This is very nice and if you have the OLDER cartridges you can do it. The cartridge halves are joined by a dowel pin as you see in this video. You use a drift and hammer, as shown, to repel the pin into the cartridge and separate the halves. As shown here. Or at least you used to do that. The newer cartridges don't allow you to fully repel the pin on one side so you cannot use this method anymore. Many of you may have already found this out. You need to use the soldering iron and funnel method on the cart's.
My pin wouldn't go in like you describe. But I hit it harder and eventually it went thru. It damaged the little plastic that kept it from going in. It looked ok, but when I reassembled it, i get extra ink (8 blocks) down the page on the same left side where I had to hit harder. The 8 spots correspond to the toner wheels diameter when rolled across the page (not the larger drum, but one of the 2 smaller tubes). I'm not sure if i damaged it. The rollers look fine and distribute the ink properly. I think if I damaged a roller, it would be MISSING ink on that side since that is where the toner goes onto the roller. Also, the blocks are in the margin area where things don't normally get printed. I don't understand how EXTRA toner can be applied (it should only stick when the laser puts negative charge on the drum). Any damage should prevent toner going on. Maybe its something else. I looked at the rollers in the sun and saw no discoloring like oils from my hands etc. I've washed them with lens cloth 4 times. Any ideas?
Thanks for the video. I tried to do it before watching this . . . and I think I broke something! I didn't realise I could push out the spindle that holds the drum in place without cracking the plastic cap. The video was very helpful.
and can you by any chance please tell me what exactly is the professional machine called, the one you used, to blow all the excess ink out, and it vacuums it?? might be of great help...

In fact, it doesn't help using a face mask. With these machines, you will not need, either as they completely strain the floating toner powder in the air and keep them enclosed inside the filtration system.

i refill the cartridge and its work , but the drum is dirty from the ink , so be carefull when you refill it because you cant clean it again.

You need to replace the chip in each refill. Otherwise, the printer will not recognize the cartridge and stop printing.
