I have five eagles that were displayed in a black cardboard holder. One day I saw two had toning on the Eagles wings. One wing purple, one wing a beautiful blue. Just this weekend I happened to look at them for the first time in a year. One turned a steel looking color. One had a dirty grey with tiny areas of golden rust, tinges of blue, and every one was downright ugly even the ones with blues, purple hues. They all turned an ugly blackish color with purples and blues still there. I'm not sure what the heck the cardboard did. The cut out holes have plain cardboard scallops that touched the coins, the top & bottom thin paper covering is black and the hole on top exposed the coin's fully to air, and the bottom small hole exposed them to air. Anyone know if this is paper damage toning or air exposure type toning.
The only problem that i see is not even toning , try to use liver of sulfur to darken it , then polish it , then try the eggs . Tomorrow I will post a video of my toning techniques , and end results , I swear they look extremely vintage .
I am not yet interested in toned Coins. I like pristine, shiny silver. Many others do like toned coins. Lakehousebeach has videos on toning. You can buy a box of sulphur cheap. 👍
Wow. Looks great. But I would never do that. I got alot of money in my toned coins. People will like it but still fake. Bu you'd channel will do fine.. take care and be safe.
Love toning done the right way, I have tons of BU 60's Kennedy,50's Benjies , so I used the liver of sulfur came out good looking , then I use a dremel tool with buffing pad , and boat compound to high light high spots on coins , then finish with Renaissance micro- Crystalline wax polish they came out sexy , love the toning , and luster . Ok now I want dark rainbow toning , so I am using crushed hard boiled eggs in a sealed container , left my dark toning coins overnight , we will see in the am . This has been trial and error , but you don't waste the coins , if you don't like the finish, you can do them again . I usually sell them on CL for $70 a piece .
You should just boil an egg and break it up finely and put it in tupperware with the coin it works better and you get blues, oranges, violet, green, purple etc.
Doing that to bullion coins is fine...... But for the love of God don't do that to a old coin. That will most certainly get body bagged by any Coin grading company. For artificial toning.
Where is your logic coming from? You don’t like them then don’t tone them or buy them toned. I personally like untoned and rainbow toned coins. And will be toning some of mine as well!! 😁
Natural toning on coin if it has that beautiful rainbow color adds value big time. But artificial toning always lower the value. To many people try to sale those fake toners as natural toning and they should be put in jail, it's worse then cleaning a coin...

Chemically altering American Eagles can turn good coins into scrap metal. Natural toning can increase the value.
New subscriber here. That turned out really cool 👍 Thanks for sharing.

Wow the ASE looks amazing!
Good lookin' ASE.
Boil a egg, smash it up in a airtight container with the coin standing up. Works like it naturally toned.
Joshua and Paige hello how long does that usually take?
@@daniels8105 about twenty minutes
Why not find real ones.
i can do it!

the silver eagle is ugly, and everyone in the industry knows it's ugly and fake toned.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. No one cares about your coin elitism, guy.

When you artificially tone a coin you should be put in jail, sham sham on you...
