Thank you very much my friend. I am quite lucky to have a job where I use knives a lot. Maybe not for their intended purpose but they do ge used quite hard and sometimes fail. @@KuukkeliBushcraft It's ordered now. I'm sure I'll be satisfied. You haven't given us bad advice so far and the Tri Ad lock is a good selling point. Only not having any steel liners leave some doubt.
All or most all of their cheaper steel(their german 4116) models come from china, the good steels are all usa based stuff but just too expensive(shame cause Im a huge fan of this brand). With some modding you can fix that triad lock mate if you find it too stiff(and they are), I watched johnnys video and modded a few of mine...and hey if I can do it anyone can lol. Makes it so much easier to deploy. Their 4116 steel is no joke man, I have put all mine with that steel through some serious abuse and never once had an issue yet. I do wish the plasticy handles(while fine) were g10 or rubber. Not a big deal for me either on the clip, wish it was more of a deep carry though. This is one I have been holding off on buying for ages now, finally a review I can trust so thank you for that mate!!!!! This brand will really grow on you the more you use their stuff!!! At least that's how it was for me anyhow. Goodness this is the exact color in my amazon cart, 31 dollars currently for me!!! and have seen it go to 27 sometimes.
@@WaltRevenJr The thing is I can get Moras for 6 dollars from the hardware store that I usually visit a couple of times a week. Also cold steel are more expensive over here. Still nearly bought one a finn hawk. Also thought of getting a finn bear because I know somwhere that sells a copy of the Tapio Wirkkala sheath. Would be kind of cool to have a Finn bear in a copy of the sheath that the knife was copied from.
I read somwhere that this AUS 8 was from Japan. The lock doesn't seem too stiff to me. OK I have just got it out of my pocket. It does feel a little stiff to be honest. Definitely not stiff enough to bother me. Does seem a very decent little knife though and it's red (the colour of Liverpool fc ⚽⚽) which is a bonus. Thanks for watching Walt.

Bought one used but looked new in orange had to sharpen the spine but other than that i just love it have wished some one would make a folding scandi grind blade a long time and here it is ,i actually use this in the bush way more than my fixed blade tbh for things like scraping fat wood ,fuzz sticks etc i want to make a neck sheath with a ferro rod combined on it for this blade as well over all i really like them ,but i would like to see cold steel offer it in carbon steel as well id be sure to buy one or several , great review at least you actually used it for what it was meant for lol some reviews i see and they never even use the knife .
Thanks mate, really good to have a scandi folder. Not everyone wants to carry a fixed blade every day and this does everything you need it to .Combined with an axe you don't really need another cutting tool. Also pretty good value for money. All in all a very practical knife (except for the silly thumb stud).

We have lots of bugs in the forest here, but the first frosts normally kill them (in round about August which is more or less when I filmed this). I did do a video on using Avon skin so soft as a bug repellant, plenty of bugs on that one, thankfully 😂. Thanks for watching.
I have one of these they are pretty good, you can take the thumb studs off when you want to sharpen or strop it, they come off pretty easily. Edit: I just heard you mention the screw nevermind, thought i'd help you out but you already know. Cya.
You get used to them, no choice really. The reindeer are smart they head up to the fells where the wind keeps them away. I don't really have the option to hang around on top of a hill all day. Thanks for watching Dom.
Yes I took mine off too eventually. Really quite nice to have a scandi folder. The thumb studs really do get in the way of sharpening far too much though.
