These are such great videos! Dr. Williams does a fantastic job. Somehow, my parochial school had access to this building for winter basketball practice in the mid 70's. It was so much fun to go down there in the evening with the team. We'd use the entrance framed by the 2 cannons and there was a basketball court upstairs. It most likely was the drill hall repurposed. There was also an elevated running oval above the basketball court. It was of course very darkened when we were there, but I do recall that a few of us would slip away and kind of explore the building. Great memories.
I really regret I didn’t discover the history and my fascination with Savannah’s architecture until a few years ago. I would have certainly pursued a career in this field. Your videos are incredible and your work is inspiring ❤️❤️
This video should be a mandatory portion of each new student's orientation @ SCAD. This video is interesting enough to garner 10,000 views!

what a cool story. Hard to imagine a basketball game going on inside such an ornate (but strong!) building.
Another wonderful video. Such a stunning building, inside and out. So important for these buildings to be preserved and for their stories to be told.

Thank you for your kind words. Many architectural historians gravitate to the field after having done other things, sometimes after many years.
Wonderful presentation of Poetter Hall. Dr. Williams should do more videos of SCAD's historic buildings.
Thank you for this! I loved this video!
Another great video. SCAD certainly has fun with their interiors-thanks for the peek inside!
I found so many old bottles when we were remodeling that building!!!
