For anyone asking about Henderson, it’s what he does behind the scenes which is why he will always be considered. He’s apparently very good at disciplining any players not putting a shift in during training and is a great motivator for the young players. I’m not a fan of his, and don’t understand his move away from the PL, but fully understand that there’s more to the game when playing away from home than just performances on the pitch.

Yes, Hendo for all his limitations and despite his age/legs going still has grit and fire and hunger to win. He hates losing and he'll get headloss over mistakes. He's also a workhorse and an old-school player who can still run, a type in short supply these days. He's not world-class and he is on his last legs, but why not use what's left in his tank to benefit the younger players and instil ethic in them?

Every time we lose to the big nations it’s because we lose the midfield battle. Having hendo in the squad limits us having someone who can actually help us in these games. Look, his style of play and selection may not be what everyone wanted but I think everyone should let him have his last tournament and show him a bit of respect. He took over a team losing to Iceland to a world cup semi final in his first tournament with players like Phil jones on the bench. England were in bits after euro 2016 and he pulled them back to two consecutive post semi final finishes.
All this while only having a few years of managerial experience at Middlesborough and such.
Yes he may not have an exciting style of play and backs players unnecessarily, but he's been the best manager England have ever had.

The Premier League concludes on 19 May, and England’s training squad will be announced two days later, likely to comprise of 26 players or more as Gareth Southgate considers his final choices.
England play their first of two warm-up games before the Euros against Bosnia on Monday 3 June. That is only two days after the Champions League final, meaning Manchester City or Arsenal players who make the final will likely be given a period of rest before joining up with the camp.
The final 23-man squad will be named on Saturday 8 June

I think his dealing with White refusing the call up is a bit weak. How are you supposed to draw passion from the players with a "doors allways open" policy. I guess you either have it or you don't. But playing for your country should be and is, the ultimate honour as an elite athlete.

Why are people so salty about Henderson being included in the team. He's a quality player.
He’s not playing at the level of competition expected of the England first team. He’s too old. He’s not been in particularly good form; his win percentage since leaving LFC is 27%. There’s at least 5 other better options for the position he plays. I’m a LFC supporter and truly love JH, but cleary he’s not the player he was 4-5 years ago; he wouldn’t get into the current starting XI for any of the EPL teams the other players have been selected from.
