i heard that after a head injury, even another not as hard hit to the head the same day right after the first could make it way worse. Good call ending the run
CTE is very very real. Unless Red Bull implements a concussion protocol then these athletes have will have legitimate legal cases later in life. These athletes are young and think they are invincible I hope they do not end up with serious neurological issues later in life, but I fear a large percentage of them will.
He might refer to Dave Mirra here. Dave, who inspired many of these riders, committed a suicide after suffering from issues resulting from many years of getting beat by this sport, I believe it was related with recurring concussions. I believe though, that technology has improved quite a lot since then and better measures are taken to prevent major injuries, including long sustaining ones that impacted Dave. The bread doesn't come easy for these guys. It's hard work and you put your life on the line each time. The pressure to deliver, especially with massive sponsors like Red Bull makes things even harder. I think every sponsored athlete should sort of quit the pressure once they made enough to sustain for a lifetime. I think Brandon realized this and that's why he made his video production brand and puts his focus onto that.
