I worked 18 years for USPS before retiring. (I bought my military service time to add 4 years so I retired with 22 years service). I worked 6 days a week fo 10 years. The last 8 years, I was fulltime, so I got 2 days off a week. The work was very physical. Very stressful. For 18 years I hated Christmas. I did enjoy the customers, the pay and benefits were great. I am now enjoying retirement.
Happy retirement!
You have such a great mood. You’re a nice person. Everything in our life is a routine. That’s why we have 7 days in the week, but it’s the same
Right!
I know usps workers make $21+, many people that work jobs that are just as laborious as this are told they dont deserve to make more than $10. To be on your feet serving people or stocking shit for 9-14 hours, you deserve some money. Honestly it's like a trap. Poor people are working the hardest physically yet lots of us can never really save money because it's so expensive to live
Hi Jayla 👋 thanks for sharing your thoughts
People who say that have NEVER worked for the Post Office. They often work their asses off and have to put up with some very obnoxious supervisors who can make your life a living hell. Imo they didn’t pay us enough money for what I and other people had to go through. My cousin worked for the railroad, made a better salary, and didn’t have to be exposed to the type of harassment that postal workers often go through. Where do you think the term “going postal” came from? It was from people who couldn’t take the harassment anymore and just snapped.
@@MsAppassionata agree I love every cultural group but all the supervisers are African American then you gave the workers who are Bengali or Nepalese when I started this job I thought I was in a foreign country . Those accent is so thick you can’t understand what they say , I applauded them because they are looking for a better life . But those arrogance is undesirable and if you try to be cordial as an employee they blow you off . Very Discusting . Then you have black Americans all supervisers who by the way will talk down to the foreigners or Latinos I have witness it and cause me to just record and file complaints to upper management . People look so dead in that plant , no joy no working as a team . How low usps has come .
I worked there for nearly 5 years as a carrier. All the things that you say about working on the plant can pretty much translate to what I went through. It was good at first but then it just turned into a soul-sucking job that I just wanted to find a way to get out of. I think this kind of work is only made for a certain type of person. I'm in my middle twenties now and it still did a number on my body especially my posture.
Facts..it really takes a toll on our body working at the USPS plant..supervisors making us do alot of work, with not much help sometimes..feet hurt and whole body aches..I started working there when I was 25, turning 26..im 30 now, and this job has sucked alot out of me since😬😓😅
Bless you dear! I work for a company that gets in mail everyday and we open and count the pieces for each account we have. Im the mailroom supervisor and im already doing 3 and 4 different jobs daily. Same process daily. I understand. My pay is terrible for the 17 years ive been there. You do feel "dead" inside. Was looking into working at the post office but...nah. Please continue to care for yourself.
Thanks 😊
Just the 3 minutes of you talking about how your body aches and everything hurts . I don't want to work there any more. Thank you , that made me shut your video off . But then I came back just to watch the whole thread and give you a thumbs up girl.👍🏾
I had to speed up her talking to 4x!! She talks so damn sllllooowww
@@sashasims5692 Because it's not her fucking mother tongue! How many languages do you speak!
Body aches mean lose weight
Being strong the older you get is actually better for your health
The money is nice. I love USPS ❤️. I really do. I try to eat healthy, I juice, and drink plenty water 💧 💧 💧. It's a mindset. Stay focus and know the reasons you're working. Have a plan and stay focus. I work two years and almost finished building a five bedroom home in ........... have an aim. Stay focused 💯.
Wow congratulations!
Keep grinding girl✊🏾
werk werk werk hahaha
Appreciate your insight on this job thanks so much
Great Chanel !and I love your motivation we all have something we like doing outside of work , I hope you get your masters soon !
Thanks so much!
Day 2 was NO JOKE! My feet are scared to go in today 😂
Sorry to hear that. Take pain meds and apply salve
I just got accepted to apply for Mail, Hanler assistant, and to be honest being able to remember 2000 addresses and work that it entitles. I don’t know if I’m able to do it to be honest with you especially that I have ADHD I’m all over the place. even though it’s good benefits and everything for my family I don’t know. I don’t wanna leave my job and go there and not be successful even if I’m trying my hardest.
But i turn it down because i heard you have to remember 2k addresses, so im going for pse instead
Maintenance is the best craft.i was a mh for 22 years. Transfer to Maintenance as custodian for 5 month past test and now Maintenance Mechanic. Look in to it.Good luck
Great 👍
I really appreciate this so much! Thank you! Enjoy ur days off. :) Your videos are of great help.
Thank you! You too!
You can't be creative? Well it depends on the kind of job you do at the plant. I have a friend who has worked for a USPS distribution plant for more than 30 years first as a maintenance mechanic to where he worked with machines and robotics needed for sorting out the mails. His job also involved trouble shooting and this usually happens when a machine breaks down. This is basically where a lot of creativity is needed. After so many years of working as a mechanic, he decided to apply for electronic technician, and after so many years as an electronic technician, he's now a manager.
god bless you i feel so bad for how hard you have to work.. im going to pray for you
Thank you and God Bless
Thank you for sharing this.

You have an excellent attitude. My best to you.
Thank you. I wish you the best too.
Thanks for a good video. Very helpful.

My husband works as a MHA - his biggest complaint is the pain in his hands and swollen they feel- any recommendations for pain relief??
Dr. Bronner's Organic Magic Balm works for me.
i have my orientaitont for cca on monday march 25 they send me for short time i email them back to change the date for 2 more weeks to let my supervisor knows give me coupls hours start late
did they allow you to change the date of your orientation?
@@MarieAdventure yes and i waiting for other email after update its cool lol
More like they throw you into it with no break in period. They work you 10-12 hours without asking! They expect you not to eat but yet dock you at the same time, minimum 6 days a week! Yeah don’t complain about it either, two breaks which you probably won’t get, oh and if somebody else is slacking you will be the one suffering, no personal life is the truth, if you don’t have a family then that’s fine! And that’s the Carrier side but of course they don’t tell you any of this during interview or orientation! Honestly it doesn’t matter what position you are in the post office is brutal.
You got it.
Thank you for your services
Thank you too!
Thank you for sharing your experiences. I am currently waiting for my background check to come back so I can go to orientation. Looking forward to getting to work. Can you tell me what the name of that balm is... I feel I may need it. Thank you.
Congratulations Kathy! the balm is Arnica Menthol, they are on sale right now on Amazon, I bought two coz I used them everyday amzn.to/3Q7keFB
Hi Marie , I'm interested in applying for a job at USPS, can you guide me how?
watch my videos
Just a question? Are your supervisors understanding? Because you mentioned you're carrying the load of 4 workers. I hope their expectations are realistic. Do they spit in your face about certain situations? What if you get injured? Do you have any protection/insurance? But then again, it's only temporary so it's not forever. Get your money and get out right?
Mine weren’t, but I left there 7 years ago. I’ve heard it’s only gotten worse though.
I just found your video, was thinking of applying for a part time job there. Do they ever hire people who might have minimal disabilities? I just have an issue with my foot, but have a brace I use to help it. Should I not bring it up if I do apply/interview until I might get a job? Thank you for the informative video!
If you will work in the plant you will be on your feet for 10 hrs straight 6 days a week.
So how long did you last before you quit? I know you did. Everybody thinks working for the post office is a gravy job.
3 months. Then I re-applied.
What’s the top pay? And after how many years?
Do work hours change everyday? Or is it only night shifts? My bf applied for the Los Angeles location and just made an appt for the finger print.
How is your bf doing at USPS?
Hi Marie ...do you have any idea sa Form 50 about (appt expiration date) yun ba ang laslt day ng work? By the way i send you the screenshot sa Facebook mo. Thank you so much,..your video is really big help to us! More video please and God Bless
Marilou Cuyler ask your supervisor or call HR
can you make a living working as a pse processing clerk? if you live in california
Yes you can.
I have a question if I get a job at post office,it doesn’t mean I gotta stop sending letters to my pen pals right?
who are your penpals?
@@MarieAdventure I have a whole bunch of pen pals all over the world.
Hello ate good day, I just started and I worked for just a month and after that they did the background check and they find out that my requirements is not qualified due to number of years as a green card holder they terminated me 3 days ago… And Im so sad….My manager said I can go back after I comply the 1 year and 5 months to be a 5 year resident here in USA. It is possible to get back? Even the union they just give me a form as resignation and give back to them so that I can reapply if ever I want to… do I need to sign the resignation form as what the union said to me? Thank you.. I like to work as a pse mail processing clerk cuz i made good hours and 💴…..
Resign so you can go back again after your 5 years of green card residency. If you don't resign you will be blacklisted as AWOL.
@@MarieAdventure Thank you ate, I gave my resignation letter to the union and they are the one whoe send that letter but I gave to them late after the terminated took effect but she said she ginna try to send it… thank you ate…
I like your sweater. Where did you order it

Thanks for sharing I just started working for USPS and yes the hours are long I’m getting burned out I don’t know what the heck I signed up for
Just save money and find a new job.
what is the name of the pomade you use for soreness
Dr Bronner's Arnica Menthol Magic Balm
Hi again! How's safety during work? Are you all wearing mask in the plant?
Mask & gloves are mandatory 👌
@@MarieAdventure thanks! By the way, what's the difference between PSE Sales and Services Distribution Associate and Clerk Assistant? I'm about to accept an offer but just saw the PSE position. I want to be assigned in a store or window. Please help. I'm confused. Can I apply in both positions?
@@jazzieg8863 Sales people work at the store front or post office, clerk assistant works at the plant.
I take it you are still working there? Do you still like it? I started watching your vids because i am applying in washington state
I work as a seasonal worker. I'm not permanent so my employment is not certain.
thank you so much for this super helpful video, i have a question did you have to pay a 39$ fee to take the exam?
I took it last month and it was free
The 39$ is for a test study they prepare you for every step of getting “hire” “not the usps” alternate company ...
You don't have to pay for anything.
Apply directly at usps.com
Not through any 3rd party that charges a fee.
omg mine was $90 D:

Hi marie,do you unload trucks when you are mpa?i know mha does.thankyou.
MHA unload trucks
@@MarieAdventure tnk you for your answer btw you are the best 😉
Holidays must be the hardest days to work
Arrrrgh! Yup.
Hi Marie kumusta. I was about to apply but i heard the supervisors are vicious and rude? Not true right?
My supervisors varies, there's a cool one and the other is clueless.
They were mostly vicious where I worked. If you were part of their little clique you could get away with murder. If you weren’t (like me) you would get treated like 💩 no matter how hard you worked or how good a job you did. I’m glad I got out.
I got an offer letter as a Mail Handler assistant at a Plant. Some people say it’s very hard job.I am 48 years old.Do you think this job is good for me?How many people work together to unload a truck? Does they use any equipment to load and unload truck?Could you give me reply please!
There are ppl that age and older as a mha if you want something less strenuous apply for mail processing its allot less stress on the body and pays more!
@@CreoleBarbieUspsVlogs hello there! I also follow you and watch your videos! Stay safe!🙂🙂🙂
@@CreoleBarbieUspsVlogs Hi Barbie, thanks for your response. I'm watching your videos too :)
The job at a plant is normally strenuous. I have co-workers older than you. The best way to find out is to try it yourself, you can quit anytime, they are used to people quitting early because of the physical requirement. 1-2 people unload the truck at our branch, not sure how many in other. They use an electric pallet jack. Hope that helps.
They gave you, your sweatshirt
No i bought it
OMG THE BEGINING !!!! lol
the beginning of what LOL
can I apply this job without experienced?
Yes. You do not need an experience working the postal office. They will take anyone willing to do a labor job.
@@MarieAdventure thank you 😊
So they don't offer part time at all?
Not really lol. They tell you it’s part-time but you end up working like 80 hours in one week. Take that as you will.
@@Sayyestothemess-s6i did you ever get your job back?
You never got pat #1.

The way I see life is... it is not ours. Our time is borrowed here on earth. Our job, our money, we cannot take them to the grave. I'm here to experience life and learn and if we could, be the light to someone's darkness. That is what life is about. The proof is, just look at the man on the cross (Jesus). He left this world nailed on the cross.

The hours she is talking about are for PSEs which are the entry level people. When you become a regular clerk you work 8 hours a day unless you volunteer to work more. PSEs are automatically converted to a regular clerk after 2 years of service. If you stay long enough to get converted the pay and benefits are excellent. I currently work in one of the plants and I make almost $65,000 a year. It’s not the easiest job in the world but it’s worth it.
If they put a job on indeed do you still have to make a profile 👀🤔 to finish the application???
I quit 4 months ago after being a Carrier for 15 months. I was doing nearly 90 hours every week. I was filing grievances almost every other week. I did my 8 hr rout in 6 hrs plus 2-3 hrs of overtime and even that didn’t satisfy them. I worked at 11 different stations during my CCA period. The Union was just hopeless imo. Mandate me on my day offs. Got to a point where i was getting only 1 or 2 day off for the entire month. I asked my boss if i could not get mandated on my day off for few weeks and the reply i got was go get a work hr restrictions from a doctor. That’s where i drew my line and said fk it i quit
Sorry it happened to you. It happens to all of us seasonal. Can I make a video regarding your experience?
@@MarieAdventure yeah go for it
How hard is it to get fired?
Why would you do your 8 hour rout under time? That was your primary mistake.
Thank you so much for sharing your experience. I just resigned from my job in insurance because desk work and being on the phone is not for me. I previously worked for Target in the wearhouse and it wasn't too bad for my department. I feel I'm chasing money when I should get a job/career that gives me meaning in the sense where I feel I made a change. Part of the reason I left Target was that I had lazy co-workers but I did enjoy the work. I'm still on call but might go back if not I'll look for a job that gives me more meaning. I really appreciate your advice🤗
Follow your bliss 😊
Research shows, the more an employer creates a hostile atmosphere. (16 hour days to show your dedication to the company) The fewer employees feel needed. It will burn people out fast. This is why there is a standard cap on hours. It is so the employee does not feel used and abused and actually gets up in the morning wanting to go back to work.
Chuey Art I hear you but that’s the norm at usps.
@@MarieAdventure Omg! I thought it was bad when I worked there. I was forced to retire 7 years ago because of a disability after working for USPS for almost 35 years. The most I ever had to work was 10 hours a day, 6 days a week but for most of my career it was 8 hours a day, 5 days a week. You do have one thing going for you that I didn’t have though. You have a decent boss who treats you with respect. I had the opposite most of the time and a bad boss who is constantly harassing you can make your life a living hell, trust me. My advice to you is get your degree and use it to find a decent job elsewhere because the P.O. is going rapidly downhill. You may be able to keep up your current pace now but as you get older it will become increasingly difficult. Take it from one who knows.
@@MsAppassionata thank you you are 100 right I’m in the thick of it the machines at this plant look like they are from the 1800 s they so t get rid of them cause it would cost to much to replace and they keep old seniors who know how to repair them I know I’m living g proof of witnessing this the building is super unclean bathrooms make you want to gag and the lunch room is so gross don’t know how people can eat the food

Awesome! Thank you!
You lost weight! I can tell.
Yes it's not easy to work at USPS
Specifically when your management is rude after working all those extra hours they blame you for coming late
ouch!
It sounds like the post office needs to be at least paying 20 to $25 an hour minimum for what they're asking I think that's probably why they're short-handed
You are correct.
They now pay 21 dollars entry level pay
@@VibesWithKay24 no they don't. I work for the post office and I don't make that much.
@@ArgyleDinosaur really? Mine says 21$ average. Lame :(
@@Dj-fb8bs I make $18.69 or something like that as a PSE.

Diana Perez iha, ano position tinangap mo?
That MHA job, you don’t have energy to drink water!
Are you working as MHA?
Especially if you're dispatching and bringing in mail to be sorted.
Have you made regular yet? My wife started as a casual at a parcel processing plant. She then transferred to another plant closer to home in Pontiac. She was an MHA and after one year she applied to be mail processor where she continues. 6 years towards retirement so far. Also a Filipina. She comes home in pain every day. I work at the same facility as a maintenance technician, which can be very physically challenging.
I agree with you, it's draining.
Hey I've been working at USPS for about a week now. Im a MHA but I want your opinion on joining the Labor Union???
Hi, as a temporary I did not join the union. But if I became permanent I surely will. They take money out of your salary every payday.
Don’t it’s a waste of time and money . The union is corrupt as management.
Good point, don't complain for what you sign up for...
Hi what is on the custodian assessment test ? Is it hard

Can you listen to music while working, like walking with a hip speaker?
It depends on the workplace.
We can listen to music at my plant in Duluth Georgia. If I couldn't listen to music or UA-cam videos, the job would be even worse than it is already.
English translation: Worst job I've ever had, not only because of how they stress you out, but also because the managers aren't trained and tend to be a bit abusive if they see that you don't know how to defend yourself, forget about those in the union, they don't defend you. In some places like in CA. They make you work for 14 days in a row (8-10 hrs) you rest 1 day and then everything repeats itself. If the manager sees that you are picking up a good rhythm, they give you another route apart from your route. It is understandable that there are people who believe it is a good job but it consumes all your time and energy, for me that did not work, especially if you have to wait 2-5 years for them to give you a permanent route. Good luck to all the brave.
If you have option please stay away
Terrible job
I'm talking about Philadelphia
After working for 4 different supervisors, I can say that the management can make the workplace toxic which new hires like to quit or a motivator where you want to stay despite of hard labor. My good supervisor motivates us and remind us that you are just a number and the goal is to earn and save money. That works for me. I have life other than my job and I use the money to do the things that I like. It's hard to be happy when you are broke.
Kudos. I appreciate how you represent the USPS responsibly. Some UA-camrs out here talk badly about the USPS as if they are not expected to rep the company well while they are employed. Complainers are not a fit; it's like being in the military. It's a federal organization. Glad you are repping USPS correctly. More power to you.
Thanks.
You forget I. The military your a team and help each other in in postal it’s not the same
Hi how are you I apply for cca in New York but the place I apply for she call me the lady if want to go another place almost 50 minutes form my home ??
I just got hired as a CCA in PA and my supervisor told us they will put us where they need us. That means you don’t get to chose where you will work but here where I live they do take in account where you live and try to keep you in your zip code. There’s no harm in asking what their placement policy is. NY might be different congratulations on getting hired.
I have question do they work u to see how u work so they can hired u and i was told to start work sunday 7am but they didny tell me how long tho?
How did it go? I was given 8am but no end time for tomorrow
