Good song. Another favourite northern soul song of mine is Frankie Valli and "You're Ready Now". And, for your "Which one is best", song..You Can't Hurry Love,by, The Supremes, Phil Collins, and TNT Boys !

Quite entertaining, it's great when you can get time to play in the snow.
We only get a maximum of around half a metre thick snow up in the mountains of Victoria.
Then you have to pick carefully the weekend you go up to make sure there is some there!
Interesting horn playing. Liked C & C's trying to guess which horn sound was which, funny!
If you would like to hear great horn work, don't forget to listen to more Hunters & Collectors.
I recommend the great songs, "Wishing Well" and "Under the Sun".

Thank you for doing this suggestion it's always really appreciated. This was a big Northern Soul track, there is a stereo version out there, which was a later re-recording, it was so popular that a British band, "Wigan's Ovation" covered it as an homage.

The last time i was in snow about 30 years ago it was also the first time I'd seen snow falling. Staying at a friend's house i told them if it snows during the night wake me up. They did wake me up a few hours later heath it's snowing outside!. Me and Paul ran outside excited as hell throwing snow at each other and then the cold hit us outside in bearfeet and long John's the excitement ended pretty quickly 🥶🥶🥶 . The next night we went mountain biking in the forest with snow falling it looked awesome in the spot lights

I just looked it up and there are skiing resorts in Australia that use snow makers.

We have the Snowy Mountains in Oz. Yes, they do have snow makers, but they do get lots of natural snow. I read they get more than Switzerland!! I wouldnt know though, because i dont like the cold!!

The other popularised Northern song about the same time was 'Footsie' from Wigan's Chosen Few' also a cover of a track by the Canadian band The Chosen Few. I've lived in Wigan most of my 64 years but I didn't particularly like Northern Soul when it was popular and I'm not over keen now. I never went to the Casino before it mysteriously burned down to make way for a new council building

I did some work for these guys when they were masquerading as The Drifters around 66 or 67. They were professionals that were hoodwinked into a scam organised by Roy Tempest. Tempest ripped them off, ripped me off, ripped the public off.. But working for the man as briefly as I did taught me some very valuable lessons.
I had to look it up, but according to Google, Australia has roughly 14 skiing resorts which are mostly situated in New South Wales, Victoria and Tasmania. I have been to resorts of each state, and I don't think there's any man-made snow. There seems to be conflicting information about there being more snow in Australian than Switzerland with one source I found denying the claim with evidence. I'll give the prize to Switzerland for having more snow.

I’m a big Northern Soul fan, but this song has always bugged me. The Wigan’s Ovation version is terrible and frankly this is not great…just the song I guess. Popular track though, so I’m in the minority in not liking it 😅
I’ve been touting for the Otis Clay track “Baby Jane” for quite a while…now - this is soul music. I even suggested to try this up against the Dr Feelgood version - very different but a great take on the song.

I’m afraid I cannot stand the ‘sound’ of Northern Soul , good luck to its devotees but not for me .. 😮
