I have a 2018 trek roscoe 8 that's very upgraded and I can tell you for sure these roscoe bikes don't deserve the hate they get sometimes. They're very capable bikes
Got my roscoe in June just took it to a lift service mt with my grandson bike rode awsome at 60 years old he thinks Iam crazy especially when he wasn’t waiting at the bottom for the old guy lol
I have a special hatred for pedal strikes. The high bottom bracket on the Roscoe is one of my favorite things about my Roscoe 9. New geometry with old school high pedals
The Fox Rampage helmet is more of a downhill/ freeride helmet, not much in the way of ventilation, but excellent for those massive hits. If you can get your hands on a Fox Proframe, give that a go. It’s more an enduro / trail helmet and allows a lot more ventilation in, much better for those longer rides.
I'm trying to get my brother riding. I ride a full suspension. He wants a hardtail but I'm trying to convince him to go full suspension but this video helps me realize he can get it done just as well on hardtail
If you get bored, try a Troy Lee Stage full face. It breathes almost as good as a open face helmet. I hardly use my open face anymore because it's so comfy and saves face literally lol
Right on. I'll be interested to see what brake upgrades you look at. My last bike was rim brake, so these were a huge improvement over that. Nice video
Matty! At the risk of sounding like a smartass, you know you can always let air OUT of the tires without a pump...just saying! I'm curious if you forgot how much time you need to spend on your feet on the hardtail, can't sit through those bumps anymore! I love it!
I have the rampage and I’m not going to lie I hate it. It’s like a backup now in case i dome out my other. Pay for the high end ones, it’s so much better it’s not funny, I have a Troy lee stage now and I don’t even take it off for climbs on most hot days, it feels airy and like nothing and is 100% better with cooling while wearing goggles.
I bought the Trek Roscoe 7 yesterday Matty :)
Tire inches 2.6 right??

Looking like I know what I’m doing is always the start of me getting into trouble!

Nice to see you on a Roscoe again.
Matty, I might see you around the trails soon! I just got my Roscoe 7 and plan on doing quite a bit of trials (hopefully)
I'm getting used to a full face too. I dig the color of yours! Great video!

It’s definitely capable but you feel every little bump!
@@MattyActive run tyres at 18psi you have a full suspension 😆 it’s class !

HA! I ran into this same guy and thought “I’d bet Matty would get a kick out of his bike.”
Haha this guy is everywhere!
Plus bikes can really make use of those brakes, my stache was terrible before a good break bleed. After that it was amazing how much better they were.

Riding a 5 mile single track race today on my R7
My g threw that dub up on instinct 😂😂😂
I have the Roscoe 8 love it !!!
You bough the roscoe 7 right when the 2022 one came out and finally put a thru axel in the rear
I was checking around and they said it would be at least next summer until I could get the 2022
And trek just released the 2022 Roscoes
Nice trail. It would be perfect for my marlin 8
Had a Roscoe 7 on order. It kept getting back ordered so I pulled the trigger on a Polygon Siskiu D7.
Great choice for sure!
That's my dude Patrick on the sick ass Marlin
Small world!
People pay money for that idea now and call it down country
@Dylan he probably wanted a more aggressive bike but can’t afford it so better tires helps
i think since you just got the bike u have to break in the brakes. It took me a while for my brakes to break in.
Nice helmet but it's definitely pink well at least it's not purple 😁
You should look into getting an angled headset. You can get the front end a degree or 2 slacker just by changing the headset.
Definitely gonna look into that. Thanks!
@@MattyActive I’d be curious about this too. If he feels a big difference or not
Great video wish I could ride trails like that too old and crippled
Dang I remember when you only had a couple hundred subscribers
Looks like fun
Have you seen the new 2022 Roscoe 9? Looks sick.
Yea they do for sure!
Brakes are fine just fix up your cockpit so you can get control of the brakes.

Lol no worries. yea I was thinking that but I’m used to knowing the exact number now so I wanted it more for the gauge
What psi are you normally riding on? Are you setup tubeless yet? Just got a Roscoe and trying to dial the tire pressure in.
@@MattyActive if you need it stop and get the air out of that tyres 😃
If you’re considering getting new brakes maybe look into a bigger disc
You must be on vacation. You're posting everyday!
Haha I wish! Just trying to give you guys more content and I’m loving the Roscoe 😅
Good review. I ordered a roscoe 7 the other day. Hey, what kind of brakes did yours come with? Radius? Shimano? Tektro?
Shimano

Thanks I really appreciate it!

Is this the new Roscoe frame?
No it’s not
@@MattyActive Thanks for replying to my comment. Have a great day!
Hey matty, I got a 2022 roscoe 6 to go with my fuel ex. What fork do you have on yours?
Nice! I have a rockshox Judy on mine
@@MattyActive cool, that’s what I put on my marlin when I had it, gotta do something because the stock fork on the roscoe 6 is the weakest link imo
What GoPro do you use?
GoPro hero 8
What size tire did the trek marlin have on the back?
29 in 2.2 width
I was not watching you from 2 months because I think u changed the channel name 😅 and buy some metallic brake pads to solve the brakes problem
Oh dang I’m glad you found me again!
@@MattyActive love ur vids why wouldn't I subscriber since u had 100 subs
You think just replacing the pads is enough? I was thinking some upgraded calipers (like 2 to a 4)
So it’s salmon colored
Lol that’s the word I was looking for
Good thing he didn't have those gummies, its hard to ride tech when t.h.c. kiks in....lol
🤣
