I understood it perfectly, it's not meant to be viewed by absolute beginners but by people that already know them and just want a quick refresh. Excellent job.
WOW dude!!! (With respect). GREAT video! This was the quickest, crispest, clearest explanation of OSPF I've ever seen! Thought I'd spend the day getting refreshed on OSPF area types, summarization and LSA types for a workshop next, but it only took 5 minutes and 27 seconds!!!! :) THANK YOU!
most amazing fast explanation i ever seen, thanks jeremy, you are my cisco learning godfather,i achieved CCNA certificate because of your nuggets and also almost achieved the CCNP route exam 742/790,,,,retaking the exam in 3 days with gods help.....
AWS SAAD Thanks for the feedback! We will pass along your comments to Jeremy. Congratulations on earning your CCNA and good luck with your CCNP! Keep us updated on how the exam goes!
Thanks for this video, it is the most helpful and straightforward way to explain areas and LSA types! Most every other source including official Cisco press make it so convoluted, videos like these are a blessing!
I was amazed how you explained in just 5 minutes and I was studying with some video tutorial trying to explain it for hours . Cisco even make it very unclear . Thank you very much .
I appreciate this fast explanation style. It helps me get the material sooner so I can move on to other subject matter. I can always play it again if I miss something.
This was well done. When I first started learning about LSAs it was so dry and boring I thought I'd die from the dullness. This video clearly explained what LSAs are and did it in a short time, a mark of a good teacher.
This was the fastest and clearest Explaination of the LAS Types :) What others try to explain in 1 Hour got summarized and optimized in 5 minutes. Good job.
Jeremy I love all your videos. Keep up the good work. You rock. If I may be allowed to add a few lines to your masterful and fun method of teaching. LSA & Area Types Relationship: Stub = Block 4 & 5 LSA NSSA = Blocks type 5 LSA originated from backbone area but allow type 7 originated from within the NSSA (nonbackbone area ASBR). Totally Stub = Totally (block3LSA) + Stub (block 4&5 LSA) Totally NSSA = Totally (block 3LSA) + NSSA (block 4&5 LSA but allow type 7) + Stub (block4&5 LSA) "Totally" means Block 3 LSA (Cisco proprietary configured only on ABR) in addition to whatever LSA's are being blocked by the word following "Totally". e.g. Totally stub: Block 3 LSA in addition to the ones already blocked by the word "Stub" which are 4 &5 "Totally" Is not on itself an area type.
Holy shnikeys! This is Jeremy after 10 shots of espresso!! This is best explanation I've ever heard or read. Concise and to the point. I never fully understood stub, totally stubby and NSSA until this video. Now it's very clear what the differences are and what they represent. And I actually love the fast talking. It makes you stay focused out of fear of missing something lol Nicely done Jeremy!!!!
Jeremy you are my teacher since many years, i enjoy listening to your voice and your lovely jokes. You are the master of Networking. Can't thank you enough. Please produce more of these videos and make your own channel. Hope to see videos on Virtualization and AWS/Azure from you soon.
Rishab, Thanks for the feedback. Jeremy is an excellent teacher. Could you be a little more specific in your question? The CBT Nuggets training series will cover all material needed to pass the specific exam.
great video! of course u must have a good knowledge already to fully understand this video, but it is a great way to quickly remember all about OSPF area and LSA types. AWESOME
Wairission, thank you for the comment and training request. Jeremy's Cisco CCNA Labs: Cisco for the Real World training course goes into OSPF in detail in 3 different Nuggets: cbt.gg/18lYcqf. Jeremy also discusses BGP in detail in his Cisco CCIP BGP training course: cbt.gg/1f0vehg
Wairisson Gomes Thanks for the clarification. Your request has been noted but we recommend formally requesting a training course on the CBT Nuggets Forum here: cbt.gg/18wNTfS Thanks for the request.
Super awesome video. Thanks for all you and the team at CBT Nuggets do. I hope to take my CCENT2 exam within the month. I have been beating my head over an OSPF question for a while now, and am hoping you, or any viewer, can offer some clarification. Assume R2 is the ABR between area 0 and area 10. Router 5 is the neighboring router in area 10, and is the gateway to a range of subnets, from 10.1.0.0/19 to 10.1.54.0/24, that need to be summarized. Instead of configuring the "area 10 range 10.1.0.0 255.255.192.0" command on R2, why can't I just summarize the networks using the "R5(config-router)# network 10.1.0.0 0.0.63.255 area 10" command to advertise the summary? I have actually done it successfully in GNS3. I'm sure there is a reason; I just can't figure out what it is. Thanks a ton in advance! :0)
Every single time I need an OSPF refresh, I come to this video. Thanks Jeremy
crazy, i've just spend like 3 hours studying this and you just show it to me in 5 minutes... Give this man a medal!
I literally just said the same thing to my girlfriend and she had no idea, but I am amazed! Definitely a medal!
This five minute video did a lot better than two chapters in the Cisco books. Great work.
Cisco purposely makes things sound more difficult than they really are...quite annoying.
@@jeff_mci_gaming6018the main draw back for cisco is that they tell the details but not the story
@@abinjoseph9808 That's a great way to explain CISCO.
@@jeff_mci_gaming6018 THANK YOU! It is so fucking true!
Can't agree more.
I understood it perfectly, it's not meant to be viewed by absolute beginners but by people that already know them and just want a quick refresh. Excellent job.
"I'm gonna sit down now, and breathe in a brown paper bag" Golden. :)
Thanks Jeremy!
We are glad you enjoyed this MicroNugget and we want them to do exactly that! Thanks for the feedback.
kept repeating a nugget for days regarding LSAs. This is the first time i understood it! Micronuggets work! Thanks Jeremy!

Its been 3 days. So did u make it?!
This is the best OSPF video the Internet has ever been blessed with. Awesome work Jeremy!
I had to watch it twice in a row, but those were the most effective 11 minutes I've spent on CCNP. Kudos to Jeremy.
Exactly what i needed.
I have to learn 500 pages and do a lot of exams aspart of my preparation to my final exam, such videos are perfect for me 🙂
Thanks for this video, it is the most helpful and straightforward way to explain areas and LSA types! Most every other source including official Cisco press make it so convoluted, videos like these are a blessing!
This is literally the most awesome OSPF LSA networking explanation I've ever seen.
I've been watching videos of 30 min explaining this concept and didn't understand like i did with this one, thank youuu.
I was amazed how you explained in just 5 minutes and I was studying with some video tutorial trying to explain it for hours . Cisco even make it very unclear .

Every time I see this I am astonished how you guys simplify all this.
Kudos!!

Rishab,
Thanks for the feedback. Jeremy is an excellent teacher. Could you be a little more specific in your question? The CBT Nuggets training series will cover all material needed to pass the specific exam.

Lmfaooooo "Eh they're really type 5's." 😂😂😂😂 Great work on the video, impressive presentation.
Clear as mud!!!
u r the best Jeremy!!!
In 5.5 minutes covers the types of LSA's including the OSPF "Ninja" OSPF type 7 LSA's on an NSSA.
We need a serie only about OSPF just like BGP, it is a very complicated protocol and awesome.
I mean an exclusive serie about OSPF, just like the awesome BGP series.
Wairisson Gomes Thanks for the clarification. Your request has been noted but we recommend formally requesting a training course on the CBT Nuggets Forum here: cbt.gg/18wNTfS Thanks for the request.
Amazing explanation. Thank you!

Amazing video, died at the "Huh, they are really Type Five"
this video just earned you a sub.
Jeremy's breath timers are misconfigured !
Keep up the awesome work Jeremy..
