This is an excellent MIDI tutorial. I knew much of this already but it was a good reminder, very well presented.
When I thought I knew enough about midi, along came this video to teach me a thing or two. Thank you and I'll be looking forward to the second part!
Thanks! I’m already halfway done with the script. It’s a little daunting trying to sort out what I think people should know. There’s just so much!
You can write a textbook! Your consistency and method are amazing! Thanks!👍
Absolutely great tutorial 🍀🍀🍀👍🏼
Excellent ! Great MIDI instruction.
Dear Ruben.. thanks a lot.. this helps a lot, very usefull information.
Best MIDI tutorial ever! Thank you!
Looking forward to this series
I enjoyed this episode and I'm looking forward to more. I have been using midi for some time and still learned a lot from this video.
Thanks for the refresher. There are just so many parameters that you forget are even there. ;O)
okay this is really really helpful
thank you so much for this
thank you for this...
Great video 👏🏻 waiting the next parts
This clears up quiet a few missing links. Many Thanks
Very nice and well-organised video. Thanks! Perhaps it would be worth mentioning that in better virtual instruments expression and velocity affect not only the volume (“amplitude “) of a note, but also how it sounds. E.g., a trumpet played louder gains harmonics, may distort a bit, and so on. (I’m sure you know this, but some in your audience may not.) Thanks again for this post, and I look forward to the next one, as a useful refresher!
Nothing new to me but it's very well put, really clear. So it's a video I can share with people that are a little bit overwhelmed by all those cc 😉
Great video. Perhaps worthwhile to mention the difference between tremelo, which is a variation in amplitude (volume) vs vibrato, which is a variation in frequency (pitch). Looking forward to future videos.
Appreciate so much your content and clear delivery ... you probably don't realize how much your sharing means to so many musicians ... technologies are not easy for many of us ... and you help so much in so many ways ... always know, your willingness to share and educate is most appreciate .... your channel and presentations are "TOP-SHELF" in every respect ... can't wait for your. Part 2 MIDI video ... just joined your email list ... and for a birthday present, I'm hopefully going to book a Zoom session with you soon ... thank you again!!
Great info!! Thanks!!
Thanks!
Great one, will wait for the complete series from scratch ☺
Our hero🎆✨️
COULD NOT FIND PART 2. I STILL SUBSCRIBED AND SAVED WEB SIGHT THANKS. ALL CAPS BECAUSE SELF TAUGHT TYPIST, IT'S EASIER
Hi Ruben, i have bought your online lessons and following you for months. Apart from the ample sound tutorials, can you make some videos about the tone of midi guitar? For example, using Guitar Rig/ AmpliTube/ dsp neural after programming the midi ample sound guitar? Any recommended setting/pedal for different genre? I am able to program the ample sound plugin after taking your lessons, but I have been struggling with the tone of different genre for a long time and still dont have a solution. Your works is much appreciated!!
Hi there! in your website in the section products I see a "all course access" which seems to include 4 courses, but when I click on it it takes me to AMPLE SOUND GUITARS: THE COMPLETE COURSE
Do you have tutorials specifically catered for SWAM instruments?
hey there i don't know how to give suggestions for ample sound
can you tell them to make pop punk electric guitars ?
Trying to explain to my friends why a keyboard controller has no sound makes their eyes gloss over. It is at those times I refer them to Rubin's videos.
Great video but not a lot of technical midi info.
Swam is a bit inaccessible to beginners. Otherwise good job.
Get back to Logic 😊
I occasionally use Logic for certain projects, but it got too buggy for me. And Cubase’s MIDI and Audio workflow made me wish I had started on it sooner.
You should make this video a prerequisite for your Ample Guitar course. I spent the whole time thinking that CC values were single numbers that you entered somewhere on the low notes of the piano roll. You’re a terrific teacher.
One quick question. When I drag from Chorder to Reaper, the current chord does not come along. Do I need to go Chorder > Riffer > Reaper?
