F150 Backup Camera Flickering

This video shows our diagnosis and repair of a 2019 F150 with a flickering backup camera. The only code in the vehicle was a C1001 - Camera Vision System General Electrical Failure. After inspecting several electrical connectors the camera was replaced which resolved the issue.

My backup camera just started doing that on my 14' f150. It will work fine for a bit, then it starts to flicker. It's a hit or miss.

My 2017 Limited has red screen at night backing up when in dark area. Ford has changed camera but it still happens and I have searched and never seen a solution or cause for this. No one else seems to have this isuue. I bought in 2019 and it has always done this at night. Any thoughts?

The price of the camera probably affects it more than anything. I have no idea why, but there are probably at least 50 different cameras depending on the year and model of Ford, and they are any where from $35 to $450.

what about the lines how do you get them back

Depends on the year and model we’re talking about. A lot of vehicles require some configuration after the camera is installed. It also usually makes a differance on what’s required, if the vehicle is equipped with pro trailer backup or the 360 degree camera system.
