@@nathanielamiriam5148 Many black blues and hokum bands used the washboard for percussion in the 1920s-30s. Jim Kweskin's Jug Band and a few others used it in the 1960s. Tuba Skinny, Shake 'em up Jazz Band and others are using it now.
Damn! I love this! Carrying on a wonderful heritage of Dixieland from New Orleans! I'm an old dude of 83 who had his own bands when young as a clarinet player. Your group is just super! I love it. Nice and tight while also swinging freely and happily! You are all so lucky to have found each other. You will cherish these memories when you get old like me.
That song always appealed to me I remember when I first heard it. At least just a little of the beginning. It was in Warner Brothers cartoon "One Froggy Evening" where a frog sings all these classic old songs, but only for the person who found the frog and no one else. That was 1955 and I was the ripe old age of 8.
This is nice that they are continuing traditional jazz style. This is jazz in it's purest form with as much, if not more energy than current music. This is jazz performed as it was over 100 years ago when it began in America. They are all so young and it makes me hopeful for the future of jazz. Keep up the good work! Merci beaucoup. Allez!
Thank you for a rip-roaring New Orleans style jazz, DON'T TALK ABOUT ME WHEN I'M GONE. "Kid Orey" would have been Proud of you, playing like this!!! So would Fletcher Henderson! & Benny Goodman
Can I just say: They sounded FANTASTIC!!!! Like, I was so content just sitting here and watching/listening to them play☺️ The one comment I will make though, why are the clarinet, trumpet, and trombone sitting down but the Tuba is standing?💀🤣

Just. Wow! Having played all those instruments myself except washboard, I know the talent captured in one video here! So good! I kept hearing and looking for a hi-hat somewhere out of sight, but realized it was actually excellent washboard technique. Now I want to try it.

Oh thank you very much for that amazing compliment 🙏 We are happy that you enjoy our music !
At first glance I thought it was Shaye guesting on tuba, yet another of her many instruments.
really enjoyed this and comparisons to Tuba Skinny, high praise indeed 🙂
I actually thought this was Tuba Skinny at first! That’s a huge compliment to these guys, great work!
I was looking at something else and thought it was Tuba Skinny initially.
This band is GOOD! Don't recall seeing a singing washboard player before, but she handles it well.

I think the trombonist is great: she really gets American jazz!

been listening to this on repeat for days. The vibes are impeccable

Your terminology is completely wrong. Swing music is dance-band music, also known as big band jazz. THIS is trad jazz.
