Exploring the CLOSED Colonial Cayo Coco

Exploring the CLOSED Colonial Cayo Coco, they are currently undergoing renovations and I cannot find a scheduled reopening date.
Was fun to wander through until the nice man carrying a huge machete suggested that it would be wise for me to leave!

It is so sad to see the great Colonial in this condition. It was a shock to realize that the Hemingway beach bar was completely gone. I hope the message I saw a short while ago was correct about it re-opening January 2025. Can't wait to go back.

Wow this is so sad. Is that all hurricane damage? It was beautiful 10 years ago…😢

It is so sad watching this. My first time there was in 1993 when it was still called "Hotel Guitard" . It was only open for 6 months that November and I was lucky to experience the official opening by Fidel Castro in person. There were many other trips following in spite of the long way from Germany.
