Small Center Consoles at 2023 Miami Boat - What Does 70k to 225k Get You?
Вставка

- How big a difference does 3 feet make? Well, in the world of small, single engine center console fishing boats, it makes about a $155,000 difference. That's the difference in price between the Robalo and Everglades.
In fact, for the price of the Everglades, you can buy both the Robalo and the Cobia and still have $72,000 left over to put as a downpayment for the Reef Runner.
Let me know which you would pick and why.

70k for a bare bone 20' cc is mind blowing. Almost a quarter mill for a 24' is pure insanity.
In 2019 I bought a nuaticstar 22xs for 60k. The prices now are stupid. No way I pay 70k for a 20’ boat. Insane
With the prices of these boats, I would rather just charter. I could do a charter several times a year and not have to deal with the price and maintaining a boat. As always, love your unbiased reviews. You can charter and sell boats when you retire.
you could do a charter every month for years and years and years
Exactly what my dad did, he retired last year and sold his f250 and 25ft robalo. Mom and dad just rent a 17ft montauk twice a month
Here in the south Florida area a charter cost you $800 - $1200 plus tips for a day fishing.
I agree these boat prices are crazy high, but unless you are Ok with Party a fishing Charters, if you want to fish once a month you will spend easy 10k por year.
@@majavivo On my boat: 650 per 4 persons x once a month for a year= $7,800 x 10 years = 78k.....and zero hassles, get on get off, no trailering, no tow vehicle, no tackle, customizable, a fun relationship, no storage issues, no maintenance, no insurance, ---- let's even add more scum bag democrat biden type '''INFLATION'' over 10 yrs. lets say 98k? NOT MANY WILLY WEEKENDERS EVEN KEEP A BOAT FOR 10 YRS!
@@majavivo I have had a boat or boats all of my life. I was lucky to have a house on the water with 2 boat slips. Owning, maintaining, insurance, fuel, repairs, depreciation, licenses, tackle, electronics, Boat US, winterizing, sheesh. Did I love it? Yes but, as I got older it became too much for me. I started to do charters even when I had my boats and found that I caught more fish on them compared to on my own. Good Captains work together to help each other out. They do this for a living and they want to make sure you catch fish. Otherwise, you will not book a trip again.
Reef Runner looks like an amazing fishing fishing platform. But for 135k I'm not sure; I could go on well over 500 charter trips.
Love the reef runner
Reef runner is awesome, but didn’t like how the gas filler is directly in front of the TM batteries and within reach of the head area. Just seems like a confined area for venting
Would love to see you do a video of some lower end price boats. C-hawk ?? Sea-Hunt ? All the way up to North Coast cc series. 19 ft? And maybe throw in a Cape Horn 22. The smaller Duskys too. 17-217.
Sadly, most of those brands are not at these shows especially with smaller boats. I will have a more affordable vid coming soon.
From what I’ve seen watching boats and prices for the last 15 years, “New” and “Lower priced” will not be in the same sentence. Boat prices are and have been outrageous for quite a few years. I can’t understand where ALL these people work that are buying these boats.
REEF RUNNER WINS PER THIS VIDEO
and it's still too fancy for me!
The Cobia has a hard top, more power and is bigger so has a bigger gas tank than the Robalo ....... water's too cold for CC's in my neck of the woods unfortunately .
Everglades is a very different class of boat. There will always be the person who wants the best and is willing to pay, although the joystick on a single is questionable. The big loser here is the Robalo. Smallest boat,150hp,no electronics and a canvas top for 70k. Cobia and Reef Runner are fair for today's market. I enjoy the videos Capt.
Anyone buying that Everglades at that price should be drug tested lol. Great video as always.
Getting close to my size, keep em coming. I’m seeing to much luxury amenities making all the boats too expensive. When I’m on my boat I’m fishing nonstop, all my cushions and Bimini top except for the helm have never been used. I keep it spotless, can you imagine what it takes to clean all that pretty stuff, no thanks. Another good job John. Thanks.
How was the sound on this one?
@@jiggingjerks much better. Thanks
Thank you for posting this video. I looked seriously at a 22' Blackjack Bay Boat last Summer. Totally rigged with trolling motor, 250 Yahama, Electronics and ready to fish I was looking at over $100,000. I decided to pass. Boat prices are totally insane! Most of us would have to make payments to purchase and then have to pay insurance to protect against loss/damage. Then don't forget the tax man before you even think about the cost of the gas, ice, bait, etc of actual fishing trips. I hope the boating industry is and remains healthy but I have a hard time believing that the percentages of people that can/will afford boats is actually growing.
These prices would make ownership for most working class people very difficult -if you try financing most of it.Would be interesting to see what the payments would be with like 20% down-just for laughs. We all know some can handle it but probably more couldn’t-or wouldn’t want to.Shelling out $500~~$1000 bucks a month for a little center console would be painful.Especially if your up here in the NE and it’s shrink wrapped for 4 months of the year in your driveway.
@@johnm5714 Interest rates were 5.9% on a 15 year loan with 20% down last year. Unless the boat manufacturer or dealer has secured lower interest rates I would suspect that interest rates are even higher this year.
Reef runner was nicest for fishing.
Not a fan of the forward seating
Everglades makes a beautiful boat but 225k for a 23. No thanks. One interesting thing about that seat in that boat the handle you pointed out for adjusting the seat actually rotates the whole thing around so you can sit facing aft.
Yes…..someone else pointed that out. I wish I knew that!
John, have you ever watched the videos about how Everglades boats are constructed? Absolutely amazing boats.
I owned a 290 Pilot for a few years. Hands down best riding boat I’ve ever owned including my Sea Vee
@@jiggingjerks the structure is absolutely amazing. They are definitely pricey boats. But so well-made.
@@jiggingjerks John, funny story. I was at the Atlantic City and water boat show, and when I walked up to the Everglades boats, the lady there asked me what my price range was, and when I told her, she giggled and walked away from me. Lol.
@@BStavFishing hahahahaha that’s so cold Bob!!!
@@jiggingjerks right? Hahaha. I put my head down in shame and walked away. 🤣
Of course I was in Miami that week and left on Friday 😡
Hey John, definitely the cobia love your videos. I have one question if you had to give one advice to someone that never had a boat growing up but loves fishing and wants to get a center consul. What would that advice be for a first time boat buyer thanks…
Personally, the way I started was with smaller boats. My first three boats were 21 feet or under, and I learned slowly before moving up to a 23 and then a 29. That’s just my experience. I’m sure there are others out there whose first boat was a 35 with trips but I think getting the basics down first is critical. A small boat is much easier to maneuver and you will get comfortable faster.
Smaller boat is a good start. Practice until you learn how it maneuvers and how wind and tide affect it. Learn how to use your electronics and definitely get your local paper charts and learn them as well. Pick the right days to go boating and have fun.
@@josephpolestino7865 thank you
On a small boat, make sure you have good bilge access. Nothing like pulling a 6 inch pump though an 8 inch hole everytime you need a repair, or cleaning. Wish I paid more attention to that when I bought my first one
Definitely buy used! Start out smaller, less investment etc until experience shows you the features and such that are important to you. Then upgrade accordingly. I started out 5 years ago with a 14' aluminum Jon boat and I'm up to a 21' walk around....with a 17 footer in between 😄
Are you going to be at the Ward Melville Expo?
I’m leaving Florida and driving him home in a couple of hours. Goal is to stop at the Ac Boat Show tomorrow am. I don’t think I can get to WM in time
Wow reef runner pricing has shot up. It’s become too popular now lol
Yet more overpriced boats! Even that Robalo should be priced way lower for what you get IMO. Thanks again for showing us around John & hope that you are doing well.
Will you be at Ward Melville fishing show ?
I’m driving back from Florida. If I get there in time, yes
James or John, When is the WM show this year?
@@donwinges7464 this coming Saturday, March 4th in East Sautucket, LI
@@jiggingjerks Thanks John. It’s only 10 minutes from my house. Would have sucked if I missed it.
What about the Yamaha FSH series?
I did crawl over the 25 at this show. I may include it in a future video. Still priced under 100,000 but it had jumped up about $12,000 from last year. My one quibble with that boat is because of the twin jet engines, you really can’t leave it in the water like many of us in the northeast do for the boating season
@@jiggingjerks Very true, would need to trailer or use on lift, but it is very trailerable.
Wellcraft not at the show?
The show was huge. I had a few people request sportsman and it took me forever just to find their display. They may have been there, but I probably ran out of time.
my God what a bunch of clones looking boats
you want to see real fishing boats you do to the Seattle boat show like Alfred does.
those things are so shiny and white I'd have to get darker sunglasses just to fish on one. what people don't realize you can buy used boat and fix it up slowly a lot less
lol!!!!!!! so my buddy bought his 290 everglades twin 300s in 2019 it was a year old with 320 hrs. for 178k and they want 174k for the 23?!!!!!!!! they are off their rocker!
I’m presuming it was an older model re-powered right? I used to own a 290 myself. It was the absolute best riding boat I ever owned.
Rabalo 50k Cobia 60k reef 90 k everglades 150k
ROFLMFAO, $90K for a Cobia? I just bought a composite 2000 Cobia 224 w/400hrs on a 200 yammy Sws2, the boats a total wreck, ive got to polish it and ive got to change out the thru hulls, I shouldve gone for the extra $81k ,,, NOT!
2:00 I can't stand those type of people. You know, the one's that just park it on a show boat and kinda make it their own little personal space.
First! lmao
A dubious honor :)
