Thanks for the memories, my boys grew up in Freeport just off Black Creek, had a wonderful childhood in this community of hard working, generous and fearless "river people". Alaqua just off 20 was another adventure, appreciate you sharing.

when you said flood in 1994 i just assumed ga. we had a flood here it wrecked the city macon and done heaps of damage some hurricane (forgot which one) dumped 13 inches of rain on us in something like 9 hours edit: bibb county (city of macon particularly the water treatment plant flooded all the the pumps went down and were caked with mud several hundred thousand people were without water for about 3 months the local miller brewing company started bottling water and giving it out to the people

That cabin was used to hang weed up to dry. Did you see the row of nails on beams.
