^This group deserved to be brought on the Opry as members - this is the kind of entertainment that is missing down there. Wonderful stuff! The real thing!
This is one heck of a posting .. hot damn !!Man .. these guys are a scream. They are a unique outfit and they push the enjoyment level to new heights & boundaries. Brings memories to the fore of the best of the Grand Ole Opry traditions from the past.
T.MJ.B. is great, I have only recently discovered them and was very sad to hear Lester had passed away. The band still sounds great but Lester added a unique sound to it when he got doing his singing...
This brings tears to my eyes for reasons on all sorts of levels... Im 25 and love good ol' music which there is a major lack of, and i wish i could be at the grand ole oprey for every show.I wasn't around for all the good ones! Im gonna be making the 4 hour drive lot more often especially if the jug band will be there!
Thanks Chris! I wish we were on the Opry a lot more too. We'll be at Puckett's Grocery in downtown Nashville (one block from the Ryman!) July 14th. Maybe that would be a good time for a 4 hour drive.
Boy ain't that the truth! If it wasn't for the older acts I wouldn't pay any attention to the Opry. The new acts do nothing for me. I love to see Mike Snider on there too.
Everyone, ought to drop a line, to Pete Fisher, the GM, of the Opry, in requesting these guys, to be regular members, on the Opry. The Opry, is doing away with this kind of Country Music, that started it. They want to be with the "in crowd". Know what I mean ?

I Sure do miss your Pop Mike, he reminded me so much of my own Dad. RIP Lonesome Lester, we'll all be together in Glory VERY soon.

Too cool. Leroy Troy and the Jug Band are too cool and so crazy! I agree with Opryman65 also, they should be members. Great stuff. I miss TNN as well!
Marty is having so much fun.
Thanks for posting! Great music!
The song Charming Betsy
Kayton Roberts is playing steel guitar. He played over 30 years with Hank Snow.
Buy! Lester could sing those high notes.
