Synopsis:
Star-chaser Liang Weiwei (Wang Luqing) accidentally entered the costume idol drama which starring by Jing Qing (Cheng Lei) and became the queen who was set to die in the third episode. In order to get rid of the "setting", Liang Weiwei used the advantage of being drama fans, skillfully use the plot mechanism to get rid of fate, and start a fantasy sweet love story with the emperor played by Jing Qing.

The costumes of the whole cast are beautiful. Especially of the royal family
This is a very unique production, cleverly mixing reality with fantasy, and allowing the fantasy part to play a conscious role in the narrative of the drama, at least by one person.
Naaah its a very basic drama and not a well plaued or written one

I always wonder why so many contemporary Chinese costumed TV drama attracted so many international fans--i think they do a fairly good job in delivering the dramatic tension via the character's performance and storyline design without relying that much on the character's dialogue. So that you can enjoy the other aspects of the TV drama and guess what is happening there based on screen images without recourse to the Chinese language. Sorry I am thinking a lot about this international fandom but could not figure out why as I am a mandarin speaker.
As for me, i love the costumes and as an escape from reality. Since they always use unreal plots and characters, but most especially the costumes. I don't like modern drama that much

I'm having a hard time with this one. I loved how funny the characters were and I loved the setting, the costumes, and the mix of reality vs fantasy, but I'm having a hard time getting sucked into it. Somethings missing for me.
For me so far, I think it's because of the choppy editing and flow. It's hard to follow along.
