staying in Goreme, would you recommend hiring a car for the stay or did you do just fine walking and taking taxis etc? We are leaning towards a car but wonder if it's actually needed or not.
Thank you for watching 🙏🏼 Hiring a car is definitely a good option. Especially if you want to explore Uchisar. There is the underground city there and cool cafe’s. We didn’t hire a car because we chose a really good location for our accommodation in Goreme. We could walk to dozens of restaurants and cafes and even walked to the open air museum. We didn’t use a taxi in Goreme itself. Then for balloon they usually pick you up at your hotel. So all in all, if you chose your accommodation well the you can get away with no car hire😊 To do underground city if you have no car you can take the bus to Uchisar or get a taxi for around $50.
@Rhett and Claire OK, thanks guys. We will check based on where we book accommodation. Can't wait to see your coastal trip coz we are also planning to drive through parts.
Hi Rhett and Claire! I'm sorry to hear your scary experience with the taxi driver. Please, try to record those taxi drivers as well to expose them. If I were in a foreign country, having a taxi driver like that would be really scary. At the opening, you have shown a walk in wardrobe. It looks like the ensuite bathroom. My grandfather had 3 story house in the village on the Black Sea from his grandparents from the Ottoman Empire time. Every room had an ensuite bathroom like that. It was like walk in wardrobe and all wood, and a bench to sit down. I don't know how the wood survived hundreds of years. I didn't like it because it's small like a walk in wardrobe, couldn't walk around but sit down and shower, and also had no lights. But the room had lights.
Taxi drivers biggest crime is very very seldom, they over charge you, nothing life threatening or anything, but if you call the police they will make sure he gets punished, 90% of taxis have meters in them ,Turkish police is very nice and very courteous

Hey guys, the video is highly informative. Could you guys let me know in which month you visited Cappadocia? And which was the second hotel you stayed in ?
Turkey is a paradise for non-Turkish people and those who earn their money in dollars, euros or sterlin. A simple example, the minimum rent in Istanbul is 15-20.000 Turkish liras per month (15,000 TL = 576.04$). People's salary is 8,500 TL per month (8,500 TL = 326.42$). I did not mention food, drink, school expenses, transportation costs, if you have children, their expenses and many more. and people have to work 12-14 hours a day for this 8,500 Turkish lira. I mean, they don't have enough money or time to travel and have fun. Another example, I am 32 years old and I have never seen Cappadocia, Oludeniz, Istanbul or other places to visit in my life because it is very expensive and impossible for someone who earns 8500 Turkish lira per month. Turks who are not very rich cannot enjoy Turkey. We find it difficult to live in this country for economic reasons but it's good to see others are able to live. I wish we could travel and have fun like you. But we can't. Because we are Turkish citizens. In conclusion, if you are Turkish, Turkey is a hell for you. But if you're not and you're making money other than Turkish lira, welcome to heaven.
